Maybe I am missing something.....wasn't a certain Motherwell-Hibs game a few years back the most exciting game of the season? Or maybe ANY SPL season? The one where Lucas Jutkiewicz scored, THE best SPL goal ever, in the 94th minute after his team were FOUR goals down?
Or maybe I was dreaming that night?
Must admit it's late for me now....staying up for the Euro game wi a few Suntorys......
PA
That is the point I was making. Motherwell should get some extra TV cash for being part of
the most exciting SPL fixture. Maybe I am missing something.

Prob should be a separate thread for all of Doncasters quotes but if you at his history of
talking crap is prob unrivalled which fits in with what will happen to rangers.
I predict that sometime during this process he will give an interview that will lose
most of SPL fans through mass head explosion.
Hibs to be relegated as we go to ten team league.
Cockwomble predicts league of ten
http://news.bbc.co.u...rem/9338483.stm
Doncaster conceded that supporters broadly favour expansion but argued that the numbers just do not add up.
"We have to acknowledge that the popular vote is for a larger league but you can't just ask the question in isolation," he explained.
"If you put it to them that your club will lose at least £1m [calculations based on loss of TV revenue and fewer fixtures] then it doesn't look very attractive.
"It's imperative that we bring more money in, we get the best players that we can afford and that fans see more exciting football."

Jane Lewis@JaneLewisSportSFA, SPL and SFL confirm talks have taken place re. league reconstruction. Consultation with all clubs 2 now take place
http://news.bbc.co.u...rem/9403358.stm
like these talks in 2011. I don't think its going to happen although the Daily Record seems to think it will.
All these reporters getting excited about league reconstruction talks do they remember how
long it takes to sort something like this out.
For any fans of Doncaster have a look at this(he says that their is broad support for
a ten team league. like all the articles just now what a lying waste of space)
http://news.bbc.co.u...rem/9359765.stm
I guess we have a 10 team SPL what a load of bollocks.

So what can we do to help motherwell?
unlike the rangers fans I don't want to see Scottish football die.
From a hibs perspective we could gift them points and sign crap players thus getting them more prize money.
We could also do a deal like we did with Ross County and buy martin scott for 100k then loan him back and
cover most of his wages.
Aberdeen have more than done their bit , paying to take two manager off them.
Part of the new TV deal should prob involve putting motherwell - hibs on the telly as
its the most exciting game of the season and we deserve some extra cash.

The press are really getting in a muddle here as are the clubs
- Talk of teams going into Admin without Rangers
- Talk of clubs paying out of their budget to put Rangers into the 1st
- Talk of increasing the amount of teams relegated so as not to lose rangers
- Talk of a bigger league as a compromise not to lose rangers for long
- Talk of SFL3&2 teams voting to not make cash from rangers fans
- Talk of SFL 1 teams voting to have rangers in their league for a season to decrease their chance of promotion
- Talk of letting rangers do XYZ for voting reforms(when they are gone they can vote through what the like)
You even get a mixture of that in the same article. Good luck getting Petrie to pay money for
Rangers to play in the 1st division. Good luck in telling a 3rd division team that you
wont be getting two visits from Rangers for the good of the game.
It know looks like the wont get into the SPL. If you were an SFL3 chairman you would want
at least 80k to vote them not in your league. SFL2 every club there would want 80k.
SFL 1 clubs would want more promotion places and a bigger SPL.
So for years they cannot get an agreement but now sticking rangers in SFL1 will fix all the problems.
Get them out the SPL and make them apply for SFL3 and then and only then
look at league reform SPL TV and anything else.

Doncaster has to go really, who appoints him? Is there any way for supporters to force him out?
I know that Petrie was involved in hiring him. A few things to consider are
1.) All the SPL chairman and owners would know that a CVA does = New Co
2.) Its quite obvious that many chairman in the SPL do not agree with what he says
3.) Petrie at Hibs has quite keenly made previous 'Hibs Managers' fall guys.
Specifically Bobby Williamson was paid a very high wage but had his
budget cut and then offered a pay cut.
4.) I am not saying Petrie would hire this guy if he thought he would be terrible
but maybe he served a function
Hibs are very keen on SPL TV however they never push this in the media. Its doubtful
if teams like Celtic/Hearts/Aberdeen/Dundee united/hibs would read and be influenced
by articles like the Daily Record. They would keep there long term plan close to
them. Something like hibs new plan for SPL TV would be worked on behind the scenes.
The leak to the Daily record and herald damages a plan like this not strengthens it.
I am not a fan of Petrie with some of the things he does at Hibs.
However in terms of an influence on the SPL I consider him positive and could
easily out manoeuvre Doncaster whilst trimming his tash and working excel.

