  1. 72 holes coming up over the next 3 days - Ladybank & Tulliallan tomorrow, Drumoig on Sunday and Piperdam on Monday. I'm going to be a gibbering mess on Tuesday, in all probability.
  2. Really frustrating day yesterday - lovely conditions, sitting on +4 after 11 holes, putting really nicely. Then proceeded to double bogey 5 of the last 7 holes, mainly caused by poor chipping around the greens. For some reasons, whichever wedge I used kept sliding right under the ball despite the turf being pretty firm. To keep making the same mistake time after time was infuriating when on a really nice score. Grrrr. Still, at least I couldn't complain about the weather

  4. Yeah, good read that. Surprised they missed out his time as Hearts Chairman/Chief Executive, though...
  5. If you're in the Fife area, Wellsgreen use PGA-certified pros and stock pretty much every major manufacturer that you'd need - I found comparing different brands to be most instructive. Good service there, too.
  6. Aye, the usual complaint from greenkeepers in April is that it's too dry and cold to get decent growth in the turf (which really needs a ground temperature of at least 7 or 8 degrees to get going properly) but at least with cold/dry Aprils they can get out and prep everything ready for when they can get the cutters down, so this April has really set everyone back, and I dread to think the last time the majority of courses managed to get their fairways cut this year. I've been saying for years that golf clubs need to get out of the mindset of playing competition golf in late May/early April, instead extending the season into end October/beginning November, as at least most (parkland) courses generally aren't suffering from a high water table later in the season as opposed to after a wet winter.
  7. Hopefully things dry out a bit for you, otherwise you might be better joining the Kirky Kayaks.
  8. The tendency I've noticed is to compare Scheffler with Tiger at every opportunity due to his dominance, but his ball control and demeanour remind me of Nicklaus in the 70's. He's that damn good at the moment.
  9. Aberg's attitude has been superb, I'm looking forward to watching him have a stellar career if he keeps that going.
  10. Say what you like about how boring Scheffler is, but he really knows how to keep his foot on the throat of the rest of the field. Which is somewhat ironic when you consider his fancy dance steps at the point of impact.
  11. Looks like someone went in the bunker and moved it...
  12. Only if you're aiming straight at the flag. Which Scheffler won't with any kind of lead.
  13. Anyone walking back to the tee after losing a ball in a bounce game needs a kicking. Of course, these days, they may be putting a card in for WHS and you've no way of knowing...
