As much as I like Akers he was underwhelming last season although he was playing with a hip injury. If we go down the draft route I'd happily take Caleb Sturgis from Florida.

According to NFL.com theres talk of Kolb going to the Jets. That'd leave the Jets with 5 or 6 QB's (can't remember which). Kolb played under offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg at the Steelers.

Glover Quin to Detroit confirmed

Detroit have re-signed CB Chris Houston (no financial details as of yet). Also signed DE Jason Jones from Seattle (according to sources). Played under Schwartz at the Titans.

Akers has been released. Any thoughts as to who the 49'ers will go for? Speaking of kickers still anxiously waiting on Hanson deciding his future, would be gutted to see him go.
