Bit of daft mentality especially as they're fine with the Chinese building their nuclear power stations. They don't expect to get to Manchester and Leeds before 2035. A Chinese firm have offered to do it in 5 years for less money, they've got all the plant and machinery ready to go. They'd speed it up by building in multiple stages simultaneously. It would be mad not to at least look at their competitive advantage instead of seeing it as damaging to National pride.0 -
Here was me thinking Glen Minter had forgot his password. Must be hard remembering them all.

Please explain how Holyrood could have moved to restrict liberties when Westminster didn't even have the power until 4 days after they voted it through ?Stop making excuses for an absolute failure at all levels of government. I’ve already posted the video in here where NS defends mass gatherings and schools that was three months ago. What the SNP has shown is that at their first major problem they’ve been caught out of their depth.
Italy was literally screaming down the tv at our scientific advisors to stop herd immunity yet the Scottish government never argued against it. Following scientific advice that a five year old could see was just driven by money and the economy. The scientists might as well not be there.
How can several other countries with little or no resources stop this so quickly? I get that we are in step with England but there’s so much more we could have done, if the tests are unreliable then test twice. Care homes were allowed to get decimated to keep the hospitals clear. Hospitals were built that never got used.
People have to answer as to why we got everything so badly wrong, the snp are accountable and cannot behind whatabootery and let’s see what happens at the end of it. We’ve just lost 10-0 and are watching the results come in saying well at least we aren’t losing 11-0.
I voted snp and I’m pro independence but this has cost the snp once questions get asked they have zero defence but will try hiding and scapegoating Boris.3 -
Still doesn't change the fact Scotland pays a population of share of bullshit that doesn't benefit them then pays a population share of the interest on the debt accrued on said bullshit. I await our cheque for 90% of the cost of the Forth bridge with baited breath.Think of HS2 as a means to get more people moved up and down the country rather than a train that can get 1 person to Manchester 40 minutes faster. Every day thousands of people will use it and if there's more capacity then there's more economic activity stimulated away from London. If more of that moves north there's a residual benefit to places that are not on the HS2 network but nonetheless connected to it. Economic modelling suggests that's a good thing for both England and Scotland. And the up-front cost of HS2 sounds eye watering but it's not a case of writing a cheque for however many tens of billions of quid it is now costing, this is costs spread over quite a few years. It's a few billion quid a year which compared to the 300 billion the UK government will have spent on Covid response this year, isn't really that much.0 -
Most of created their own currency after transition....ehm exactly what an independent Scotland would do.They created their own currency.
But aye we're not truly independent like countries such as France and Italy who have their own currency.0 -
You just know the UK government will play hard ball with asset negotiations which will leave Scotland walking away with zero debt or in the unlikely event that the UK government aren't a bunch of c***s, a share of BOE assets, foreign assets, mulitary assets. Plus if you think Scots are going to take a share of debt that was accumulated building Aircraft Carriers and high speed trains with nothing to show for it you're even more deluded than your previous account. If you accept a share of the UK national debt in GBP and then run up more GBP then we are in the same hole as the likes of Argentina with large debts in a foreign currency. You can't vote your way out of that.

And the longer the Tories show how useless central government in London is the more support for yes will increase. Something's got to give. Next Holyrood elections should be fun listening to every unionist constantly go on about independence whilst moaning that everyone goes on about independence. You could script it right now. One things for sure....Willy Rennie will still be rolling about ball pits and going down chutes and stuff .
As long as these polls keep showing Yes ahead, they’ll never grant a S30
Plan B for next year, please2 -

No need for sympathy. I'll just stop voting for them.Have some sympathy with folk who've watched Sturgeon's general cautious it over Covid and decided there's no chance of the SNP forcing a referendum in the next few year0 -
You've just summed up the entirety of FIFA 20 in one paragraph. The gameplay was particularly trying last night. The game seems to decide that its going to actively try and balance the gameplay out if you winning. Twice I was up 3-0 and didn't win. Amongst other things that happened to impede were, players taking 2 touches instead of one, skill moves stopped working and the positional sense of defenders was non existent.0 -
You're not allowed to fish top end of Martnaham as it's a bird reserve. Bottom end is fair gameThe last time I fished Fergus was after being hunted from Martnaham ( no fishing now apparently) the usual wee Jack's and some nice perch. The rivers are a bit low right now, so they're not really worth fishing right now but I've managed a few wee broons. Got some wrasse and some wee coalies/Pollack the other day on float fished mackerel strip at saltcoats (hole in the wall).
Some decent Rudd, roach, perch and a trench from a wee Pitt . Just waiting on some decent rain to get some runs up the rivers.

Haven't seen a fishing thread here and seeing as it is one of the pursuits you can easily do during lockdown I thought why not.
Been fishing up Broomhill in Ayrshire lately, lots of big resident rainbows, golds, blues, tigers and of course broonies taking buzzers and dry flies.
Also fished Fergus in Ayrshire for the first time in a few years, caught a couple of Jack pike. Biggest about 5lbs.

Was it no 12.6 ? Even the yes voters are telling people the dreaded hole is bigger than it is£13.4 billion?
On a more serious note. Anyone that thinks an Indy Scotland can't cover 10% of a furlough scheme that costs 17 billion is a moron.1 -

Brithday Di Maria is also electric with 5* WF.Di Maria is absolutely superb, until you use his right foot. My god, I really cannot use people with terrible weakfoot.
I swear to god, I only done Lucas out of boredom. He is out scoring Eusebio constantly.
He genuinely makes Fifa 20 more enjoyable. Ridiculous how good they’ve made him.0 -
Trump away a wee walk for some unknown reason. All those rioters and not a single good sniper. The Secret Service must love dealing with Trump.

I very rarely use them tbh even though they are hilariously easy to do. Prefer just to turn in with left stick like I've always done.Well, you'd have to score first to get anything from the rage quit. [emoji23] The usual suspects don't usually make it past the centre circle before player on the team has had a dragback and 13 ballrolls each.0
What is the point of Labour ?

Still don't understand the desperation of some yes voters to have some sort of left leaning Labour government in Westminster for maybe 5 years like they'll somehow change the direction of travel of the sinking ship. They're totally irrelevant up here as far as I'm concerned. Wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them and about 80% of the Scottish electorate agree with me.
Do people like Panda genuinely believe that the likes of Keir Starmer is going to radically change anything ? Westminster is fucked as far as I'm concerned and Scottish Independence IS the most important thing for the future of this country. Not what useless halfwit gets a shot at a job for a few years.
