  1. Accepted, so long as you can define the "their" in "their interests". If, say, you told the Chairmen of most SPL clubs "We've been on to Sky/ESPN and they're saying there would be no cut in the fee offered" how do you think they would vote on a Newco? Or do you believe it's not about the money?
  2. Apologies if this seems hopelessly naive, but has anyone posed the question to Sky - "Okay, it looks like we may have a wee problem here in providing you with 4 Old Firm clashes for the next few seasons, so what's the script on the TV contract if we can't deliver?" Surely it is possible to get a ball park figure (or no figure, in the very worst case scenario) that would allow some sensible analysis of whether or not there really is a bogeyman out there. Reminds me a bit of the Gruffalo story!
  3. Sorry if this has been posted already but i see that the Express is saying The Rangers are about to lose out in their bid to sign Rino becuase he is now in talks with...... SION!!! LOL!! You couldnae make it up!!
  4. No8, I think you're kidding yourself. You should have been on the Edinburgh to Glasgow train on the afternoon of Saturday 2nd (?) October 2010 to witness what I in all my 60 years have never before experienced. Non stop bile and evil religious singing from a group of fans who had attended the game at Tynecastle that lunchtime. This was a train after 3pm which I thought might be a safe haven for my wife and I. Aside from the usual FTP and the Virgin Mary lyrics we were subjected to songs about the Munich air disaster and the fact that MUFC couldn't field a 5 a side team then others about the death of Tommy Burns. This was "no one likes us, we don't care" in all it's angry ugliness! I engaged one of the number to remonstrate with him, noly to be asked if I suupported the British Army etc etc. I was on the train as were several other people visiting our fair country. For me and them, that was "real trouble with Rangers travelling support domestically"
  5. Hello..... because Rangers (ex Rangers or whatever the f**ck they are/were/will be called) are concerned about the future of the other SPL clubs! You didn't think they are a bunch of self serving........ did you?
  6. Hand on heart I've not read every single post in this thread, but as far as I can see no one has touched on one aspect of the SPL "admit/don't admit the newco" debate. As I understand it you need an 8/4 majority in favour of admitting the newco. Be certain what that means - 8 clubs (okay 7, assuming Rangers or whatever they will be called do actually vote for themselves) have to say "yes". Anything less and they can't be admitted. What it doesn't mean is that 5 clubs or more have to vote "no". As Mr Blair used to say there is a "third way". In any vote it is open to an elector to abstain. Happens a lot in politics so why not in football? Might that not be an option for those chairmen who are so undecided that they can't/won't/are frightened to make a decision. Perhaps that sounds somewhat unlikely, but ask yourself - last Hogmanay, did you predict Rangers to be liquidated?
  7. Over on the Bears Den there's a thread entitled: "Why did Charles Green lie?" The only word missing you feel is "Mummy". It's got an air of "Say it ain't so Joe"
  8. My late father would have been very happy to see this day, but I'm sure there will be much rejoicing in many other places today. I have two daughters one of whom is married to a major Rangers fan and the other has a boyfriend in the same camp. Two nicer guys I can't name and I feel sorry for them for what their club is going through, but as for the knuckle draggers... well I'm delighted Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs have not been fooled by the "loyal" nonsense. My fervent wish and prayer now is that the chairmen of the SPL clubs and indeed the SFA take a similar stance to HMRC. I'm quietly confident they will.
  9. Agreed. I'm self employed and would have taken the same view. If I really was a creditor I would vote the CVA down especially on the basis of all this "signing players" crap that Mr G has been bandying about.
  10. As regards the CVA meeting will it be a secret ballot or will it be transparent who voted it down and who voted it up? If I was a small creditor I'd fear reprisals if it goes down and I voted against it - even though in all probability my vote would count for nothing.
