  1. In other news, Hearts fans may have heard that David Obua was in a horrific car crash over here last week, and his situation was described as 'serious.' Have just been told by someone in the pub that he is going to be fine. Not much Scottish-related football news over here, but it's good to hear that he's alright...he's an idol in Uganda to all the slum kids, and - yes - they are aware that he played for a team called Hearts in Scotland...sigh...

Get well soon Dave. Still pissed off about that penalty you missed against Airdrie United in theR2 shoot out though. Humph.

  2. Just under 6,000 season tickets sold in the first fortnight of sales. Hopefully we beat last season's total.

I had a peek at Ticketmaster and there are already about 800 new ST holders in H and J. Sold in the first 2 days.

Come the first game of the season I doubt if there will be that many match day tickets in clumps.

K will open against the smaller clubs, leaving L for segregation, but day tickets against Celtic, Aberdeen and maybe Rangers or Hibs with be hard to come by as I guess they will get L and M.

Ideally we would just give Celtic section M but I can't see that happening.

  3. Can see Neilson being hauled up in front of the bigwigs after the - 'we've been practicing 10v11 as it's at Ibrox and the atmosphere, the ref, we know what can happen' statement.

As we have had more players sent off than hot dinners at Ibrox it's a valid statement and sound preparation.

I know what you mean though. The SFA are very precious at times.

  4. That is a genuine problem as I would imagine a lot of our walk up fans will be couples, small groups, or parent(s) and child(ren), We must do everything that we can to accommodate all of our own supporters.

Basically all our Hibs/Rangers games will have a full home crowd. We know that. It seems sensible now to be cultivating Cat B season tickets in the home areas of the Roseburn.

The other clubs will only need one or two sections ie 500 to 1200 tops. Take away about 200 seats for segregation there are 1800 to 2500 left for the home support. Plus the 250 or so unsold in the other three stands.

Wouldn't do any harm to try and shift a few Cat B season tickets.

  5. Not necessarily more of a fan, but absolutely they should get priority when tickets are hard to come by. If I go to every away game I'd be fuming if I lost out on a ticket for a crucial match to someone who'd bought him and his family the new kit but hadn't gone to an away game in a long time.

Also, what if you have 3 kids and I have none? How does it make you a more loyal fan because you bought 3 kits and 3 sets of bedcovers when I'd have no reason whatsoever to do so?

If you went to every away game your loyalty points total would be way out of sight of someone who bought some kit in the shop.

I have 130 loyalty points but wouldn't grudge a small number points for showing loyalty in other ways.

  6. It depends on how you define loyalty. Because based on purely financial 'loyalty' we would all be best not going to away games and sticking our £20 back into the club. But then there would be no one there to 'support the team' on the day.

It's utterly justified that the loyalty points system for getting tickets to high profile matches is in favour of those who actually attend matches.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.
