  1. We went to a transvestite cabaret show In Blackpool with my work a few years ago and they started taking the piss out of one of my colleagues. Whe we hurriedly pointed out that he was mentally handicapped and was about to burst into tears, the main drag queen got all sheepish and weirdly coy and it kind of spoiled the show. Ha ha, I hope you felt rotten you stubbly, yet weirdly attractive freaks!
  2. I see your argument, but in this specific instance it was about parenting so the fact of being a parent makes his point more valid.
  3. I had heard great things about this movie, but I thought it was terrible. Unfunny, laboured and pointless.
  4. Tonigt saw theinaugral Pizza Hut Stirling vs Comet Stirling grudge 7 -a side match. Comet won 6-5 , the hi-fi selling b*****ds.
  5. The one who did the delivery was Allie. There was a Jill there too. There were others, but I forget their names to be honest. They were brilliant though.
  6. Cheers! No, he's my second son and I've got a 15 year old step-daughter, too. Yep - Stirling was really quiet too. We were the only ones in the labour suite! Incidentally, can't praise the midwives enough. They were absolutely fantastic. Caring, compassionate, friendly, but efficient and professional as well.
  7. Cheers folks! Here's the man of the moment weighing in at 7lb 5oz.
  8. My partner gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last night at 11.30pm! Mother and baby are doing really well -in fact, I'm collecting them at 9 o'clock today to go home. His name is Joseph and he's wonderful!
  9. Making up the bottles has to be the most frustrating thing ever. I always got distracted and lost count of the scoops ('' That dog has a puffy tail! TEE HEE!!'')and would have to discard the whole sorry mess and start again. Immensely annoying. Congratuations ND and Skyline Drifter. Thomas is a wee cracker! We're due on the 18th March and looking at those pictures of a real , live baby sort of brings it home to you that there's going to be a othermember of your family soon. Up to theis point, my partner and I are sort of concentraiting on getting orgamised for the birth and the aftermath and that and all the kind of practical stuff, but we've not really considered all the good stuff - like having an actual new baby in our lives, if you know what I mean.
  10. Wanted 3/10 Pretty dreadful, to be honest. A bit like a poor mans Fight Club at the beginning (and last 5 minutes) and then becoming more and more ludicrous as it went on. So many plot holes...
  11. Yeah, it seems to abate for a bit, but she's seen the biggest difference in the things shes eating. She loves tangerines and clementines and that, but stopped eating them and it doesn't seem as bad now.
  12. My girlfriends getting really bad heartburn.Sh's 34 weeks now, still getting reallybad sickness and she's had to cut any acidic or fatty foods which seemed to exacerbate the problem. She had it during her last pregnancy throughout as well. She signed up for a thing at our local chemist which means she gets free Gaviscon. I can confirm that they're chalkily more-ish.
  13. I'm in the middle of that just now. It's really excellent - a slow burner.
  14. I get you now. Can't say it irritates me that much. Unlike 'PIN number', say.
  15. Maybe I'm being thick, but that's two options. 1st Option: Bhuna 2nd Option: Korma
  16. That is a startlingly low mark for one of the greatest films of all time. Despite a ridiculous premise, this is actually a fairly competent action movie. A bit like Con Air or something. Great film. And I hate dogs! It's a real family movie. It was my daughter's favourite when she was little and now my son loves it. I just watched Hancock. It was initially pretty decent, but faded about two thirds in and just became a bit ...bleh 6/10
  17. haha...more like 30, nimble and slightly wary, but yeah...I like Morrissey!

  18. Watched a couple of good films: The Dark Knight - very good, but not 'the best film of the year' or anything. Probably on a par with Daredevil, to be honest ( Hey, I liked it). Heath Ledger was fine in it, but it's easy to play a mad character; much more difficult to play an understated role, like that of a mumbling bummer. Kung Fu Panda- 8/10- surprisingly, very funny. And once you looked beyond the fat jokes, some of the fight scenes were beautifully and stylishly executed.
  19. 1. I once, somehow, got dogshit on my sleeve of my jacket when I was in first year and I had been voted class representative and there was a big meeting of all the class reps i the last period and everyone was like, 'eww whats that smell?' and I blamed it on my friend, who was quite posh, by saying that he must have 'rich farts' because of all the 'plum puddings and duck and stuff that he eats.' His status at high school never quite recovered. 2. I am awesome at Scrabble and love to play it. 3. I hate using the phone to do any sort of organising or asking for stuff or anything that's not a chat really. It's pretty pathetic, but I'll get my girlfriend to phone a takeway because it makes me feel so uncomfortable. 4. I have trouble pissing if there's someone beside me so I'll cover up the fact there's no noise of pish splashing into the urinal or trough by coughing, sneezing and doing big dirty pleghmy spits. 5. I deal with conflict or awkwardness by using humour and I go home wracked with feelings of cowardice and inadequacy ...
  20. Just finished 'The Brass Verdict' by Michael Connelly which is the sequel to 'The Linclon Lawyer'. Pretty much classic Connelly, though I felt the ending was rather weak.
  21. I have had this in the house for two years and never watched it yet. Shame on me.
  22. Uncle Buck 8/10 Classic heartwarming 80s comedy. John Candy is great in it.
