  1. Im dreading a Stevens Carter final so glad to see Ronnie has stepped up a gear. Now just need Maguire to waken up and thrash Carter who is getting more and more tedious to watch as each ball gets potted.
  2. The Captain has to be the worst possible nickname for any sports player ever. You can tell whoever was to think of a suitable name for him couldnt be arsed to spend any time over it, remembered he has a pilots license, scribbled it down, then went off for a drink, probably laughing with his mates over such a pish name. Interestingly the bbc commentators are also getting annoyed at his tactics, "he's playing safe" becoming the new "absolutely perfect". It takes a lot for John Virgo and Willie Thorn to start throwing in narky comments, normally they commend everyone for everything. No idea how many pots Carter has turned down which most professional snooker players would have went for. Even Fergal O'Brien, who is slower than Ebdon and very cautious, would have taken on some of the pots. If Maguire can keep his patience then he should go on to win, however if possible Carter is going to ensure each and every frame is down to the colours. 5-5 and we will probably be here till Christmas.
  3. The most irritating commentator is Dennis Taylor when Ding is playing. Its sickening at times how much Taylor gets turned on. However im getting fed up with the amount of times they say "absolutely perfect". Get a thesaurus and come up with new phrases for the matches. As for the semi-finals its been really scrappy snooker so far with no player breaking free and compiling a few big breaks in a row. Every player has struggled, not sure if its just down to the new cloths on the table but the balls have run awkward at times. Disappointing to see Carter has went down the 'take no risks whatsoever' route and plays safe at every opportunity, far better player when he is going for his shots. Its one thing having good match play but not to the extent of waiting for the ball to be over the pocket before even considering a pot. No surprise tho when you learn that Ebdon has been added to his corner. Soon his shot rate will be at 30 seconds, each frame will last 80 minutes, and Carter will keep playing on even when he needs 18 snookers to tie.
  4. I can totally see why people dislike Ronnie as he does come across as ungrateful to the sport and crowd at times, however he does bring entertainment to the sport. Hopefully he's finally stopped with the endless threats to quit yet not. Considering he hates the travel and leaving his kids will be interesting to see if he will go to the 5 ranking tournaments in China and all the PTC's spread across the world next season, especially if he does go on and win on Monday. Might he go out on a high? He had to win in Germany Masters to avoid the qualifiers this year.
  5. It would be good for the sport because folks who otherwise might not bother to watch will because its Ronnie, like Phil Taylor in darts. Plus it would be a great final. The hardest thing is getting people to watch, once they do they might actually enjoy it. Stevens doesnt hold the same level of interest. Must admit i find Stevens to be 'pah' and a shrug of the shoulders, so if not Ronnie than Robertson who at least brings some entertainment to the game. Whoever is in it, the final cant be as bad as when Dott won it in 2006 beating Ebdon. The quality was awful.
  6. Its been a good tournament with folks like Ebdon, Lee, Ding, Selby & Allen all going out early, and more recently Trump. Makes it far better to watch not having to see them play, bored out my brain, listening to Virgo and Taylor praise them endlessly. Great to see Hendry make a 147 before he retired and not be thumped in the early rounds. Higgins was poor throughout but wasnt surprising considering how his season has been. Williams was unfortunate to meet O'Sullivan in the second round and in such good form. Last 4; Roberson/O'Sullivan, Maguire, Stevens & probably Carter. Not sure O'Sullivan will win it, i would back Roberson at the moment but it will surely be whoever wins that match. Maguire is a great player but always seems to have a session where his head goes completely, personally i dont think he has the temperament. Hendry was really poor tonight, probably as bad as Higgins was, so its difficult to know how Maguire will cope under pressure against a stronger opponent. Even in his first round match against Luca Brecel he wacked the balls around at times. A Maguire O'Sullivan final would be a fantastic final for the sport.
