Exactly - the votes are about entry to the league - not rejection from the league. If nothing happens, nothing happens. A delay of the vote today could really play into the SFL hands. They actually don't even have to have a meeting next week - never mind a vote - and Sevco just wither and die - with nowhere to play,

Todays from The Telegraph Key points :- > SPL vote will be deferred > Evidence of a rethink in some quarters > Rangers? could be admitted if they accept a number of conditions > Clubs now in a more informed position (they understand the bribe better) > SFA deny comments regarding Newco non-admittance > Hutton will almost certainly find himself on a disrepute charge > Proposal is for one team relegated and three promoted next season (just in case they don't win it) > and the same again for the 2013-14 campaign. Bollocks

Extract from todays piece in the Daily Ragtag : Hutton emerged from the SFL’s crunch meeting at Hampden adamant Rangers should be demoted to the Third Division. He rejected proposals to parachute the Ibrox newco into the First and slammed the SPL and its chief executive, Neil Doncaster, for saddling clubs such as Raith with their problem. Hutton, who insists he has been threatened and bullied into making a decision, says the SPL is now unsustainable and branded it a dead parrot. He urged them to disband and allow Scottish football to reinvent itself with top-flight clubs applying for SFL membership instead. After Doncaster warned SFL clubs that as many as six SPL sides would go to the wall if Rangers aren’t allowed into the First Division, a seething Hutton said: “In essence, the SPL is like a dead parrot. It’s financially unsustainable. “So it’s hardly up to the First Division to sustain that. There could maybe be a recognition from the top that accepts the SPL is dead so let’s wind it up. “It hasn’t worked for the past 14 years, it has been a failure. It’s all gone belly-up. “Let’s start again and I’m sure the SFL would welcome applications from teams who are currently in the SPL to join an organisation that is based on sporting integrity. "

I've been following this thread since day one, but for all the talk (rightfully) of integrity - what the hell happened to common sense? Surely there is a sequence of events that HAS to happen in this order :- 1. SFA review Sevco application for membership 2. SPL consider transfer of SPL share to Sevco 3. SFA decide on appropriate punishments for documented indiscretions and legacy punishment transferred to Sevco 4. Sevco apply for membership of SFL 5. SFL clubs vote on Sevco application for SFL3 I'm confused by the events that are now panning out in the wrong order! > How can the SFL vote first (allegedly next week) if the SPL don't vote today? > If indeed the SFL DO vote next week - WHY are they voting on an SFL1 proposal (other than being told to do so). > If the SFL clubs vote NO to SFL1 - what happens then? > Have Sevco even applied for an SFL place yet? > How long does thath process take? > Will they survive at all? and where did the 75% (show of hands) come from?? By my reckoning there are 12 probable No's and 2 abstentions - thats 14/30 just there.... The whole thing is a shambles, a fiasco, a fuckfest, a joke. They should just vote them into the SPL and deal with it themselves. We can continue to support Turnbull and his League of Honour.

Turnbull Hutton is the peoples hero. It would be fantastic if he went through with a move to breakaway and form a "League of Honour" as he implies here - or maybe I'm reading too much into it! “Let’s start again and I’m sure the SFL would welcome applications from some of the teams who are currently in the SPL to join an organisation that is based on sporting integrity. I feel the same as I did when I arrived here today. It’s been a long, tiring, boring day." It seems to me like yesterday was all about assessing the price of integrity - and that shouldn't even come into it. It should be only a matter of principal. Is it right that a team that has never played a game gets entered into the 2nd tier of Scottish Football? No. End of story. For me it's the same argument for Scottish Independance. There are people who say Scotland will be better off, and some people say we'll be worse off. I dont have enough information to judge, and it actually doesn't matter. Scotland, as a nation, should be self-determinant - it's the principal that matters. No-one should find themeselves in a situation where there principles can be bought, or traded. I'm just fed up with the whole thing now - and feel it's all just descended beyond farcical.

Surely if all SPL clubs said YES to Newco on the basis of this then FIFA/UEFA would be down on the SFA like a ton of bricks?? It must be negligent (at the very least) to even include a clause like this which essentially says "we agree to ensure that Rangers will remain in the SPL at all costs in order to fulfil the terms of the contract". It just can't be so?........

Raith Rovers Appreciation Below are the forthcoming fixtures for Raith Rovers FC. Wouldnt it be a great idea to turn up in good numbers to support them in these fixtures? Similarly, all the clubs that have stood shoulder-to-shoulder in the fight for integrity! Whatever happens, the next 2 days are going to be possibly the most critical in the history of Scottish Football. There are 2 ways it can go - and I really don't think there is there is any panacea in-between. If the SFA/SPL/SFA don't do the right thing, for the RIGHT reasons, then there's going to be a huge backlash for both the league and National teams. Hopefully the chairmen will see sense - and take the consequences seriously!

I genuinely struggle to understand why Traynor, Keevans and other sycophants continue to peddle untruths, misconseptions and downright lies regarding the Rangers/ Newco fiasco. Assuming that they're not actually stupid (ok ok) surely they KNOW the truth - and must have some accountability for reporting the truth?
