  1. Against a team of relative giants as well. You have to wonder what Hopkin is thinking. Hopefully what the protocol for signing on during lockdown is
  2. 5-4 fucking one in a must win game, launching high balls to Moffat.
  3. Our best opportunity in 5 games has been a sliced clearance from an Inverness payer f**k this team
  4. Yes, he’s looked fearless since he started and put in some good performances in Europe proving he’s not just good domestically. think a big team will take a punt on him as a development opportunity
  5. The whole unsavoury undercurrent of football "banter" is the issue, I think he is talking about on-field abuse rather than social media etc. Players trying to get in to other players heads is commonplace. Racism is taboo now, With no openly gay footballers in the UK it is hard to say if homophobia is taboo in the mens game, there are few footballers with disabilities (Ayr fans sang a song about Dean Shiels having one eye) Using someone's known mental health issues as a way of insulting them is pretty low and while it is different to racism, there are a number of footballers who have taken their own life. Being open about issues around mental health in football should be encouraged in both players and fans. There is a chance that that wee rat may have even played with Chris Mitchell at Ayr.
  6. It gives plenty of options, car parking obviously but it can also be used as a fan zone on match day, more stuff could be built on it like a new gym or facilities for players. If Newton yard was to go up for sale it could have the potential for an Astro training park. All potentially good projects. Maybe overly cynical, but it could be a take the heat off the chairman if we go down announcement. I wouldn’t blame the chairman personally if we went down, we would have the potential to come back stronger again, as horrific as the prospect of at least a season in league one seems. That recovery would be what makes the chairman in my opinion. Cameron was a rookie when we went down initially and he made mistakes so hopefully Smith will learn his trade in the Championship. Deciding if he has seen enough from Hopkin to allow him to rebuild or change in the summer, deciding on how much the club stretches to repair the damage of the last 18 months, these are things he will have to get right on the playing side. Off the park, he seems to be putting things quickly in to action to get them right.
  7. I think Dick Campbell will have the beating of Gus McPherson. I think he is a more streetwise manager and will have the Arbroath team fired up for the game and they will know what their job is. However, if Morton were down and out, I think they would have shat it against Alloa. I don't think Ayr will win in Inverness. Both games a draw, The Morton v. Arbroath game a score draw, The Inverness v. Ayr game a goalless draw.
  8. Imagine a nervy game next Friday and the stream follows a linesman’s baldy head for the majority of the game
  9. Not convinced it was a better performance, more players looked up for it than normal but we still never looked like threatening to score and Queens were the same. when I saw the results I thought, the last thing I want to see is the mentality that we only need a draw, then I saw Hopkins after match quote. we need to win, that’s it. We need to win.
  10. Different players, same formation. Not one of the forwards is over 6 feet, Todd and Chalmers playing suggests we are planning on playing football. if we spend the game punting balls over the midfield to the short, mobile front line then there needs to be questions asked of Hopkin tonight.
  11. Happy 1910 pages day......Here's to a miserable performance and the hope that Morton get scudded
  12. We had a blue away top I really liked a few years ago, the sponsor logo maybe made it more interesting than it was but it was different from any previous kits
  13. The Czech national team have released possibly the blandest away top they could. It’s smart enough and basic for the players but if this was Scotland’s effort and they were charging £65 for it, I could see there being an uproar.
  14. I'm not overly keen on any of them. A mixture of the Grey from one and the maroon trim of the pink one would have been nice....like The Humell training gear has been a bit bland. it would be more appealing being sold with the sponsor on it to make it more interesting. Having a training kit that is a bit off the wall could be a decent seller as well as kits.
  15. Hopkins pre-match interview with the Ayrshire Post. ”the players must stand up and be counted” we all know what happened the last time he said that. At least he didn’t add “and this time I really mean it!”
  16. If we stay up it is because we escaped and were lucky. We deserve to go down. The form in the first part of the season has kept up out the bottom 2 so far but the form of the final 2 thirds has been stinking. I’ll feel sorry for Arbroath or Morton if they finish 9th because we deserve to, had this been a full 36 game season we could well be going straight down, fortunately we ran out of games for that to happen. whoever finished in 9th has done so on merit and I will have no problems accepting it because we can’t say we have been unlucky. We were rotten with Smith and Sinisalo in the team, we were rotten with Moffat in the team.....we have been rotten. hopefully the team got a boot up the arse from the chairman and any Magaluf trip has been cancelled for this group of chancing b*****ds.
  17. It is back in our hands and as long as we outgun Morton in the last two games we will avoid the play-offs.
  18. There have never been any scandals involving Morten and end of seasons so we can rule them out.
  19. By my reckoning, we haven’t reached double figures in terms on shots on goal in the last 5 games so regardless who is up front, we are not creating enough, we are not retaining possession enough and we are not applying enough pressure.
  20. Todd has looked lively in possession and has fought to win the ball back once he has lost it. When he doesn’t have the ball he isn’t involved at all. when McCall took over he questioned the fitness and said to many players were hiding during games and not looking for a pass. We have the same problem now but I don’t think the players are hiding, they just don’t look interested. A boot up the park to a player under 6 foot. If they win the ball, there is no support because we are playing 2 defenders in midfield, or they don’t win the ball and it is returned straight at us and putting the back line immediately under pressure. We have done this in the last 5-6 games. Hopkin looks like he has thrown his hands up and blamed the players, accepted we won’t win another game until he changes the players. the players look like they are just turning up and going through the motions it has been the most frustrating season as an Ayr fan. Had we sacked Kerr 6 weeks earlier we could have ended up with John Hughes or Tommy Wright as manager. We didn’t and have ended up with a manager that looks like he has conceded our league place and is blaming his tools.
  21. So am I, here with Cock Piss Hopkin written on a bedsheet at The west of Scotland rugby club waiting on the b*****ds
  22. I don’t see any other way for fans to make their feelings known currently other than either venting on social media or turning up to training. I don’t have any illusions that the players are fans of the club. Even Moffat has a “big team” but you assume that players have professional pride in what they are doing. The concern with under 21 leagues is that players develop without playing in front of a crowd and then can’t handle the pressure when they do. This team feels like they are playing with no consequence. They get paid regardless of the result and if they don’t get signed up next season will find another club. They aren’t going out and getting abuse for being lazy or lacking heart or feeling praise for doing something well. every one of the players has experience but are playing like 18 year olds without a care in the world and need 2000 people booing them off the park when they perform the way they have been
  23. The Champions league is more to do with TV audience than anything else, the biggest TV audiences in England, Spain and Germany are always going to get 3-4-5 places in the Champions league. They should rebrand it the European elite league or something. No one outside these countries has won the Champions league since 2010. Have a Champions league of only champions, no qualification rounds, an Elite league of coefficient qualifying teams and a Europa league. Sky and the Champions league format has ruined domestic football in several countries. Great names of the past like Benfica, Ajax, Anderlecht, Sporting Lisbon, Red Star, will never get to a final again under the current format. If you went in to a sports shop in Prague or Brussels or Warsaw or Vienna you would be more likely to find a Barcelona or Chelsea shirt than that of a local team. It is impossible to compete due to the gulf in finance. Much like Scottish clubs and the old firm.
  24. I'm hoping that Smith does go tomorrow and tells them all that thanks to the useless b*****ds, his weekend was ruined.
