  1. I like Nicky a lot. He's a solid enough player but don't know if he's ready for SPL just now. Thought we had him until the end of January but best of luck to him at Motherwell.
  2. It didn't really tell me anything we didn't already know. All talk about money though and the only thing mentioned about football was "more meaningful games will be created" which has absolutely no evidence to suggest that will be the case. Austria, Switzerland and Georgia have all tried this system and each time the number of fans showing up at games has decreased by around 30%. I appreciate the club having the meeting but I feel at this stage there is too many question marks over the whole thing. Gilbert suggested that it would be one club, one vote but Jardine seemed to think that it will be staggered votes (i.e. 3 votes SPL, 2 votes Championship etc.) which is the biggest issue for me. If we go for this but give them the staggered voting structure it'll be all over for me. As soon as this system goes tits up they will have the power to change it whatever way they like and it'll be away tae f**k with all the diddy teams. The nonsense about "changing the game for the greater good if we are united" is fucking cringeworthy as well.
  3. That Brian guy sounds like a complete zoomer. Altering accounts so people can't log on? Pathetic. Do you guys know who he is? I don't think I'd be able to stop myself pulling him up over shit like that face to face.
  4. Should be a solid player for Annan. Does it leave us light for centre half cover? I suppose Murray thinks he'll do the job in there if needed.
  5. John Kane back on the Board! Good to see him back.
  6. Meh. Hope he improves in the same way others have under Murray but can't say I'm over the moon with this.
  7. I would hope we've not seen the last of Nicoll. He's been solid for us and should we be relegated he'd be good to have in the 2nd Division. Lyden is still young as well, would hope he's given another chance as I think there's a good player in there with the right coaching. I'd like us to get right back sorted before January ends though. Yes, we can get Devlin back for 2 months but going to into the business end of the year I'd hate to see us having to juggle the rest of the defence around to cover that. I don't think there will be much (if anyone) available after January and will it not only be emergency loans of 35 days or something we can get in after that?
  8. Right back being the main one for me. When Devlin goes at the end of this month our only natural right back will be Jamie Lyden (I know he's on loan but maybe we can recall him at any time?). Unless Murray plans on getting himself fit, playing centre half and moving Graham to right back but even that still leaves us a bit light for cover at the back. If we can call Nicoll back in the event of an emergency then we're pretty well covered in midfield. Up front we've got Lister, Prunty, McCusker & Fleming who can all play there, which makes me wonder why Buchanan was playing last night - maybe just to give him game time as a favour similar to Tam McManus earlier this month.
  9. Think it was 12:15. Maybe he's using the supporters lounge for the players pre-match meal, leaving the Chivas suite free for hospitality?
  10. Surprised no one has had anything to say about Murray's meet the manager session. I like him. He's a very calm individual and seems to look at things rationally. I found it interesting that he felt our pitch was too big for us in this league as it allows the full time teams to come and play the way they want and he would've made it smaller if he had the chance. It would appear under Adamson that things weren't exactly organised, as most of us feared, but it's having an effect on what Murray can do with the players at training now. We have half a pitch to train on one day and a quarter of a pitch for the other which is pretty shocking if you ask me. Murray stated that all he has tried to do so far is make us a bit more professional, such as bringing in the sports scientist to assess everyone's fitness and advise them on what they should/shouldn't be eating etc. but also in the way we conduct ourselves on the park. Even at this early stage you can see it has made a difference. I think a few fans may have been a bit taken a back when Murray said he's not really one for giving it the big one in front of the fans after a win. He was asked why he didn't wave to us at Falkirk (which had most in the room cringing) but Murray said he's not really one for doing that as it may be viewed as disrespectful to our opponents. Personally, I couldn't give two fucks if he waves to us or not, if we're leaving a ground with 3 points (like we did at Falkirk) then Murray can disappear up the tunnel as quickly as he likes. I know most managers are good at talking the talk in these things but I was very impressed with Murray and I think we've got the right guy to take us forward.
  11. Aye, there's definitely a good winger in there. He can beat a man and cross with both feet but is quite slight. 2nd Division would probably be his level for a couple of years to see how he gets on.
  12. Most 2nd Division fans told us Jim Lister was shite. I'll reserve judgement until I've seen him play.
  13. Like BBPF, whilst Nicky has maybe struggled to make the impact he did previously for us, he's a solid enough right back and we will definitely need a replacement if we are not getting him back (which looks to be the case going by his reaction at the end of the game). Thanks once again, Nicky - you'll always be welcome back.
  14. I see what you're saying and it was my first thought that other areas need addressed first. In saying that, Murray might know he's probably stuck with what he's got and needs them to be at their highest possible level to have any chance of keeping us up. I also doubt we're paying the guy all that much.
  15. If he could teach him how to beat a man again that would be better.
  16. I'd assume the reasoning for doing it now is much like the Scotrail strike. The players know it's an important time of the year for the club and if they feel the club are fucking them around then threatening to strike during this period should put the shitters up the Board and get things sorted. I don't think you can be raging with them and the title challenge being over should be the least of your worries at the moment.
  17. "Money should be paid now, then the problem addressed" Honestly can't believe some of the stuff in those minutes. Encouraging people to blindly fire money into something that any level headed person wouldn't touch with a barge pole and then worry about what they've done later. "DAFC feel they have been open with supporters". Fucking hell. Good luck guys, you're going to need it.
  18. That's what would annoy me the most if I was a Pars fan. I'd be hoping my club cut costs immediately rather than trying to service unsustainable wages/levels of debt by putting everything on promotion back to the SPL. Are the figures HibeeJibee posted above true? So the Pars have spunked £1,030,000 and have been struggling to pay their players for the last 2 months? Staggering.
  19. The point was made that you wouldn't be paying these players much as you got them from the 2nd division. The point I'm making is that most clubs in the 1st Division would've known these players and perhaps offered them something. Thus, Dunfermline wouldn't have been their only option and I doubt you got them as cheap as some are making out on here. Your point about no Scottish football fan knowing them is completely irrelevant.
  20. Nice logic here. So because none of numpties on the First Division forum on Pie & Bovril had heard of these players, no other Scottish club had heard of them either?
  21. That's a pile of shite. Both Wallace and Falkingham would've been chased by a number of clubs after the seasons they had in the 2nd. Just because you hadn't heard of them doesn't mean that no one else had.
  22. As Mozam has said, the official site seems to have confirmed that figure as true. Absolutely crazy stuff.
