Quick question. Does anyone remember us playing Airdrie at broadwood in the 90s in the cup? I am sure Kirkwood scored a screamer? Can’t seem to find anything about it anywhere.

Was that the game Peter Hetherston scored for them who promptly started getting it right up the Rovers fans? That's only game I mind against Airdrie at Broadwood, sure we were behind the goals as well for a change and Hetherston's goal was down our end.

  2. Do Livi not train on their pitch like we do with ours? has there been a massive difference in temp/conditions from Livi to Kirkcaldy as our pitchs appears to be fine, pics on Twitter of players training on it yesterday.

Nah, I follow home and away irrespective of what league we’re playing in or how current form is.

I feel sorry to those who’ve not went to away games this season..been tremendous. Atmosphere and results wise top notch - Tannadice, Hampden, Partick, Ayr, ICT, Pars x 3, Abroath. Lots of late winners, big away crowds and good atmosphere.

Rightly or wrongly I feel it gives me more right to have a wee moan more so than the armchair highlights experts.

That last home game must be the worst atmosphere I’ve experienced at Starks with 3500 home fans…young team should get incentivised to come for me as it makes a world of difference.

Whilst I'm not denying some away games this season have been superb not everyone can afford to go to the football every week. I'd never judge someone as any less of a supporter just because they maybe only go to home games or think they're opinion doesn't matter. Away games for me were few and far beween until my laddie showed an interest in the Rovers and if he had his way he'd be home and away every week but sadly that's just not affordable for us so it's a case of picking and choosing away games based on importance/distance/affordability. We've done Airdrie, Tannadice, Pars and Hampden which is a decent return for us and will be at Livi on Saturday. Your last point I agree with and said as much in the recent survey from the club. Singing section need some form of identity as right now they are just a random collection of youngsters. A group name, personalised flags, merch, tifo displays etc is what's needed. If the visual aspect of it (flares exclused) can be sorted you'll find kids wanting to be in amongst it.

  4. For all the plaudits Nouble was getting from Arbroath fans when he was there on loan he was largely kept quiet in games against them. No idea how this game will go, a free hit for us in all honesty. Hopefully have a couple of players back. Definitely a winnable game for us though.

  5. Completed. It's interesting the difference in our away crowd in comparison to when at home - that's been the case for donkeys seasons now mind you. The group at the back of the South Stand each week look about primary school age so haven't a clue where the older kids that frequent group singing areas in away grounds sit when we're at home. Hopefully the trial against Airdrie is a success.

There's no doubt the crowds have increased significantly, but it's worth remembering the free season tickets given to under 12s and the fact that we now give our attendances on "tickets sold" (whether season ticket holders are actually in the ground or not) rather than "clicks of the turnstile" which we did previously.

For the most part the South Stand looks significantly busier than in seasons gone by and there's folk I haven't seen in years coming back to games. I sat in the Main Stand for the Arbroath game and even that stand felt pretty busy. I do find some of the comments on Twitter/X quite interesting with folk saying the atmosphere at Starks lately has been 'toxic'. Clearly these folk haven't been going to the Rovers for long if they think it's a toxic atmosphere. I will agree that the atmosphere (in terms of singing) has been poor as of late for a team that were sitting top of the league. As for boos at full time, maybe it's just where I was sitting but I didn't hear much and there was a decent amount of folk applauding the team off the park which the players acknowledged, previous Rovers teams would have just sauntered off the pitch.

As for Saturday and looking ahead I'm not quite at panic stations yet. The board made it clear that the playoffs were the goal and that we're way ahead of where they thought we would be at this stage. Christ Dundee Utd aren't even well ahead of us at the moment and whilst folk bang on about them having a game in hand they still need to win it against a team who have beaten them already this season. On Saturday Hamilton should have been coming home with the match ball and on another day we win that comfortably. Our backline consisted of a teenager, a midfielder and a winger ffs. Yes results and performances lately haven't been great but we're level on points with Dundee Utd, a far bigger club than us. Writing the team off at the moment is silly.

I'd much rather we were in the position we're in at the moment than last season where we were mingling about midtable with heehaw to play for.

A blip was always on the horizon but folk need to calm their tits.

Read what I posted..... it's annoying to many Rovers supporters that yet again the arrival of a new player (Kyle Turner) was revealed on here by Raithie who just couldn't wait to show off how ITK they were rather than wait for the club to announce the news..... further compounded by the fact that they appear to have a source who updated them on another player (Ashcroft) we may or not be signing.

Let us know who it is @Raithie - there's pro journalists out there that would be keen to have that close a contact at any club...

    I'm actually Ian Murray.

rumours of Ashcroft heading to Patrick.

I've heard a few things about Ashcroft. One being it's a done deal to two the deals fallen through to three he's not leaving Dundee at all as Docherty wants to keep him as cover. Who knows. Sure we'll find out soon. Personally I think Watson will be back soon and with him, Murray, Corr, Masson and options of Brown or Dick maybe Murray is going with the 'if you score 2 we'll score 3' mindset. Apparently Watson has been training with the squad for the last two weeks so can't be that far away from returning.

Obviously it'll be a loan wherever he goes, from that list we would probably be the most attractive option. Who the f**k wants to travel to ICT every week or go to Dunfermline to get crocked.
