  1. Creaney was okay in the 2nd Division (but still suspect at times in my opinion) but at this level he was well out of his depth. He was caught out many times last year and his inability to stop a cross coming in was staggering. He was also the creator of the "Creaney Lump", where he managed to continually lump the ball down the line to absolutely no one. Forsyth was a better option at left back but he didn't want to sit around not getting a game when Smith came in and left. Loyalty? He was offered a deal to play in the 1st Division (probably on improved wages), it's not loyalty, it's common sense. I'd be massively surprised if Morton were offering more than just training facilities for him.
  2. Time for the CSE to start pre-season early?
  3. Dowie would be a good signing. Whilst it would leave us incredibly slow at the back, both Dowie and Graham are capable of reading the game well enough that it could make up for it. Of course, they could just be training with us so we'll see what comes of it.
  4. Thought he looked okay when he played and scored against us when at Arbroath. maybe signing for a team permanently will let him settle down and if he's low on confidence I'm sure Murrinho will soon remedy that. Welcome to the club Eminem.
  5. Aye happy with that. Morton lined up for another thrashing at New Year as well. Not so happy with Dundee away on the last day though, hope to f**k we're safe by then.
  6. Perhaps we're playing Hibs early to give Muzz first dibs on any youngsters they're looking to loan out? I see we're playing the Bankies as well at their place. I hope we utterly ruin them.
  7. Obviously I've never seen him play but a record of 205 goals in 231 games is pretty good going. Paddy and Bomber in that picture too, what a front line!
  8. We could go for Busby, stays local and is still hard as f**k. His hate for the Sons might put a block on that deal though.
  9. Seems he was useless at Stenny last year. To be honest, I don't think we need another winger.
  10. I think he's suggesting that because you rate Grindlay higher than Ewings that shows that Ewings is underrated. He'd be wrong but I think that's what he's suggesting. Grindlay always has been and always will be a better keeper than Ewings.
  11. This quote from Murray - "It is early days yet and we have got be pleased that we retained the lads who were important last season" This would suggest Murray didn't see Alan as an important part of the squad. Anyway, he's gone and that's it. With Jazza signed up our goalkeeper quota is full and I imagine he'll be turning his attention to a new centre half and striker. I imagine some Hibees will be Rock bound to fill out the squad.
  12. I wouldn't worry, it's only a matter of time before Kevin Thomson, Garry O'Connor and wee Deek sign up.
  13. I'd agree with that. Linton being able to play a few positions certainly helps us for cover when injuries etc. kick in. Centre half and striker the priority. Also, wouldn't mind seeing a statement from the board with regards todays reconstruction.
  14. I've never thought he was good enough for full-time, I think Alan is the only one who does. He's a decent defender but definitely replaceable.
  15. Woefully out of his depth is maybe a bit strong, but I agree that he's not as big a loss as some would think. Andy Graham is a better centre half and to have McGinn and Smith signed up along with him is excellent. I hear that Lithgow was offered a very good deal with us, if he's getting more at Ayr then fair enough. Thinking on that though, do we know for sure it's for more money? As I said before, Murray would have set a deadline for players to sign - I'd say it's a possibility that he's missed that deadline and Murray's withdrew the offer. Anyway, with the wage we had allocated for Lithgow I'm more than confident that we'll be able to find a good replacement.
  16. Nah, much more effective on the wing. Didn't Linton say he was leaving Cowden cause he wanted full-time? Can we take that as code for "get me the f**k out of Cowdenbeath?
  17. Good signing. Also good to see the Cowden fans taking everything to heart yet again.
  18. It's always been the problem for Lithgow - his past. Some fans won't ever let it go and Alan honestly isn't the nasty pervert some would have you believe. He did a very stupid, disgusting thing and he's paid the price for it ever since. I know we've offered him a deal but I don't know how long that will be on the table. He's held out for as long as possible each year in the hope of a full-time offer but it could work against him this year as I don't see Murray waiting about too long for him to make up his mind.
  19. When Murray came in he improved (as did everyone) but Alan's been looking for full-time football since his Clyde days. He's a decent centre back but I think he gets caught out positionally some times. When he's on form though he's a good player at this level. If I'm honest, I think Andy Graham is a better centre half and I think Lithgow is replaceable should he leave.
