  1. I’m not prone to slaughtering refs because what’s the point? However, that’s absolutely brutal. Every single point could be the difference between us staying in this league or not. You cannot get a decision as simple as that wrong. We can look at the wall etc. as well, but the referee has to do his job properly there. Should be a demotion or a couple of weeks sitting out for that one.
  2. The QPSA contacted the Safety and Security Manager. New committee member also took it forward.
  3. Good stuff. Better for both sets of fans. Fair play to the club for engaging and listening. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
  4. We papped them down there on the Saturday as well. Ayr will bring at least as many. This is what sort of pisses me off from a home fan perspective. We seem to have invested heavily in every area of the club, except for average punters. Spending exorbitant amounts on a royal box and investment in hospitality and then telling the plebs it’s too expensive to hire a few more stewards and open some more kiosks. It sort of says it all, really. In terms of the North Stand, I’ve actually long thought this even going back to the League Two days. Couldn’t have a more natural segregation line and the view of the game for every single punter would be so much better. I’m sure there are £££ reasons for why that hasn’t or won’t happen, though.
  5. On the segregation thing, I’ve never had any issue at all with Ayr fans, or indeed most other sets of fans, but it’s probably better for them if they’re down the other end as well for a marginally better view. Better for our fans who don’t want to spend half an hour in a queue at half-time as well. Having to open more of the ground = more cost, which is probably what this is about. Segregation, but everyone congregating at the same bit at half-time has never made a huge amount of sense to me. Over the years, Ayr have always brought one of the bigger supports to Hampden, so it doesn’t really make sense to me that we put Dunfermline in the east section and not them.
  6. Aye. Even the League of Ireland has a few decent players kicking about. Definitely somewhere we should be watching. It also produced Johnny Kenny, of course.
  7. Mad would fitba makes you do, that would otherwise be seen as a cause for concern. “Just away oot the back to feel the softness of the ground. Won’t be a minute!”
  8. It is what it is. Scotland in January. I’ll certainly be giving it a good ten years before I have the brass neck to criticise or mock the infrastructure of another club.
  9. Four degrees tomorrow, seven on Saturday, albeit with rainfall. Chances of this being on? Don’t know the full detail of how fucked or not your pitch is.
  10. If they were grown men, aye. Let he who hasn’t been a daft wee boy cast the first stone, so to speak, though. It’s obviously not good at all, but just stick some cops up where the buses are and put the frighteners up them if they’re caught. You don’t think about consequences at that age and they’re probably just looking to get a chase. It’s easy to say “wee b*****ds, ban them” but what does it achieve in the long run? Another couple of hours bored, with time to kill on a Saturday afternoon. Actually better to get them in and involved than do that. Not a reward by any means, but getting them to “volunteer” to do a bit of graft for a few weeks would be a better path imo.
  11. The team who scores most goals will win the game.
  12. Felt that postponement might be beneficial to us. We’re certainly in a better spot than we were for the initial game. If we can get something at Stark’s Park, we can get something here. As with any fixture in this league, anything can happen.
  13. Just want to say a good evening to any of the “but, but, but…” Perth bores who’ve been haunting us all week.
  14. What a thoroughly silly sport. Lovely stuff.
  15. Pleased to see a wee bit of progress in terms of elections to the committee. I hope it can open the door to greater discussions around structure and transparency. The days of electing people to hide away in a room without involving the wider support have to come to an end. I’ve said from the very beginning of the huge change around Queen’s Park, that we couldn’t truly grow until it took the people who already care about the club along with them. That hasn’t happened. It’s still an imperative in terms of any success we might have in the future. This can still work, but it has to feel inclusive.
  16. Won’t make it, but the proxy is in. First time I’ve ever bothered with such a thing.
  17. Aye. The idea that we’re getting a damage free manager is mental.
  18. Perth Tories crying about a double cup winning manager, whilst lapping up the slop served by serial loser Levein. Up the road, lads.
  19. Certainly a positive. A big one. However, it means nothing unless we have structure, stability, transparency and unity. The first two can’t be judged immediately, as things will need to change and then settle on the park. However, there’s no way that the latter two can be achieved without fresh new ideas. So much time and money has been wasted as a result of mismanagement. Nobody has really taken responsibility for any of it at any point. The feel good factor of a new coach cannot gloss over any of this and should change nothing. Two new faces going for the committee on Thursday and they are the only hope of forcing any sort of change of culture at the club. Business as usual otherwise, which will result in the same mistakes being made by the same people. Davidson is a start, but that’s all.
  20. Agree, but you still jump at Man United when they come calling. Very decent money swilling around the academy levels in England, as well as what’s likely to be a decent signing on fee. Will give him a security that most would give their right arm for. A lot of these kids are talented, but it’d be easy to wander when four or five grand per week is dropping into the bank account. Hopefully keeps the heid because he definitely has a chance. Freakishly good with the ball at his feet for a sixteen year old.
  21. Unbelievable move for McKenna. Definitely looks the real deal and hope he can keep progressing down there. People moving to Ajax and Man United and appointing a manager who won a Scottish Cup and League Cup in the same season, all whilst in a relegation battle in the Scottish Championship. One day/week/month/year of normality please.
  22. Anyone we were going to get was either going to have some sort of damage on their CV or have no experience. Stark isn’t highly thought of at Saints and Coyle had a disaster at County before joining us. Both great Queen’s Park managers. You wonder where Davidson might have ended up if he’d walked away from Saints after that double cup win? Surely enough for a gig in the English championship at that point. Never understood why he stayed on after that. The only way was down. Happy enough and obviously wish him all the very best. Keep us up and see what the summer brings is the immediate task.
  23. Could be completely wrong, but I reckon Haughey is smashing the “f**k it” button and properly going for it here. Why would Davidson knock back a Premiership team and decide a few months later that he really fancied a relegation scrap in the Championship? Would he really come here for League One or mid-table Championship football next season? He has a reputation to repair.