Of all the plans so far. Rangers into the first division makes no sense at all. Why would
all the SFL clubs agree to something which will lose SFL2 and 3 clubs money as they
wont get to play rangers. Why would hibs & hearts pay for rangers to be in the 1st division
as if that was some kind of benefit to them.
I am starting to be convinced that Neil Doncaster just feeds out stupid plans one by one
hoping that people buy it. Remember how he tried to convince people that New Co = CVA.
Remember how he said ' I dont expect any application to transfer share'. Remember
when he said that a ten team SPL was the only way forward. Most statements he
makes contradict the next statement. He has a simply formula that involves calculating
how much he thinks he can get from the TV deal at the present moment in time
based on the quickest way to achieve that. He also presents information
to the media that his new plan is a 'done deal'.
Not so long ago he would have told you
'There is no mechanism for Rangers to go to the 1st division what will happen
is a simple vote on rangers transfer of share'
I cannot believe that behind the scenes there will not be mass division on this.
There is no way Neil Doncaster will get his beloved Rangers into the 1st division
or the SPL.

Check the Daily Records take on things....
"WE DON'T WANT YOU GERS...
Hearts and Arabs will vote to kick stricken Ibrox club out the SPL.
Hearts and Dundee United last night GANGED UP on Rangers in a bid to boot the troubled club out of the SPL."
....rrrrrrrright then. Couple of points.
1 how can two clubs GANG UP when each is given an individual vote, to do with as they each see fit? If both voted to allow sevco INTO the SPL, would they have ganged up to do so?
2 How can the DR talk of booting OUT a club that is no longer there to BE booted out? Rangers are no more. The SPL exists without Rangers. They are DEID!!
I only bought the Record today so see their slant on yesterday's proceedings. Boy....they haven't let me down.
Daily Record = Sevco's bitches to the bitter end.
.....
The Daily record wanted rangers to stay in the SPL. Half their sports pages are about rangers.
If they cant keep them in the SPL they want them in the 1st. Their reporting is shockingly
biased in attempt to influence SPL/SFL and force through compromise. The fact is
the Daily Record will lose jobs if Rangers go to SFL 3.
I would imagine no matter how bad their reporting might seem, most of the daily
records sales are based on their football reporting.
To turn it full circle Rangers fans seem to think the Daily Record is biased against
them as do celtic.
Saying that might buy a copy to read rangers SFL 3 first match report.

I don't understand the argument for letting rangers back in
1.) if they get in they will get sanctions (rangers fans away boycott)
2.) Celtic/Aberdeen/Hibs fans should not go to any ground that let them in (boycott)
Are SPL chairman really as stupid and pig headed as to ignore 95% of the fans in scotland.
A fair percentage of Rangers fans even want to go to the 3rd.
Honestly if Petrie was even close to voting them back in I think Hibs fans would force him
from the club.
Can I ask fans of other diddy clubs would your BOD survive a yes vote.
The Well society and the st mirren buy outs would they survive a yes vote.
(massive percentage of fans putting money in the club each month
all wanting 'No' vote but the board vote 'yes')
This is really new levels of stupid even for the SPL,
There is even some people suggesting celtic will vote them back in,
WTF voting back in a club who as a support like to try and make bombs to send to
members of staff as a hobby.
Jim Traynor and chick young will prob do some kind of dance celebration live
on telly if rangers get voted back in. The killie chairman will be in the
paper holding up bundles of cash and I think Rod Petries head will explode.

With St mirren/motherwell new fan ownership models going through does that increase the 'No' Votes.
Celtic
Hibs
Dundee United
Aberdeen
St mirren
Motherwell
If it looks like a 'No' Vote goes through I can see other clubs voting 'No' as more turn.
I think the positive message should be getting out there that Rangers will not be allowed back into the SPL.
I really cant understand any club who vote 'Yes' they would be tarnished with that decision for a very long time.
For example Romanov/Petrie can you imagine the abuse that will get thrown there way if they vote 'Yes'.
Another example is Ross County/Inverness they would have a much better chance of staying up if
they vote 'NO'. What are the chance of a fan base sticking by a club which votes 'Yes' and then
is relegated the next season ?
Can people imagine Hibs/Aberdeen being bottom 6 next season with Rangers in the top 6 after
the hibs/aberdeen board vote them back in.
Can you imagine Celtic losing the league in one of the next 3 seasons having voted Rangers back in.
Celtic could budget to be champions of the spl for the next 3 seasons plus european money without
Rangers. Celtic will be pushing for a 'NO' vote. Their current board would have 4 in a row sealed and
be in a position of strength. The champions path to the champions league should see them qualify
for 3/4 champions league campaigns. The money they get for europe is massive.
I dont think Rangers will get back in they will go to the 3rd division.

