It's funny, Dumbarton fans were saying "if he was 10% fitter he wouldn't be playing for Dumbarton" last season. He's just a lazy b*****d, he literally had every day free when he was with Dumbarton and still never bothered getting himself fit. Full time training doesn't appear to have changed him.
Totally agree. Not what we are needing at this time.0 -
Hartley couldn't be blamed because of the mess Houston had left the team in.
McKinnon can't be blamed because of the mess Hartley has left the team in.
Repeat ad nauseam.
We’re still not quite at Stephen Kenny proportions yet thankfully.0 -
It's been an absolute disaster of a 24 hours for all the rubber-neckers tbh. Just when they began to assume that McGhee or some other dinosaur was inevitably lumbering in the door, The Famous deliver a replacement who quite possibly be better at his job than King Snake ever was. What a terrible, wee shame that is for them.
Personally i hope JJ does a job for you guys. A new coach getting his break in the game.
I’ve said a few times that I’ve never had any issues with the Morton support or the club for that matter. I would guess many other supporters will be the same.

Well we have a manager now - welcome aboard. Glad it's not McGhee or Smith etc.
I doubt we will seriously go after Falkirk for compensation or anything. Crawford's statement has done the job of showing McKinnon to be an outright liar and made an already vile club somehow look even more despicable. Damage done IMO. Onwards and upwards.
An already vile club. Not being funny but what are you basing that on? Just out of interest.0 -
The same with Jefferies and Hearts. Jim built a brilliant team, nearly got us into Europe through the league, then he said he is staying with us, then he walks out. I was totally pi**ed off with Hearts then, couldn't really fault Jim though.
So we've been in the same boat a few times as Morton fans, I felt the same with Jefferies and McCall, so can see the 'ton supporters side of things. It's just that our managerial losses were on a bigger scale than losing a 3 month debutant.
Yep went through it with him too. However the lure of his boyhood team was too much. If the rumoured money that Fulston (b*****d) was offering JJ to stay had kept him, then we would have been in provisional liquidation a year earlier.0 -
Half of these fannies going on about employment law and rights of Morton or McKinnon for that matter will be the same ones that will shout “offside” at a throw in.

The Faux outrage is pathetic. He was only with you 3 months.
We lost McCall all those years ago. He had played for us, had us playing the best football we had since Jeffries and built a team to win the league at a canter.
He went to Utd and at the end of the season he removed a strike force that had scored 43 goals between them in Coyle and Samuel and one of our best youth products, Mark Kerr.
I remember we were rightly pissed off at the time and rightly so, but not to the proportions of you snowflake lot.6 -

Ray said, “Graeme Henderson is an excellent coach and it will be great to work with him again. We are just sorting out his release from Morton and he should complete our backroom team in time for the League game against Ayr United “.
Very pleased with this.0 -
I’d expect an improvement in play over the next week or so, based on the new manager bounce as well as the guys all being told the jobs they need to do.
I don’t think for minute that all of the players are as bad as they are being portrayed.
We’ve not had a settled team, settled formation or way of playing since the League Cup games.
Back to basics and I’m sure the majority of them will come good.2 -
Seems like Mackinnon doesn't think the squad is up to standard going by his press conference.
He was asked whether the squad was underperforming so far this season and replied "we are where we are for a reason".
f**k right off man.....
He was getting at the attitude of our previous manager.0 -
If he is fit we should have a look at Gordon Greer, IMO who is a free agent. Played at the highest level and would surely help the kids around him.
Totally agree with this.0 -
Ralston RB?

Given that McIntyre is on the dole and has refused a job opportunity that matches his skill set, will his brew money be stopped ??
He will still be getting paid by Ross County after being sacked. He will be on w good wedge too I’d suspect.

Can anyone provide examples of teams who started off utter dugshite then came good after the fabled 'gelling' phase? It's a concept I'm unfamiliar with. Thanks in advance.

What bad apples are you referring to? Don’t know of any current players who are going behind Hartleys back and going to the board about him.
Going by the snapchats that were being shared about on Saturday night, Lewis Kidd isn’t his biggest fan.0 -
A few folk saying Hartley didn't get who he wanted to sign. That maybe true but he didn't need to go and sign a useless dud from Livingston instead.
Anyway that said we're 2 games into the season and he should get a bit more time and hopefully things click eventually. A bit of confidence could kick our season into gear.
Fair enough Mackin wasn’t at his best on Saturday, however to call him a dud after 2 and a half games with us is fucking unreal.

For me Hartley has the Colts game and the next 2 league games to show improvement.
He took 9 games to get his game plan over the players last season and I’ll afford him the same this time. However he needs to start playing players where they should be playing.0 -
Won’t be seeing Brough anytime soon. He will hobbling about with a full leg bandage and boot on.
Good to see David Mitchell in his day off coming in and getting himself up to speed on the pitch.
Sooner he is back the better. Can’t seem to earn to Fasan.0
