  1. Clydebank didn't fold, their fans has raised the money to buy the club only for Jim Ballantyne to outbid them at the last minute and move them to Airdrie as Airdrie United due to Airdrieonians folding the previous year.
  2. Brilliant performance yesterday and over the last few months. I'll admit after Bonnyrigg I could only see Stevie A getting us relegated. But that game seemed to be a turning point. We became much more attacking (particularly away from home). Great achievement again. Looking forward to next weekend to celebrate making it official.
  3. Yup it's the sort of stuff Alan Adamson was saying every week and it was self fulfilling
  4. There must be some manager without a club right now who could take a part time team that's in a mess to safety in the championship?
  5. But we haven't worn it consistently for 50 years. One of our best strips was the black and gold diadora strip. If we're talking white strips why not replicate this one:
  6. Get out of the 70's our colours are black and gold. The white strips aren't our traditional colours.
  7. While I don't want Aitken to go if he did then I still think it would be silly to not even consider the manager who achieved our highest league finishes for 30 years and who is currently available. Particularly as none of the other names speculated about inspire confidence.
  8. Your entitled to your opinion on Murray and Ross but its just that, there is no proof that Ross was some sort of mastermind - in fact going on his brief time as our interim manager (which was woeful) and his time at Alloa there is little to support that. Murray kept us in the league 3 seasons running (all fairly comfortably) so if Aitken was to go he would be an ideal replacement.
  9. Don't follow this - Murray finished 7th, 5th then 7th in his 3 seasons Aitken managed 8th yet we wouldn't consider taking Murray back. What's all this about assistant manager - is the suggestion that Jack Ross was somehow the mastermind behind the scenes????
  10. I'm not sure why we wouldn't consider Murray as a replacement if Aitken goes.
  11. I think the "this better not happen" was in relation to my suggestion of Ian Murray as a replacement if Stevie Aitken goes.
  12. So there's a good shout for a certain Ian Murray to return.
  13. Would it be the worst thing if he moved on? Think he's done a decent job but if he went then fair enough (not saying I actively want him to leave) while we achieved the goal of staying up there were some right dodgy performances and without Nade the goal machine who knows...... First person to mention Jack Ross as a potential replacement gets a red dot.
  14. Gutted to see the legend go. True superstar.
  15. Still getting used Sons signing players I've actually heard of. Hopefully Nade can help pull us away from the bottom 3 and take some workload of Gary Fleming.
  16. Tend to agree with the comments not getting the fuss about Jack Ross. He was the boss for one of the most inept Sons performances ever - 5-1 home defeat to Morton. If memory serves we were 5-0 down with the Morton players acting like it was a training session. Absolutely woeful performance and probably one of the main reasons the board, rightly, didn't give him the job.
  17. From BBC Sports Gossip: Former Falkirk favourite Pedro Mouthino has joined Dumbarton for pre-season training.
  18. Gutted Murray's gone but good luck to him. No dinosaurs please, we need either an up and coming manager or take a punt on another ex pro. Should follow the same process as last time and advertise to see who fancies it. Don't go straight to an out of work manager.
  19. I spoke to one of the players on Friday night, who subsequently has re-signed for us, and his comment was that Murray had been hounding him to make a decision. So I think Murray is still focussed on the job.
  20. I spoke to one of the players on Friday night, who subsequently has re-signed for us, and his comment was that Murray had been hounding him to make a decision. So I think Murray is still focussed on the job.
  21. I have obviously missed when it was announcement he had applied for another job. Where was that announced? Btw I'm serious I haven't read back all the thread so if it's been announced that he has applied for another job (St.Mirren I presume) I missed it. There was nothing mentioned by Aggy when I spoke to him on Friday (he may not have been in the know) he only mentioned that Murray had been chasing him for a decision on his future.
  22. That makes no sense whatsoever. If he's been so successful that bigger clubs are looking at him then we should want to hold on to him. It's hardly "best for both parties."
