An interesting summer ahead.
Not totally bothered by the clear-out. Aside from Oakley and Strapp, there aren't any players you'd class as irreplaceable.
Hopefully the purse strings are loosened a bit so that we can try and get a settled enough squad as soon as possible rather than scrabbling around for cast-offs right into the season.
A good start and a bit more consistency so that we can realistically challenge for a play-off spot next season

Watched McTominay for Man U and he looked a shadow of the player he does for us. Even when he beats a man, he's always looking to play backwards.
For us he's dynamic, breaks the lines and always looks to play forward. It's like a different player altogether.

Tbf to Ange, if he finishes 5th in his first season that will be seen as improvement.
The end of season collapse must be a concern though and you'd imagine they will have to strengthen and come out firing next season

Stop engaging with that walloper

Crocker gets awful excited when Rangers have a shot, even when it's 30 yards out and straight at a defender.
Compare that to when other teams score and it's night and day

Hanley got the last 10 in their game as well

Far too premature to say Forrest's legs have gone
He's looked very sharp the last few weeks, particularly today.
He's only 31 and has been injured on and off for 2 years. Needs an extended run of games before he can be judged

Seems precautionary according to Russ

Been some game this
Bellingham was anonymous mind you

Christie plays the big games. He's a nailed on starter for the Germany game and most likely the others.

Christie is already in the team

Turns out it wasn't him being missing that was responsible for Brighton's terrible form.
They've been brutal recently

In fairness to Dykes - sometimes the manager in charge makes all the difference. I watched them under Gareth Ainsworth and it was the worst football I've ever seen in my life.
Amazing what confidence can do when backed by some half decent approach play

Could Gavin Rushford sneak his way in to a 26 man squad?

If you're rejecting players on the basis of a poor performance v Czechs in the euros you can discount half the current squad tbh

Is Danny Armstrong likely to get a big move? Be interested to see if he could cut it at a higher level.
We've shown a lack of options out wide when we've moved to a midfield 4, I wouldn't be too annoyed to see Armstrong in the next squad

Don't really see the issue, it's just quicker typing 6 than typing holding midfielder or sitting midfielder or trequartista or whatever

Confirmed - needs an operation on his cruciate ligament.
Absolutely devastated for him - probably puts his big move on hold too.
Yeh that's the worst thing about it, probably wouldn't have started many games this euros but he was potentially looking at a life-changing move in the summer. Worst possible timing

I think you have more than a slice of recency bias. The idea that the standard is higher now just isn't true. Andy Robertson's basic level of technique isn't great, that's why he wasn't spotted as a top class player at Queens Park, Dundee Utd or Hull. He was always known for quality crosses but that's about it and Liverpool signed him as cover for Moreno. He more than makes up for his limitations through boundless energy and excellent decision making.
Absolute shite

McGinn was brilliant there as a 6 for Aston Villa, maybe we should push him back as well.

So happy for Josh Sims. He’s achieved a hell of a lot in his limited playing time, and is such a good bloke .
Listened to his interview there, came across a right likeable chap

Bologna clinched Champions League football next season at the weekend.
It's a real shame we won't see Ferguson play until after Christmas, can't see Bologna going far enough in the competition for him to make an impact.
Some achievement though and hopefully Bologna are allowed to strengthen so that we might see him challenging for trophies, playing in big games down the line etc.
Bologna are at home to Juventus this weekend where a win will see them finish 3rd in the league which would be a fairly incredible result for them
