  1. Grant Adam signs a 2 year deal with St Mirren...wish him all the best as he was a decent keeper while he was playing on loan for us last season. Adam earns St Mirren deal
  2. There should be a Government Health Warning with those avatars of yours...my blood pressure goes through the roof with each one you use
  3. Wow,things are really looking up when an Airdrie Utd fan gets to feel the love from a Partick Thistle fan Must be something in that French air you're breathing as for Italia 90,yes i have heard the stories, and saw the pics of a trip there by some of the lads. They were probably pished anyway, would never have known who or what you were Were not all nasties mind you, some of us even have our own teeth, and buy a round
  4. Well Yoss to clear up the matter on what you want to know, just read the full thread...several Airdrie United fans (myself included)have posted on here, and not one of them has said they claim us to be a continuation of Airdrieonians. It is a near impossibility for it to be anyhow,as we are a renamed Clydebank, who were relocated to Airdrie. How can i answer the "i support Airdrie because i have and always will be an Airdrie fan" bit due to both clubs having Airdrie in their name.I can't speak for all,but know enough of the fanbase to say,as i have said previously that we do know the new club is not a continuation of the old club.As i keep saying,we have choices to support whoever we want,i chose my local side as many of the real fans did,we even talked about following them as a junior side if we could have reformed Airdrieonians as a junior outfit. It wasn't to be,but Mr Ballantyne brought football back to our town in the form of Airdrie United,it was never ever going to be the same, but it gave the town a team to follow. So i am unsure what else you need to clarify this,as the first comment i read from you on this was the one of saying Airdrie Utd fans think we are a continuation of the old Airdrieonians....well that is just BS....there may be a handful, but i can assure you the rest don't think of Utd as this.
  5. Once more you are very good at assuming, but also very wrong again. I followed Airdrieonians as well, same reason,my local side.Next time you are along introduce us to these good number of fans who see us as the same club, and i will introduce you to many, many more who know WE ARE NOT THE OLD CLUB ANY MORE. I have followed an Airdrie side in one form or another for more years than i care to remember, both home and away, and i can assure you these so called people are very quiet, and if do as you say are very small in number.
  6. STV quoted that Beattie said he was only using the training facilities to get his fitness level back up.He said that was all,and has had no negotiations for any contract.
  7. Or it could be as someone pointed out earlier in the thread,he needs an op for a recurring injury. He may not last 3 years playing for anyone. So this could be an easy choice for him knowing he wont be fit enough for an SPL club and Sevco are desperate for players.
  8. According to the STV news, the so called meeting between Charles Green and the SFA did not take place today. Is Chuck telling porkies again,Fifa/Uefa meetings, now SFA ones that are denied.
  9. As i stated in my previous message...it was my local side.I chose long ago not to follow the OF.For your info if you actually came along and spoke to the fanbase you would be surprised that very few if any consider us to be the old club,so how is that a bit odd.
  10. Why shouldn't we,we chose not to follow the Old Firm, and preferred to follow a local side.As they play out of the same rented stadium,i fail to see what the problem is.I can honestly say i will win this bet in stating i know a hell of a lot more Airdrie Utd fans than you do.We follow the club, but do know it is no longer the old Airdrieonians. We would like our old club back, but it wont ever happen. They died, and we now follow a renamed Clydebank....not an incarnate,or newco etc...and already existing club that is now renamed to Airdrie United. No shit Sherlock,we would be in a hell of a state if we didn't try to run the club similarly to the old one,or any one as a matter of fact. All clubs need a Chairman, board members, staff, players and a place to play at. Seeing as the Board are different, the badge is different, the team name is different...even the stadium name is now different,i think we can establish were not the old club.We may still play in a similar strip to the old team, and yes our manager and a couple of the coaches used to play for Airdrieonians, but they also played for various other clubs as well.So apart from those last few mentioned items i fail to see what the point is here. Airdrie United does not = Airdrieonians,we know that and keep getting reminded of it.So you can sadly keep thinking what you like about us,we know what we are....and it isn't Onians.
  11. Nah,she's in the kitchen having a smoke,if he is quick he can grab a new bulb and lock himself in before she realises what he's up to.
