  1. What`s the time scale at Fir Park? Who`ll be representing the club on the 14th? As you say, a Yes vote will possibly have more consequences for you (and St Mirren) than for other clubs. I`d hate for these initiatives to be fatally soured before they even get off the ground.
  2. I can understand why you might have doubts and even why you are cynical about what`s to happen but what have you HEARD that suggests it`s the biggest cop out in history. I have`nt heard anything other than the SFA are stepping in because of the SPL`s incompetence. I take it you at least agree with the sentiment. Let`s keep an open mind until the SFA proposals are made public which , given the timescales involved, must be very soon.
  3. Don`t care. End game for me was always relegate Newco and use the situation to force reconstruction. If it takes an accomodation which relegates them only one division to achieve the latter I`ll take it.
  4. Must admit I was a bit down yesterday with the Cardigan/Traynor conspiracy seemingly riding to the rescue of Newco. I thought the pressure that would be brought upon the SPL Chairmen by the media would have been pretty much unbearable. That was until Super Spency this afternoon and his comments on season ticket sales (which has been little mentioned so far). According to the Ginger One ST sales for many of our clubs have flatlined and in his words these clubs are facing facing financial Armageddon. Yorkston of the Pars then added that whilst his club had sold in excess of 1200 STs he knows of Prem clubs who had sold only one or two hundred. Even some of the idiots who run our clubs must accept that the consequences of admitting Newco (with or without sanctions) directly to the SPL will cause a financial hit far greater than the loss of TV money and an away support will provide. This has been talked of at length on this and other sites but does`nt seem to have been actualy publically co-ordinated so I think it`s taken the Chairmen and the media by surprise a little. There`s now little talk (even from Traynor or Young) of `keyboard warriors` and `they say that now but they`ll renew`. It`s what will relegate Newco to the 3rd . Take a bow guys. I now honestly can`t see where they`ll get the 8 votes from.
  5. Wrong. Reconstruction is exactly what we need and it can`t come soon enough. There`s no way that Newco will be allowed into a top le ague run by the SFA/SFL. in the current climate. For diddy teams this is just about the best we had hoped for if true.
  6. Fat Sal threatens to walk away on the day that Wallygator and his gang make their move.........the whole thing stinks. Story broken by Traynor.......the stink gets worse. Only the journalists in this country would`nt question such a convenient coincidence which piles the pressure on a wavering media never mind the new owner. Can you imagine the upping of pressure on the SPL Chairmen now? Who`d possibly deny Uncle Watty and the martyr McCoist. A stitch up and enough to make you vomit. PTFC. Glasgow`s oldest professional football team.
  7. Made it to the end of the thread for the first time. Now off to the pub. Proud supporter of Glasgow`s second biggest team.
  8. Given the they need 8 votes for the motion an abstention is effectively a No vote.................I think that`s right.
  9. Probably been asked before but what`s the procedure for the actual SPL chairmen vote? Could it be by anon vote thus giving them an individual out when the Newco motion is passed 8 - 4. Just see them claiming `it wisnae us, we voted with integrity and are stand up guys......it wis 8 other guys wot done it!`
  10. Got cut off in the car about an hour ago and shouted at the idiot driver that he was a f*****g cockwomble. Wife just looked at me. It`s all your bloody fault, the lot of you! I never used language like that before.
  11. Best idea for the last 200 pages. Quite simple to put........The professional game in Scotland has been proven to be corrupt at the highest level and our guardians( the SPL) refuse to take actions neccessary to protect the integrity of our sport. Have UEFA as the ultimate authority for football been appraised of developments and to they intend to take action?
  12. You including firhill in this chum? Can`t for the life of me think what we`ve done to deserve it but there you go.
  13. Things seem to have changed subtly since lunchtime. The lunchtime news and subsequent news breaks on Radio Scotland was not only stating that they would appeal but actualy discussing whether that appeal should be directed at a Civil court or the Court of Sport administration for the faster resolution. This evening..........nothing (apart from Mr Green having had a positive meeting with the SPL/SFA). They don`t seem to be discussing appeals now, so what`s happened?
  14. They`ve been talking for 30min now...........how long can it take to find them guilty and increase the sanctions?
  15. Couple of questions........... Won`t the SPL decision be made on an anonymous basis so that the voting clubs don`t suffer `undue` pressure or be subject to backlash? Who paid for the overnight stay at the hotel for the St Johnstone game? Surely even Haudit and Daudit would`nt sign off on that piece of Babylonian extravegance
  16. I think the forthcoming BBC documentary might be quite insightful on this (if of course the latest injunction fails)
  17. Do`nt forget Cowan`s involvement. Seriously, his presence at the table is a huge concern and you just have to hope that his two fellow committeemen have a bit of backbone and some integrity.
  18. I know it`s been said before in the thread but it seems obvious that Kennedy and his fellow conspirators intend to wait until liquidation is a reality and then step in as the saviours of this `great institution`. It`s a win win situation. They already have the support and media onside. There can be no other reason for that press conference on Friday and they`ve put the new preferred bidders in an impossible position even if their proposals are genuine or remotely workable.
  19. Is`nt the strangest part of this the fact that a team with so many thousands of supporters (which apparently includes countless top businessmen and millionaires) and a supportive media, can`t come up with what is in the big scheme of things a fairly insignificant amount to buy this Scottish `institution` which is apparently loved by millions throughout the world
  20. It appears the Alan Cowan (ex Thistle board) will be one of those on the appeal committee. This is not good news.
