All this talk of an SPL 2 being created if Newco are not admitted into Div 1 is a load of meaningless hot air. What clubs will be able to enter SPL 2? Not current members of the SFL , who require to give 2 years notice before quitting the leagues. What a bonanza any attempt to short-cut that would be for the legal fraternity.

Listening to David Longmuir aka Quisling , it would appear that he is pressuring SFL clubs into a yes for Newco in Div 1 by offering the carrot of league re-construction. Maybe I've missed something but The SFL can still demand re-construction for admitting Newco to Div 3 if enough clubs have the balls to do it.

Allegedly didn't promote enough youth players quickly enough. -

If the Board are actually in favour of trying for promotion next season McPherson will be out. If he's retained I'll take that as an indication they are quite happy with a few seasons in Div 2. With him in charge I wouldn't rule out a visit to Div 3. -

Why do you assume that Simmons etc will depart ? McPherson obviously rates them highly. That is why McPherson has to go - end of. -

Oops , sorry. I meant to say 'cl*wn'. On second thoughts 'clown' is probably praising him too highly. -

Hardly possible to look forward to next season with McPherson in charge. The clown has to carry the lions share of the blame for where we are with his dreadful signings, bizarre tactics and clearly a de-motivated dressing room stemming no doubt from his poor man-management. If he stays at Palmerston we'll stay in Div 2 - it's that simple. -
How the SPL/SFA treat Rangers really doesn't matter too much. How HMRC treat Rangers is a totally different matter. My understanding has been for over a year now that HMRC want a court judgement in their favour because they have much bigger targets in mind. They are not interested in any out of court settlement and if that course of action loses them money and puts Rangers out of business so be it. I think Craig Whyte knows this and his pre-emptive bid to control the administration process is a last desperate clutch for a straw.

I sincerely hope McCusker has not signed any extension. With his injury history I don't know why we signed him. -

Pretty sure on the McCusker one. No surprise there - his injury record with Clyde makes you wonder why we signed him. The deafening silence on Smith suggests he's not coming back anytime soon. Parkin appears not to have a great fitness record either. -

No-one doubts that we have a reduced squad and one which in some cases a bit limited in ability. That makes it all the more surprising that Gus has constantly chopped and changed his formations and asked players to fit in to roles they are not capable of playing. He's like some kind of alchemist looking for a magic elixir which just doesn't exist. We would have been in a much better position to date if he had stuck to a settled formation which suited the limited abilities of the players he has rather than one which suits players he would like to have. -

Depends on what you mean by what we had last season. If you mean Holmes then that's a no brainer. However a strike partnership of McMenamin and Weatherston I would argue could have as good as any in the division. -

Lazy player with attitude. On his day can be brilliant but unfortunately has too few good days. -

I , like many others I suspect , assumed that the Board had already decided months ago that Brannigan was out at the end of the season and had no great problem with that. I had also assumed that the Board also were actively planning for a successor and a skeleton squad with the likes of Burns,McMenamin,McKenna etc to be retained on realistic wages. Sadly , and worryingly , this would appear to be wildly optimistic on my part. We now appear increasingly like a latter day version of the Titanic , with a board comforting themselves by rearranging the deck chairs with the new season only 8 weeks away. Grim times ahead I'm afraid - a new Harkness era beckons. -

I don't think there's any doubt that Brannigan did not have a lot of time for Weatherston. Despite moaning interminably about how small his squad was he managed to marginalise his contribution for most of the season. This for a player whose pace terrifies most defenders and in a team where pace is more evident by its absence than its presence. -

I would assume that it seems apparent that as the Board have decided not to renew Brannigans contract some considerable time ago thay have been actively looking for a replacement. If not then they are guilty of very poor management. Starting to look for a replacement at the end of May would be totally insane. Why they did not send Brannigan on gardening leave months ago , I just don't know. -

I think that should be 'when Brannigan leaves at the end of the season'.
