  1. He's not, that's exactly the point he's trying to make by turning the argument around to focus on what SEVCO fans may think.
  2. Much as it pains me to say , I think this is fair comment. If PMc is indeed the same lawyer, and despite his educative blogs, he loses credibility somewhat with his professional antics. To claim the moral high ground we have to occupy it firmly. You can't do that when you've just lost the right to practice as a lawyer because you failed people miserably. BTW though, absolutely beyond fcuking parody that anyone from SEVCO would call others bigots. It is incomprehensible and shameful.
  3. For HTG, I'm a Glens man masel! I suspect you may be right. And that is making me very sad. It should make me mad.
  4. I'm wondering what to think at this stage. No one appears to be very happy, which normally suggests the pitch is right, if a compromise was what was being sought. However, this only works if the titles etc go. I'm troubled that the EBTs etc will quietly disappear as the diddy attention turns to the season. I've already said I won't be back at Palmy until a full public apology is issued and the Board changes. I'm getting close to packing it in altogether, which leaves me with the juniors or English footie. From my perspective, I'm just hoping something turns up to save the game.
  5. Pretty sure the issues below will have been discussed before, but just wanted to know if anyone else had heard similar murmurings? Before I list them I just want to make it clear I have no idea if they are worthy of consideration, I'm just interested to hear if anyone else had heard about them. 1. Why would a club like Southampton pay money for a player who isn't under contract to any other existing company? Unless the player concerned was contracted to an EXISTING company, which wasn't the one just liquidated, or the one just recently formed. 2. Two clubs are in hoc to a bank. Club A owes an enormous sum, Club B not nearly as much. The bank refuses to bankroll Club B such that they might go into administration. Such a scenario ensures Club A will reap the benefits of near permanent European footballing income to payback the debt to the bank. The decision made by the bank not to support Club B, despite it's much lesser debt, is taken with the full acknowledgement and support of Club A ( all in secret of course, nudge nudge wink wink say no moah) - you owe the bank £100 it's your problem, you owe them £84m, it's the bank's. I seem to recall something to this effect on RTC? I am a sceptic by nature. I was assured that both issues above were evidenced, though I wondered why I'd never seen Daly expose any of it! I'm a bit pished so please excuse the x-file nature of the post. Please tell me it's all shite, it'll make me feel cleaner!
  6. It represents the 12p each and every fan sacrificed to support the club via RFFFFFFFFF.
  7. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This - it might not have been overt, it might never have felt aggressive, but it permeates throughout west lowland society. I might not go as far to say people are lying and accept different family conditions, areas etc. may experience a different story, but to deny it doesn't exist throughout west lowland Scotland is unhelpful in the battle to address it.
  8. Nah, sorry - this argument just doesn't stack up for me. It may have felt more innocent because we were young and immature, and didn't appreciate the full ramifications of what was going on, but where I came from in deepest, darkest Ayrshire, we did know about all of it. It was, and still is, a part of everyday life. It doesn't destroy the love you have for your home, but with hindsight it can darken it; James MacMillan being an example of a response to it. Whiterose Killie may have words to say about me mentioning it, but it seems to me his visceral response to the OF arises as a consequence of the situation that pertains, experienced over many, many years, and from an early age I suspect. I can understand that as children we might not appreciate the 'big picture' and accept this may continue even up until we are exiting our teens. But at some point in our adult development we have to stand back and see it for what it is. It may not be a damascene moment, the picture may unblur over a period of time, but, in spite of the love of whatever football team, at some point you have to make a decision as to what is right and what is wrong. It is wrong to support teams steeped in bigotry, even if you are not bigoted yourself. To do so in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, provides comfort to those who spread hate and intolerance and suggests you don't care. Not to care about something so vile and invidious, is tragic. It was along time evolving, but for me it became a question of morality. The influence may never subside completely, and I don't feel like the 'reformed smoker' type, but I do feel I made the right decision. Mind you..............despite his protestations theres no *%£$%** way my wee lad gets to paint his room red, white and blue (see what I did there?)! I suppose he doesn't have to now anyway !!
  9. Re Sally and Hughie - I've got a Scout AGM coming up if they'd like to come along?
  10. That's just a brilliant description. I'll use that when discussing freemasonry with the Knights who like to say Ni (KOSC).
  11. Hopefully the SAS dealt with it in an appropriately professional manner: cordoned off the area, shot a few turban-wearing individuals etc. Personally I've had little sleep since they had to set up base in Ayr. Lots of unrest around wellington square, as the orcs attack the emblems of the traitorous establishment - mayhem. Bit like the old Friday night piv battles.
  12. Appreciate the sentiment very much. Go to QOS Mad site and read Eugene Ionesco post in SELL OUTS. Sums it up for us all. We were one of the good guys in Scottish Football. Our Board has disgraced us and we are disgusted.