  12. No offence and all that, you having a laugh.Just because were Airdrie United fans means we are not allowed to have a comment on what is right or wrong.Airdrie never cheated or committed fraud to be where they are. As for dropping three divisions,we could argue that is not true as they are meant to be a newco, now that the SFA seem to be handing them back their history though i would probably have say sadly it is true. My heart bleeds for them going a year without being able to sign any players. It should have started from now,and not allow them to have an opportunity to buy the best players they can to get an easy ride back to the 1st,possibly the SPL. And what did the Romans do for us,well for me they gave a great day out.Hadrians wall is a great little visit.
  13. And on this i will agree.I was gutted for,and still feel for Clydebank. It was not how i wanted for it to be,just to be able to watch an Airdrie side playing once more at New Broomfield.
  14. For your information,Airdrie at that point didn't exist.Jim Ballantyne placed a bid in for an about to be liquidated company, and was the highest bidder. They then renamed Clydebank to Airdrie United.Technically we are still Clydebank as has been pointed out by others. So i fail to see how this is classed as more distasteful than a club that cheated and ran up huge debts, including tax fraud for up to 20 years or more, has been allowed to continue as a newco with the oldco history, wiped out almost all the debt, had a slap on the wrist by being placed in the 3rd,but allowed to now build a team that could take them all the way back up again. It may be me,but i fail to see how were the worse of the 2 scenarios. Airdrie United were never to be allowed into SFL for reasons that seem to have been forgotten for Ranger. We were rejected in favour of Gretna,as newco should have been for Spartans. Bigger companies have went to the wall without ever cheating anyone, let alone the taxman, but somehow the powers that be have eased a cheat and fraud back into our game.Only now they will be a little better off long term.
  15. Why is it unreasonable to rid yourself of something that is not good. They will up and leave us in a flash if the English league accepts them,or there is an European league started. So don't try and kid yourself on that we would miss them, they certainly wouldn't miss us.If this had been any other club bar the OF that cheated HMRC for years,we would not be having this discussion. They would have been added to history of clubs that cease to exist in Scotland. Butter it up any way you want, but they have got off very lightly, everything will be the same in a few years minus their massive debts. They will only gloat at us to remind us that they were too big for us too kill off, when actually all it is,is that our FA has succumed to the temptation of greed. If SKY was not an issue they would have buried Rangers long ago.It just proves how greedy they actually are by now negotiating a 25 match tv deal to watch them in the 3rd,why the feck wasn't there a 25 match deal for the lower divisions before now. So they may be on paper the most successful side in the world, their fans may gloat on their history.......but when they remove the red, white and blue spectacles and see them as the rest of Scotland does, they will then realise that there is nothing of the last 20 years or more to be proud of Rangers FC for.
  16. Try telling that to the many voices on this forum then, they have more than wanted rid of the vile bigotry and cheating of this so called Scotlands most successful team. For months now,and well over 3000 pages, many have said worse than i have in saying a chance was missed to rid of this. And it was.Same name, same strip, same stadium, same fanbase,So basically nothing will have changed except they get to write off over £100 million pounds of debt from tax evasion and cheating.
  17. You get past the last defender, you're now 1 on 1 with the keeper. You round the keeper and have an empty goal gaping, you let fly with a shot, only to see it go flying high over the bar into the crowd. This is how we must feel at the effort put into getting shot of them once and for all.We had did everything right apart from finishing it off.The transfer embargo is a joke,it allows them to get their selves set up for the next few years with players who can get to and even win in the 1st.Chuck will have the money coming in from somewhere,i just have this horrible gut feeling on it.Then we will have to eat humble pie as they gloat their way back to the top, with now what looks like them keeping their history as they accepted the terms put down to them. So it looks like it was a nice try son,but move along now....don't call us we'll call you.
  18. I wouldn't joke about that,it is very strange that he has gone very quiet at such an important time.Having said that some of the orcs fail to believe Fifa/Uefa didn't see him,but feel that the biggest orginization in world football doesn't have enough savvy to check if a Mr Green has made an appointment. If they say NO,it means NO,unless there is something underhand about the meeting. Having said that, this orc set a gauntlet to his fellow diddyco followers.