  7. A very large majority believe Scottish Football will survive without the OF. Its only the OF and their fans who wont believe it and in that i include the media folks who proclaim they are only thinking of Scottish football and whats best for it. The logic escapes me. Yes they have done serious wrongs. Yes they should be punished. But not too much because they are a big club. Not that the big clubs can do as they want, how they want, as they want. They must obey the rules. And if they dont they must get punished. But not too much because they are a big club. Not that the big clubs can do as they want, how they want, as they want. They must obey the rules. And if they dont they must get punished. And repeat ad nauseum till ever remaining last shred of decency in the game has been booted to death. Just remember throughout that its for the benefit of Scottish Football that it should happen that way. Especially during the time when your own puny club ( ie non-OF) is getting heavily shafted for breaking some piddly rule that is so minute compared to what the Might Gers have done over the years.
  8. OK im confused. On BBC Scotland we had one of the Blue Knights on saying their new bid with Kennedy was more than Millers but now there is a report on the bbc that says its not. Is anyone involved in all this bidding not talking absolute bollocks? Man this is getting more and more boring as each day goes by. Will someone please just boot them out the league so we can all move on (or die a death if you believe Billy Dodds or Jim Traynor). It was good to hear Tam Cowan take Doddsy on over his crap about how Scottish football is going to be awful without Rangers. For once a sane view amidst the endless s'~;e being spoute of how Rangers must survive for Scottish football to prosper.
  9. Yip. Not sure if it should be posted here tho. A lot of papers will do the same i think.
  10. Sadly some wont. They will vow revenge and send threats thru false names in the guise of being a 'diehard' and trying to look tough. That is if they arent too stupid to be able to send a text but they probably have the threats saved on their phone (done by someone with a brain cell), neatly filed for each 'prejudice, biased act of injustice' directed towards their club. Just pound the keypad till the right one is on screen.
  11. Sickening turn of events but goes to show there is little difference between the Rangers and Celtic fans when anything doesnt go their way, be it penatly decisions, red cards, or in this case a punishment for breaking the rules. I think the events of today by the idiots online who leaked the names online and those who are issuing the death threats will do major damage to not only Rangers chances of survival but also their reputation not only in Scotland but also further afield. The Daily Record should be heavily hauled over the coals for their back page. What on earth were they thinking when putting that together for publishing, especially when media ethics are under such scrutiny. Everyone knew the repercussions would be huge and for once it cant be palmed away with talk of 'accurate and responsible journalism' and 'only writing the story', at all times there has to be common sense and decency and this goes way below that. Plus there is still the verdict from the SPL on Monday to come as well as HMRC's ruling. I dread what is going to happen after those are delivered, its certainly not going to be civil or pleasant from the thugs and brain-dead morons out there who despite everything still believe that Rangers have done little wrong, and its just because they are the Gers that this is all happening.
  12. Tonights programme was a joke, shouting the whole way thru Rangers because they are a big club. Get stuffed. Just because you are a big team doesnt mean you can get away with a 10 point deduction and a fine, which they cant pay anyway. Thought Traynors and Dodds comments were incredibly strange to say the least, going along the lines of 'Yes they have broken the rules and should be punished but the punishment should be watered down because others will be affected and they are a big club' and making it out that its for the good of all Scotttish Football if Rangers remain in the SPL. Dodds said he wasnt thinking of whats best for Rangers but for the other clubs (which is complete bollocks in itself). And just for good measure they threw in that if anyone cant see that then they are blind idiots with the IQ of a baby born to two inbred cousins'. Whats best for Scottish football is that its integrity remains at all costs, if that means Rangers get thrown out the league then they deserve it. I dont see why its so hard to realise. Plus Dodds made it out that if it was a lesser team sympathy would have been shown. More bollocks being spouted to make it appear the proceedings and punishments are biased. And is it just me but did the admin guy who was on not have an answer to the question "what would be a suitable punishment then". Seemed to flouder, talk drivel and avoid giving an answer.
