As I've posted elsewhere, I'd imagine the development fee would be at least £100K. He's been with us since he was young boy.
You might get Hibs, Aberdeen or Hearts meeting that fee, but I'm not sure that he's good enough for them. English league 1 or 2?
Should be interesting to see where he ends up.
Of course, depending on how this plays out, there's a slim chance he stays with us.
I remember Steve Evans saying the top clubs in League 2 were paying £400K p/a so I’m not sure where the lads next move is as he would struggle to get a top of L2, bottom of L1 club.

Maybe it was the heat of the moment but my initial thought after that red card was to terminate Small's loan spell and send him back to Southampton. Absolute lunacy from him.
I initially felt the same but it would send a terrible message to any club thinking of loaning players to us in the future and wouldn’t be well received by the dressing room.
The boy made a mistake and I’m sure will be fined appropriately but he probably needs an arm round his shoulder more than he needs punted.

I’m looking forward to seeing Tony Fitz driving the open top bus through town with our top 6 trophy being held aloft.
In reality though it is a highly manufactured achievement that actually means very little but it does show as a club how we have progressed both on and off the pitch.
Despite the performance today we have managed 44 points over 33 games, so plenty to be proud of

Might need to listen to Morrissey at HT to cheer me up.

St Mirren haven’t won enough 1st and 2nd balls and are getting over run in the middle of the park, 2-0 probably flatters Killie but absolutely deserve to be in the lead.

Yeah we had a VAR batshit call against your team a couple of weeks ago. I don’t wish you any harm though and hope you win. Tony Watt to score a double. You do need to stop Armstrong though.
If we were one of the cheeks……….one of our pals in the media would write a story about us signing him.

You can see why they would be confused.

Stephen Robinson would be an astute appointment imo.
Great shout, bigger budget, crowds and a genuine top six team with 2 cup wins in recent history.

So you think the league is stronger even thou Celtic are heading for 100 points and scoring 100 goals?
As the only team to beat you this season, absolutely

It's an interesting point, Ange hasn't used the Scottish market think Siegrist is the only player hes got on a free but when you look at that St Mirren squad it's full of players from this league and a big part in you guys making the top six.
The league is better for it, the days of the OF signing the best players from the rest and mostly benching them does the league no good in the Bosman era, without large transfer fees.
If anything, you need a stronger league, even just to improve perception from players you want to sign, otherwise you get comments like the ones from the Japanese national manager and that does nothing to help you attract players.

No we understand why. We currently aren’t good enough that’s why, no big secret there mate
We do so enjoy the media telling us we don’t provide enough competition for you though and why it’s our fault you don’t win against better teams. Too many teams happy to park the bus and go for damage limitation, when we should attack you and get hammered instead.

Hopefully we start well on Saturday and get an early goal, if we do I think the Killie heads will go down.
As an aside, one thing that really sticks out is the players who have played for Robbo before and wanted to again. He seems to get the best out of them and they play their best football under him; Watt, OHara, Main, Carson, added to all the comments about it being the best dressing room others have been part of.

We really need to be switched on in our own penalty area tomorrow. Astonishingly St Mirren were awarded 3 penalties in a single match earlier this season. Another 2 were awarded to them in the first half of their recent match against Livi.
Their awarded penalty count of 8 so far this season is a massive 33% higher than the league average of 6.
Just stand off them in the box. Don’t give the referee an opportunity to give anything.
Don’t worry, apparently it evens up over the season………………or so I’ve heard.

So who is going to drop down to the Scottish Championship? I'm going to make a bold prediction and say it won't be Wrexham.

I can only guess Alex Rae, Broxy Bear, Kris Boyd and Coisty were busy.
You honestly couldn’t make this up.

I think all clubs who have been in administration or liquidated should have massive points deduction that table.
That would place St Mirren above Rangers, Hearts, Motherwell, Dundee.
I did smile when I saw a caveat next to 13th but not 2nd.

Sevco to get 4 penalties, one of which where they ask the Rangers striker if it was a penalty…………………nah that could never happen without some sort of inquiry into match fixing…………….

I think we were van Bronckhorst's final game too. I think Ross managed another game or two this season. Hammell got binned shortly after we beat Motherwell I think, can't remember how soon though.
A worrying amount of confidence on this thread and talk of making Europe. Years of supporting Saints has me convinced we're going to screw up a fantastic position, so until we have top six secured I'm not too fussed how we do it - if it's by Hearts winning next week then so be it.
Totally agree with you. Hammarby, 9 man Rangers, Hamilton away……………has shown us that we can always find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.,
Its the St Mirren way.
I think I will go with cautiously optimistic

I was just going off of what Martindale has said, and what he's said St Mirren players had said to be fair. If not then fair enough, i don't think it changes the outcome of the game either way. Would be interesting to know if VAR can step in on it though
Watching it online, it wasn’t even close. Suspect he was engaging in a bit of deflection.