"Unless the money is from prostitution, drug dealing or child trafficking, then I'll take the money."
Hmm, tax exasion isn't on that list.....
Lap Dancing is not on the list either. I am boycotting all Lap Dancing clubs till I know the money
is not going to the new Co.

scotsman podcast talking about Rangers.(The link to download it is further down the page)
Good so far describes Daily Record as scaremongering over TV deal.
Honestly think the tide is turning on Rangers new co getting into SPL.
Neil Doncaster will not be happy and will prob release a statement soon saying something stupid
(possibly more stupid than ever before if that possible)

The way I see it, is all diddy clubs that vote 'Yes' Should all merge with 'The Rangers'.
Essentially they are admitting they are not a football club any more and simply
part of the pleasure/entertainment and business of Rangers. Simply
teams that are willing to turn up season in season out to play Rangers/Celtic
nothing else matters.
For example if Hearts/Killie/St johnstone/st mirren/inverness/ross county/motherwell/'The Rangers' all vote 'Yes'
and Hibs/Celtic/Aberdeen/dundee united vote 'No' the league would
be
The Rangers Fun Bus new co united
Celtic
hibs
Aberdeen
Dundee united
As Doncaster has pointed out less teams is better more TV money.
Problem solved.

A question for fans of all teams.
If its revealed who voted Yes/No to newco what will the strength of feeling be to the teams that voted
rangers back in.
The logic seems to be that the smaller clubs will all vote Rangers back in.
If you take Caley Thistle as an example. They could easily be relegated next season
so why is it so important for them to have Rangers in the league ?
Outside Celtic any of the clubs could suffer a relegation.
People are talking about letting Rangers back in and the smaller clubs will get
rewarded with a greater share of revenue.
Kick rangers out and the smaller clubs will hold the power to change the voting
structure.
No club as far as I can see has explicitly came out and said yes/no.
I doubt they will till the vote if over.
There is only one certainty that fans of every club should be contacting
their board of directors and telling them to vote 'NO'.
Honestly if they let them back in knowing the strength of feeling amongst
fans of all clubs then Scottish football is more fucked than anyone could
every have imagined.
Why would every club in the league decide to ignore the wishes
of all their customers.
Can I just add Neil Doncaster "is not expecting any application
from a new co rangers" this twats ability to make stupid
statements and rash dodgy predictions has no limit.
As a hibs fan I have read that Rod Petrie was one of
the people that appointed Neil Doncaster well done Rod another
solid appointment.

Could someone tweet this twat and ask him to explain his statement that
"every club outside Rangers/Celtic get the majority of their income from broadcasting'
Is utter crap.
The basis of him saying this was as an argument to allow a new co back into the SPL.
What is the basis of working for the BBC the ability to go live on Radio and make
up facts that helps the Rangers.
0 -
Listening in to BBC scotland they have a phone in on rangers.
chris mclaughlin Senior Football Reporter, BBC Scotland
Just said live on Radio
"outside Rangers/Celtic all clubs get the majority of their income from broadcasting"
This was used as an argument for Rangers staying in the SPL.
The presenter accepted this and therefore it makes sense.
So there you go case closed.

If there is "transparency" in the vote then any club that votes Rangers in will be completely f*cked over in lost season tickets guaranteed.
I believe they'll do everything they can to make it a secret ballot because that's the only way they'll be allowed in. As supporters we need to make sure that we know exactly who has voted for what, and dish out whatever punishments are necessary to our own wrongdoing chairmen.
As a Killie fan we're pretty much f*cked either way but I want the h*ns deid before we go.
Rangers should not be allowed back in.
If Rangers get sent to the 3rd division, then two years later Killie do a new co, they should be allowed back into the SPL without penalties
Killie voted no to rangers new co, and then doing a new co the year after and getting back in the SPL, would be one of finest points in SPL history.
While Rangers are in the lower leagues SPL clubs should attempt as many new cos as possible. Possibly some kind of new co pack next year
where the whole of the league does a new co with no penalties without rangers.

