  1. Lewis Morgan and Glenn Middleton seem to be the next big hopes. Hastie at Motherwell (if he's still at Motherwell?), too. Can't think of any on the right. Does Chris Burke count?
  2. Actually, Kuro didn't say that. He said he'd rather have him than Roberto Martinez. The implication was all yours. If it helps, I too would rather have Steve Clarke managing Scotland than Martinez, as I've seen him take poor players and improve them. Mind you, I'd rather have him back at Killie. Genuine question - would you rather have Clarke or Gerrard at rangers?
  3. To be fair, Forrest and McGregor must be knackered. Totally agree about Griffiths (good for Brophy to have some real competition for the No.9 shirt ), and Christie will be a big player for Scotland once fit again. Who do we have to push Forrest, though? Or to give him a break at least? Are there any youngsters coming through on the right wing?
  4. Not sure what you're getting at here? By positive gradient, I'm meaning long-term. As I said before, I doubt we'll qualify out of this group. The Nations League playoffs could be a strong possibility, but I think we'll be in a much better place for the tournament after that, with Clarke in chaarge.
  5. Lads, lads, lads. Every manager claims to learn from defeats, but the only one I've genuinely seen doing it is Clarke. To be honest, as much as I like to slag off Aberdeen and (ex)Hibs players, I'm just glad we've got a manager who isn't afraid to try Scottish Premiership players at International level. Going by some who worship the EPL, you'd have thought we would have been pumped by Cyprus and allow Belgium to run up double figures. We beat a tricky Cyprus team and didn't embarrass ourselves tonight, even with chucking in an untested LB at the last minute to replace our best player and Champion's League-winning captain. We're on a positive gradient for the first time in fucking ages.
  6. To be fair, we'd have been better with Paul Dalglish than Forrest's dithering tonight.
  7. Agree. McKenna out of his depth. Findlay and Broaders wouldn't have let any of those in. The sooner we move to an all-Killie back 4 the better.
  8. That's like when Hibs beat us 3-0 at Rugby Park in one of Steve Clarke's first games. We got thumped on the night, but the difference in organisation and desire led us to give the team a standing ovation off the park. This group is probably beyond us, but given time, Clarke will lead us to qualification in the next tournament.
  9. Steve Clark will not take that lightly. He'll learn from this. And we will f**k Belgium at Hampden.
  10. f**k SAKE FORREST! Get him in the sea and get Brophy on!
  11. f**k SAKE MCKENNA! Get him in the sea and get Findlay on!
  12. Oh, now, I don't think it will be that easy for us, but I'm loving your positivity! It's more like Killie going to celtic park - a tough game, but winnable if we can remain organised and focused. Hopefully it's not like us playing Aberdeen.......does anyone know if Belgium have shitfested their way to the No. 1 spot in the FIFA rankings?
  13. Enough of this defensive nonsense. Attaaaack! It's the last thing they'll be expecting. Mulgrew is dropped - he might have experience but he's slower than McKenna. Findlay speedy and strong, and is the man to dominate these Belgian waffles. Brophy starts on the bench, to come on later after Burke has worn them down with his constant running and bumping into things. Forrest gets another chance purely because he couldn't possibly be any worse. McGinn is hooked for the man-mountain McTominay. McLean makes way for the always classy Armstrong.
  14. Swapping Robertson and O'Donnell? Ok, it's mental, but it might just work! All we need to do is convince Belgium they're shooting the wrong way, then let Hazard, De Bruyne et al do the damage to themselves.
  15. Burke for Brophy (bring The Wolf on later to score his first goals, once Burke has run Kompany and Alderweireld ragged). Forrest was absolutely gash, and his laziness stopped SOD getting forward to punish Cyprus. Might be easier to just leave him out altogether and let SOD make the right side his own. McGinn was a bombscare as usual. Check to see if Alan Power has a Scottish granny. Otherwise go for the poor man's Gary Dicker, Scott McTominay, Can't decide who was worse between McKenna and Mulgrew, Drop them both. Use Souttar as a big lump as long as he can take instructions from the imperious Findlay. Still undecided about Robbo. Might need to be dropped if he's going to give away more goals like he did. I noticed Greg Taylor didn't give away any goals on saturday, so I'd start him in front of Andy. The rest of them better get used to upping their games to the standard of the Killie under Clarke. Maybe Chris Burke could be drafted in to show Ryan Fraser how to cross a ball?
