  1. Watson has been one of our best players in the last couple of games. He had been in and out of the team and seems to have finally settled in a little bit more. Also, Tokarczyk in goals tonight for Montrose as they were humped 7-0 by Stirling Albion.
  2. Trialist right back playing for U20's against Hamilton this evening. Any idea who it could be?
  3. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/6846756/Falkirk-in-loan-swoop-to-bring-back-Conor-McGrandles-from-Norwich.html?CMP=spklr-_-Editorial-_-TWITTER-_-scotsunsport-_-20160107-_-SunScotSport-_-325386043-_-Imageandlink Mentioned on Twitter there is also competition from Premiership clubs, so doesn't look to be a stick on.
  4. A Hibs fan page on Facebook saying that Liam Craig has signed a two-year deal...
  5. http://m.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/kilmarnock-to-sign-ex-hearts-man-jamie-macdonald-1-3808905 At least this confirms what we thought was going to happen for weeks. Free to search for a new number one now.
  6. What a write off of a season. I didn't expect much going into it to be honest, but I did think we would finish 4th and not doing so, in my book, is a failure. The table doesn't lie - Queen of the South deserve to be there ahead of us and fair play to them, but I think serious questions have to be asked as to why we will, barring a miracle, be finishing 5th. Houston's signings in the main, as we know, have not been good enough - but this has been been more of a problem this year with the competition being much stiffer compared to other years when Pressley and Holt have perhaps had a bit more leniency to sign dross and get away with it. His tactics could be called into question, although not too many people were complaining about the football being played in our long unbeaten run at the start of the year. Too many draws will ultimately cost us, but the fact we have missed Loy so much has been incredibly worrying and doesn't look good for next season if we are so reliable on one player to make us tick. I do think the people, especially on One F, who have called for Houston to go are going a bit far - I'd give him all of next season to see where we are at the end of a campaign which hasn't been such a freak league. As for the semi next week - I am fearing the worst. If Loy, as we all expect, won't be playing - we also have various other first teamers who we are all too aware can't play. The fact we can't seem to score, have a back line which is looking increasingly fragile, and are playing a Hibs team that will be buoyant after deservedly beating Hearts today, is not making me optimistic at all.
  7. John Baird signs new one year contract until end of season 2015/16, with option of another year. Good news.
  8. Meh. Good player, had a fantastic season last year and scored a number of vital goals for us. Hasn't been as good this season, but still one of our most creative players. Will be missed, but is replaceable IMO. Good luck to him.
  9. Scotland's transfer window still has 45 minutes left to go.
  10. Brian Graham would be a good signing. Never an SPL player but good at this level.
  11. I agree, and it really annoys me when people seriously refer to Farid as a legend. You can't play for one season and be a legend. Cult hero, not a legend.
  12. Jamie MacDonald was a pretty big signing, I thought.
  13. Maybury will hardly be playing and I think Houstie will bring in a left back as Dick not ready yet, along with a striker to partner Loy hopefully.. Midfield also apparently operating a new system and got to remember the new boys need to gel as well, hardly played with eachother. No need to panic.
  14. Kingsley is a sensational player - one of the very best our academy has produced. Great at going forward when playing left-back and also very, very able defensively as well and can comfortably play centre back. I think he'll go very far. I never actually thought Fulton was that great to be honest - very skilful, but I thought he was slow, lazy, and ducked out of tackles far too often. But hey, he's at Swansea and has played in the BPL, so what do I know.
  15. Would imagine it will be Thistle because they are in a league above us, have more money, and a section of our fans were dicks to him. He did bring quite a lot of it on himself in fairness, but some of the tweets he got sent, especially towards the end of his time with us, were pretty off.
  16. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/482065/Peter-Houston-honours-pledge-to-Bairns Linking us with Darren Barr or James Fowler as player-coach. Also claims Duffie has verbally agreed a new 2 year contract with us - surely something happened between him and Holt.
  17. Houstie would be exactly the kind of appointment I reckon would get a number of fans excited and back onside again - which means he probably won't get it. Call me a pessimist, but our board now have a track record of incredibly underwhelming managerial appointments and I can't help but thinking this trend will only continue this time round. Holt was one of the most baffling and unexciting appointments they could have made - he did okay, but I do think a decent manager with at least some experience would have known how to win the league last season and with that squad would have done so, so for me, Holt's spell can be summed up as "a huge chance missed". This time around, we know we won't win the league this season, and this could allow us to actually build a team with some patience from the fans that could put in a title challenge the following season. I just think we need an experienced manager with a previous record to do that, though.
  18. If Holt has indeed gone (!), then he goes with my best wishes. He seemed like a ok enough guy - I never really took to him however, there was just something about him that I didn't particularly like, but hey ho, can't like them all. Next.