Quote from Green. Don't know if its been posted before but this sums him up
"It's a sad day for the club, for the fans. HMRC have got a lot to answer for."
Its all HMRC fault and they have a lot to answer for ! The average rangers fan I think will
buy this. HMRC have a clear policy on CVA which know one in the scottish
media bothered to read. The experts in the paper predicted CVA would go through.
The whole scottish media can be summed up by their reporting on the CVA with
most taking a positive stance. When you add in Neil Doncaster who did
not expect a new co to apply to the league. Neil Doncaster expected
HMRC to go against their clear policy's and except a CVA.
You can be certain that Rod Petrie/Milne/Romanov all knew the CVA
would fail , they have had time to decide how to vote.
Aberdeen
Celtic
Dundee united
Hearts
Hibs
I think they will all vote against the new co. No doubt every paper
in scotland will now be saying that its certain the New co will get in.
I don't think they will get in everyone of the clubs above would
lose massive support if they voted yes.
Can you imagine the first games of next season being
aberdeen 0 new co 3
or
hibs 0 new co 3
Hibs & aberdeen are that crap it could happen.
Any club that votes Yes should never be allowed to forget it.
It would be helpful if supporters clubs of all SPL clubs
gathered and put statements out supporting a full boycott
of any club voting yes.

Rangers planned to sign a "one eyed hot and trot transvestite" but no Catholics.
Watch this classic action to hear the scoop. Its Before Murray take over.

Quite interesting and say that punishment can be increased.
I sort of understand the SFA's position better now.
They disagree with the verdict in the court but they cant use the court to appeal.
In real courts criminals can get off on a technicality I don't think football should
work like this. So all rangers had to do was find one minuscule wording/phrase
anything wrong and they get off.
There argument thats its not in the rule book is rubbish. I would imagine
setting up an EBT then playing bonuses through it or bunging
graham souness some cash is not in the rule book with explicit
punishment. It falls under dual contracts. But the SFA/SPL cannot
have pages upon pages of punishments listed explicitly forever.
Rangers fans cannot grasp any of this.
Its not hard to tell that D&P have pissed everyone right off with this.
Well done D&P great work.

What leads you to believe FIFA could give a toss? Sensalionalist Daily Record pieces? Are they on a flight to Scotland as we speak?
My prediction - Appeals panel ban the scum from Scottish Cup, UEFA say "national Association have taken action and we will not interfere", FIFA say "where is Scotland?, is this a Welsh issue?"
Not sure if Fifa give a toss. But I think they know plenty about Scotland
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Football_Association_Board
We are on the board that decides the rules of the game worldwide.
They certainly know who we are.

My understanding is that the new co vote failed. It has also now been approved that 8-4 vote to allow a
new co in rather than the board. If the SPL had voted through new co punishment then that would
be it. Rangers would get entry to the SPL as a newco with the punishments. In fact
any club could do a newco if a member of the SPL and get through.
As the vote has not gone through if a rangers new co applies then they will need at least 8 clubs
to side with them or they are down to 3rd division.
This seems positive to me. They could not get 8 clubs to agree to allowing any newco in
the SPL even with the punishments.
Would be funny if quite a few clubs have changed there mind based on rangers
taking the SFA to court.
People overall seem certain they will get the 8 votes if newco comes to pass I am
not so sure.
Many on this forum have commented that no club would vote against rangers
being allowed back in. If this is true then why did they not vote through
the new co punishment today. That would be it done agreed.
If they had agreed the punishments today new co was in , it was over.

Oddbins offered HMRC 21 pence in the pound. The maximum rangers are offering is what 9p.
They will reject the CVA. I dont even see what ticketus would gain from accepting this. I dont even
know or understand why it took so long for D&P to come up with this CVA document unless
it was trying to get something binding with green on when they would release funds.
What I cant understand is the majority of rangers fans seem to think the CVA will
be accepted mental.
"Creditors at yesterday’s meeting to consider the CVA option, which Oddbins and its advisers, Deloitte, suggested could return 21 pence in the pound over 46 months, were bemused by HMRC’s intransigence."

Rangers admin team not aware of specifics. Lol great work guys.
FIFA could now order the SFA to take further action against Gers or risk seeing the national team BANNED from all competition — just as they did when Sion tried to fight their Europa League ban in a civil court.
Yet astonishingly, joint administrator Clark admitted: "I don't know if any of my team or lawyers were specifically aware of that. I wasn't aware of the specifics.

Its more likely that some people have put their own agenda on these talks. Rangers being
in the SFL 1 may not be the main part of this.
Either way there is no chance this will go through before the start of the season none.