  16. I am still a wee bit saddened when Scottish folk say they don't support Scotland. It's always been club AND country for me. I suspect some of those who don't follow anymore have just been scunnered having their heart broken over and over again by various teams and managers. I hope if Clarke does turn the ship around, then they come back on board. But those who marvel at their own audacity to not support Scotland, who revel in their own edginess, you should know you are just a bunch of tragic pub-bores. What a bunch of p***ks. They've usually got an English team as well.
  17. Somebody's got to stick up for them and tell the truth. Otherwise we just get swamped with the opinions of clowns and wankers.
  18. O'Donnell looked wary to get forward because Forrest was having a shocker. O'Donnell is an attacking RB, he's up and down the wing for us. But only because Chris Burke or whoever covers for him. As for him not having any pace? That's just utter pish. Did you see him outpace their defence for his shot on goal? Totally agree about Forrest. He was the one who curtailed SOD's attacking play.
  19. "the quality of player just isn't there" I hear this one a lot. Do you seriously think Norn Irn has better players than us? Or Iceland? Steve Clark revolutionised my club, with largely the same players. He took a bunch of guys who were whipping boys for the likes of the rangers and celtic and took them, over time, from the bottom of the league into Europe. As a killie fan, i used to go to watch games against the old infirm hoping to keep the score down. Under Clarke, we were going to those games full of confidence. We gave celtic a few bloody noses and we skelped sevco over and over. Not because we had spent cash we don't have on world-class players. They did it because the Killie boys were organised, clinical and worked their arses off as a team. Clark will bring success to Scotland. In my experience, it's only bitter **** who have a problem with him.
  20. Also, the anti-O'Donnell squad are talking out of their arses. He played fine, almost got the 2nd after a typical lung-bursting run and didn't give away any goals (unlike Robbo). McGinn seems to have at least one serious howler for Scotland every time he plays and nearly cost us a goal last night, but he avoids criticism. McKenna and Mulgrew were made to look like a pair of fannies as they allowed a guy to run onto a simple pass straight through the middle of them. I accept that the squad need time to play together and to get to know the style of play. Unfortunately, the next game is against the best team in the world. Luckily Sir Steve's Clarke's in charge. If he thinks McGinn, McKenna, O'Donnell, Mulgrew, Forrest etc are good enough, then that's fine by me.
  21. The problem wasn't Brophy - he can't do much with the pishy service he was being served up by Fraser and in particular, Forrest. Oli Burke definitely offers more in the air, but he wouldn't have got to most of those crosses even if he was standing on top of Brophy. Forrest was the biggest disappointment. He was anonymous. The only thing he did all night was constantly freeze with indecision and put in dreadful crosses. For the Belgium game, I'd start Oli Burke for his physicality. That's all he is, though. He's never seemed like mush of a striker, even in a Celtic side which gets loads of chances. I'd bring on Brophy or Russell later. We have to Forrest again and I doubt he could play as shite again, but if he does freeze on the night, who do we have to replace him?
  22. I get the impression both Soutter and McKenna are solid but slow. Findlay brings solidity and speed. If he's not already better than them, he will be. Never really been impressed with Soutter that much, I'd partner McKenna with Findlay at the back.
  23. Neil Lennon fully deserves his new 4 year contract at celtic.
  24. "So you want us all to wear.....bin bags?" "Naw mate. Bhin Bhags."
  25. Are Celtic being deliberately shite? Players trying to get Lenny oot? If I was the Celtic board, I'd crush those dangerous upstarts by giving Lennon a nice 5 year contract. Anything else would be a clear sign of weakness by the board.
