  1. As RusselAnderson says that the Goal Keeping coach Jim Leighton and also Celtic Youth Academy goal keeping coach Colin Meldrum are at fault for the terrible keepers we had.
  2. Here is a list of the terrible keepers we have had since Langfield joined the club: Ryan Esson Derek Souter Bertrand Bossu (worst goalkeeper I've ever watched) Stuart Nelson Mark Howard Jason Brown Dan Twardzik David Gonzalez Nicky Weaver Scott Brown Danny Ward Not including U20 goal keepers Apart from Ward there isn't one I one put ahead of Langfield, i would put Esson about same level as Langfield. I did think Nicky Weaver would replace Langfield but in the end he looked terrible in the few games he played.
  3. That Scottish Football Icon won a lot in Scotland as a player - 1 Scottish Cup. To be fair to him he was with two very pish sides at the time Hibs and Celtic.
  4. I think this deal was done before Ward become on loan so I very much doubt if we get another outfield player in.
  5. Same could be said about Jonny Hayes when he first joined the club and look at him now. Some players need time to settle
  6. Excellent news was concerned he would go to Rangers and to be honest he is our best manager since Fergie that is how high I rate him.
  7. Must be time to sell season tickets and also have a positive message to Rangers fans with an EGM on Friday. Press will try and sell the fans positive information about spending more money on the playing side to sell season tickets. No doubt the Rangers fans will buy that PR message especially when the new manager is getting announced on the same day and will be introduced to the shareholders of the club while the difficult questions will not be asked at EGM.
  8. Alex Miller is the man for us - sell Billy Dodds for Robbie Winters and give some money to Dundee Utd!
  9. http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/fp/aberdeen-fc/pitching-into-the-main-job-in-hand/ THE Dons today confirmed work has finally begun on building their new £7 million training ground at Balgownie. It will be done in stages over the next year, but Dons manager Derek McInnes and his players are expected to be working out of it by the early part of next year. The Dons have been reluctant to finally confirm where the new training ground would be based until final contracts have been penned with partners Aberdeen University, who own the site. But when asked where the new facility is being built, Dons vice-chairman George Yule replied: “It will be at Balgownie. “We are close to securing all the necessary agreements and some minor work has already been carried out at the site. “We are hoping to see that stepped up during July. The intention is for the work on the three professional standard pitches to be completed by October. “It’s unfortunate it won’t be ready for the start of the new season, but we have alternative arrangements in place for the first team to use. “But it’s a positive that we will finally be working out of our own facility by the turn of the year.” The cost of building the complex will be around £7 million. It will contain six football pitches and a new rugby pitch, which will be used by teams from Aberdeen University. Two of the football pitches will also be artificial, which would help manager Derek McInnes prepare his team for games at the likes of Hamilton and Kilmarnock, who have similar surfaces installed in their stadiums. The existing pavillion at Balgownie will also be demolished and replaced by a state-of-the-art facility.
  10. I've never seen him have a good game for Aberdeen as a left back. Every manager we have had has put him in the team to start with so must have something about him. Played for Scotland U21's as well although I remember Stark played him in the Centre Half against England and we got thumped 6-0.
  11. I've never rated Shaughnessy to be honest. Not sure if he is Premier League class, didn't really do that great at Falkirk by all accounts when he should be standing out.
  12. Dave King has sailed close to the wind with South African tax authorities and going with that I would expect him to do the same with Rangers. I wouldn't be keen on someone like that running the club I support but Rangers fans are desperate to get back to the old days. Did see a bit of his interview and talk of investment of 30 million which he will put in 1/2 over the next 4 or 5 years seems unlikely imho (although he said it could go higher if they don't achieve promotion or the next season finish 4th or 5th and don't qualify for Europe)
  13. I also thought he was finished previously but I think he has been man of the match in the last few games he has started. I thought he was excellent in the first half against Celtic although had to be subbed because he could have got sent off.
  14. I've never been a big fan of him, apart from the Semi-final I felt he was very poor against us overall. Would think he is too similar to Rooney though and would he get a game as our manager prefer 1 up top - not sure if May could play out wide if the rumour is true.
  15. True but looking at the fall of Celtic attendances shows that they need your lot as much as you need them. I find it quite funny that the diddy clubs are not really effected that much without Rangers.
  16. He's not wrong though Celtic needs Rangers as much as Rangers need Celtic. The other clubs don't really need them at all
  17. Will last until they put season tickets back on to sale I suppose. Not going to be a quick fix for Rangers
  18. Aberdeen use Performance Analysis software that is why they knew he was offside or not.
  19. Aberdeen have their own cameras for matches at Pittodrie that only those at the club get to see and according to to them Ryan Jack wasn't offside for that goal although it does look it from the crap camera angle we get to see. St Johnstone game at New Year Rooney was offside for Aberdeen 2nd goal which Cammy Smith scored.
  20. Our management team last season at the black and gold meeting said the Refs are the worst standard they can remember.
  21. Lets be honest most refs will support either Rangers or Celtic that is just the way it is. Fergie was clever in the 80's to point out we didn't get decisions and I sometimes wish McInnes should actually say something to the media as well about decisions seem to go against us. The only difference between us and Celtic this season is the games we have played them as with the games against other teams we are 3 pts better off with them playing a game less. I suppose the 1st game we was dreadful for 60 minutes and really that is more our downfall to that game but we should have had a pen. 2nd game they had Scott Brown sent off which to be honest the 2nd booking was soft, but they got lucky getting two corners for the winner goal but we should still should be able to defend a set-piece though.
  22. To be fair Aberdeen have always been quiet on the signings front especially since Derek has become manager. I very much we will be that active during the transfer window, might have to get a few youngsters out before we will take in 1 or 2. Budget won't change that much even though we have no debt but the fans will expect quite a few signings and will be disappointed as normal. Just look at Transfer window day and fans was saying we have blown our chance to get near Celtic.
  23. Just watched the BBC video of Craig Whyte greeted by an Angry crowd and that is fair enough but David Murray seems to get an easy ride from the Rangers fans. I suppose because he won so many trophies then to some that makes it ok but he was the one that went major into debt trying to keep ahead of Celtic and pay the same as some EPL teams. Rangers was in mess before Murray sold the club and he was so desperate to sell to anyone would buy the club for a £1 that when he did he was never going to do a due diligence on Craig Whyte.
