See also Las Vegas Raiders NFL T Shirts. I suppose the ‘ultimate’ example of this are NY Yankees baseball caps. Everywhere… clearly no-one (or 99% of them anyway) wearing one is actually a baseball fan, it’s just about the logo. As an NFL fan myself, if I see someone wearing a Raiders item, I generally don’t reckon they’ll be into the sport. I saw a guy in my local Tesco recently wearing an old Reebok era Cincinatti Bengals jersey, said ‘Go Bengals’ to him in passing, and he was a fan. Was too niche a jersey to be a ‘fashion choice’ item.
Doesn’t always work out, but you can usually differentiate between a fan, or someone who went to Lids and came out with a Raiders cap.

Your post got me thinking of an interesting interaction me and my old man had many moons ago with someone. Back when I was 15 me and my parents were on holiday in Florida. We were on a bus and spied someone wearing a Raith Rovers cap which we thought was quite bizarre as the rest of his attire had a very 'American on holiday' vibe (polo shirt tucked into chino breeks with mobile phone holder on his belt and cotton socks up to his knees with open toed sandals. All that was missing was a bum bag and an American flag somewhere on his person). When we got off the bus me and my old man went to speak to him however it became obvious very quickly he had no clue what we were talking about or who Raith Rovers were. Always got me thinking how and why he had a RRFC cap. Maybe it was @TxRover 😜

    Easton away most likely.

He seems keen to stay going by what he's said lately to supporters however could just be paying folk lip service. There was a rumour of Motherwell being after him but appeared to come from a Mothewell fan notorious for chatting shite. As for Chalmers, a Rovers fan/group mentioned it on Twitter a day or two ago but I assumed they lifted it from here. The post and the account has since vanished. You boys will know better seeing your team week in week out but everytime I've seen Chalmers he's looked arguably Ayr's best player.

Better still just cut out the middle man. Either wait until we're knocked out to moan, or when we get promoted moan about any number of issues that brings you.

One player that really caught my eye on Saturday was the boy Alex Samuel. A complete nuisance of a striker, built like a tank. Maybe not overly prolific in front of goal but I thought he was good, and has been good any time I seen him this season. Sure he scored two at Starks against Raith.

He scored a hattrick in 1st half against us way back at the end of January. He was indeed a complete nuisance.

I just hope we can keep the feel good factor going into next season!

Absolutely. In the past couple of seasons there's been Arbroath and QP going for the league and they've quickly tumbled down the table thereafter. Notable mentions to Ayr and ICT as well who have found themselves down the lower part of the league having spent time challenging for the playoffs in seasons gone by. Only Partick seem to be a team consistently up there in the top 4. Hopefully the additional revenue from finishing 2nd and the experience of being in a title fight can give the club a boost to crack on and see what we can do. Obviously nothing is decided yet on what league we'll be in but should we end up playing Championship football next season it's going to be another b*****d of a league to get out of - Dunfermline, Falkirk, potentially Partick, Airdrie and who knows maybe a surprise package from another team could make for yet another hugely competitive campaign.

Retro hats? Wonder if they will be like the retro strips that I paid money for two of them weeks ago and not a peep since.

They have both tops on display in the club shop, they look really nice albeit they are only display options. Doesn't look like the stock has arrived yet. I've held off pre-ordering until they come into the shop as I've no idea what size to plump for so would rather see them in person.

  8. It would give me the upmost pleasure if we met Airdrie in the playoffs and got our act together and papped them out. We got the ICT and Dunfermline at East End hoodoo off our backs this season and instead inherited Airdrie-fooking-onians as our new bogey team. They've been a monumental pain in the arse in our games and have been absolutely the best footballing team I've seen us play this season. Tactically McCabe has schooled Murray time and time again so if they get past Partick, which is totally doable, they'll fancy themselves against us. The final might be a step too far but you just never know.

There should be zero surprise at opposition fans reaction to Rovers misfortune given the shite sprayed about by your club. A wee bit more emotional intelligence in relation to self awareness and social awareness would have been advantageous.

To those Rovers fans laying the boot into Murray, give yourselves a hoover. Reality is within your grasp.

If you get upset by Twitter you need to give yourself a shake and go outside for a bit 😊

  10. Airdrie have been an annoying pain in the arse for us this season and kudos to them. They've bossed us in every game and McCabe certainly has his team well drilled and organised when they face us. I was in two minds last night about whether we were due a win against them but then I thought back to games against Dunfermline where people were saying the same and look how that panned out. Overall though last night was grim stuff.

No idea what to expect from us between now and the end of the season. We've never really faired well in the playoffs and mentally I just hope the team are up for it. I'm confident we won't throw away 2nd place so with that comes some element of financial bonuses which is a positive. If Airdrie somehow don't do a bottle job themselves they'll fancy themselves whoever they come up against. I don't exactly relish a home and away tie against them that's for sure (yes I get they'd have to get past Partick Thistle first).
