  1. They could use the car park but I’m not sure the neighbours would like it too much. The council will be spending too much on making up for the neglect over the last 15 years on the roads around Troon. Can’t have American tourists seeing the scabby roads.
  2. We would love to sign him and should be in pole position, he was with us before, gambled and went to Tranmere where he sat on the bench. He had multiple cracks at Dundee United and never got a run. Being offered more money and location may hurt us though, unless he plans to move to Glasgow. Unless he signs for Dundee or St Johnstone, which I would doubt. Raith and Dunfermline would save him a few hours a day travelling. McGeady hasn’t been fit since he signed, he’s not played more than an hour and has barely featured in two games in a row. He has been ok at times and other times, just dreadful. I don’t care if he stays on as a player next year if he plays as much as he did last year. I’m not sure we are paying him that much anyway.
  3. Doesn’t mention the consumption of Tom Horn in the job description
  4. Brown has already hunted Albinson and looks like the club captain is next on the list. While Browns approach may (early days) be to the benefit of the club, it might not be going down well with the current team who look like they have been mollycoddled for the last 3 years.
  5. To be fair, they said that last year as well. But - players on holiday, English release dates being later & other excuses showed that we were either lowballing or had done next to nothing to try and get players in other than waiting on players agents knocking on the front door of Somerset.
  6. It’s a familiar feeling, our best players leaving and all the other clubs doing their business early. Suppose we have to get the unwanted players out the door first before we announce any new players.
  7. If Chalmers stays in Dundee, more money and less travel makes sense. Might not be a good fit for him though, Ayr seems to be the only club he’s managed to stick. We will miss him if he goes massively. Murphy can’t play 90 minutes, of just doesn’t and McGeady is, well…you know. Amartey is direct but unlikely to create things out of nothing. He’s worth extra money.
  8. The guy who stands to the right of me at Somerset will be pleased. It’ll save him shouting “get Chalmers aff” every time he touches the fucking ball
  9. Kind of a weird update. Surely McGinley will be off, I’m assuming Smith and Albinson have both refused to talk about a new deal and that’s why they are announced, the rest have to have “the talk”
  10. Maybe we can sell out the home and away ends to Celtic fans, we can make some cash and not bother about the game at all. To be fair, it makes sense. the potential champions playing a game to open the main stand, Brown as manager will no doubt mean we'll sell 3000 extra tickets. Most players for English clubs will be at the euro's and the rest wont be back for pre-season for the bulk of July.
  11. Martindale was on Sportsound last week, he said that if they don’t go straight back up, they will need to cut their cloth accordingly which would lead to Livingston reaching a natural level of top of league one/bottom of the Championship.
  12. I didn’t realise there were so many McCall flatearthers. A lucky manager who’s assistants/coaches were the real brains etc etc
  13. Managers have levels, McCall is a top 4 championship manager. He'd have Clyde in the Championship in 4 seasons with the right backing. It's getting beyond that he seems to have a problem.
  14. Having listened to Dowds interview, I’m not sure it’s a goodbye. He says he’s enjoyed his time at Ayr and has told Brown that. So it sounds like we need to make him a better offer.
  15. He was a free for months in the summer and there was never a move, he’s been in the North east for the last 10 years. He’s more likely to go to someone like Arbroath if he’s freed.
  16. We should be in a good position to sign Dowds, Raith & Thistle are probably the only teams that could likely tempt him and I doubt Thistle will be making him an offer
  17. Watching the goals back, First was Musonda, not sure if he was caught in two minds, back to the keeper or McGinty and did both. The second, Sanders man scores but I'm not sure there was much he could do about it, the two wide right didn't do enough to stop the cross. The third, a corner gets cleared and the whole teams stops, no one moves out to the player chasing the ball and he has loads of time to lash a shot in. McKenzies goal was well taken from the angle he was at, there was no one in the middle so he had to shoot.
  18. No, stayed 4 at the back, they kept being done by Dunfermline putting quick balls over the top or out wide behind the full backs. Dempsey was the only one following runners.
  19. Tonight summed up the season, stupid mistakes and pissing about cost us. We were flying and looked like we could win 2-3 nil and we conceded a soft goal, then immediately conceded another, which has been a problem for a while, we concede a goal and fall apart. Brown got Tomlinson ready as soon as the first goal went in, he stood in the dugout for the last 10-15 minutes. He can have a go at McGinty all he likes, but the majority of the second half was Clark to Sanders, to Clark, to Sanders, to Clark, to Stanger, boot up the park, lose the ball. Persevering with playing out from the back with players not capable isn’t Sean McGintys fault. He’s first and foremost a very good defender and we will need that going forward. Ben Dempsey did most of the defending in the second half and made 4-5 goal saving challenges. We were best when we were running at Dunfermline but as soon as they scored, we couldn’t find two passes. Tomlinson got at them down the right when he came on, McRoberts was very good, certainly compared to Willoughby, who returns down south with my best wishes. Chalmers was lively and maybe could have got 1-2. Pleasing to come back in to the game and a few players got stuck in. This season should be taken round the back of the railway end and get 2 in the back of the head.
  20. He sat down at a goal kick, from an effort he wasn’t involved in, I think most folk thought he was at it and trying to waste time. After treatment he got up and took the goal kick, which made it look like he was at it. As soon as he took the kick, he went to one knee and hand, he then lay on his back and didn’t move for a while. It became one of those moments where you just hope he was ok. A player going down for no obvious reason like that is always worrying. It didn’t look like a knock. The physio treated him about a minute before so if there was any concern of a head knock he would have been off.
  21. We need to sign guys that are good Championship players, that won’t really develop but will keep us in the fight, the thing that takes us to the next level is the players we bring in that will develop and we end up selling on. We could give half of this shite away and the majority certainly wouldn’t move up a level. We just don’t sign enough good Championship players.
