Last I saw and can access by our search facility is this.

    https://www.clydefc.co.uk/news/2012/01/04/4030/#.WzJc_hbTWaN

    Lot less than then.

Look back at the Facebook group about a year ago and you'll see a screenshot of the clubs commercial catalogue advertising the same package for £75.

If you look at the numerous angry comments under that post you'll see a comment from the SLO saying the club were withdrawing the package due to the criticism of it. Mascots have always been free at Clyde.

**In fact, last year's catalogue is still on the website.

Quite agree. Should be absolutely free. No, really.

I mean two adult tickets, half time refreshments, a gift, a t shirt, a ball, a Stadium tour and padded exec seats. How much can that cost?

( Of course you will have carried out your research into the cost of being a mascot with other clubs before giving it the thumbs down, I presume)

I presume it costs the same as this time last year when the club announced the exact same package for £75 before backing down due to criticism from supporters and withdrawing it.

Yeah the issues must be putting third parties off... is that why we’ve been able to get a sports brand supplying our kits who have never done so for another professional Scottish club?

Additionally, not reading between the lines, plenty of directors/officials involved with the club have sponsored the club shirts in the past - IFIC Forensics and Heartfelt to name a couple. To sponsor a team for two years running shows commitment and clearly Innes is putting his money where his mouth is. His company are extremely active in regenerating communities which also fits in well with our current Clyde in the community focus.

What pays the players wages is season ticket/match day income, player sponsors, prize money from the previous season, fundraisers, company advertising in the programme/pitchside, merchandise sales etc. So it’s not as if we NEED these two companies investing in the football side of things to get by. I really don’t get your point at all and it seems like nitpicking for the sake of it.

If you think that the clubs stance on Goodwillie and Love doesn't put people off then you are deluded.

Sorry if it feels like nitpicking but I guess I'm just fed up with money going to the community instead of players. I know they do good work but at the end of the day I just want to see a winning team on the park and money makes that much more likely. I genuinely couldn't care less about Football Memories or mental health teams. Just get us out the league.

Perhaps our chairman is simply putting his money where his mouth is.

    He deserves credit.

f**k me. How are people taking my post as a dig at the chairman? Obviously anyone putting money in deserves credit.

I'd like to think that Innes would have been happy enough with one shirt with his logo on it since if he is investing then he's clearly not doing it for the advertising. Therefore reading between the lines it appears that no-one else has offered anything for the Second or Third strip otherwise why wouldn't we take the money?

It's not a criticism, just an observation that our stance with Goodwillie and Love probably makes us unattractive to sponsors. I'm surprised anyone would disagree with that.

Would be good to know the financial details of the shirt sponsors being renewed and how much actual physical cash is available for the player budget and not getting spent on community projects or payment in kind etc.
Reading between the lines; it's a bit disappointing that the second and third strips are sponsored by the chairman's company for the second year running.
Does the lack of someone giving even £5k-£10k for second or third strips sponsorship mean that the Goodwillie and Love issues are actually putting off potential sponsors?

How do you know hes not paying anything ?????

I'm not saying that he's not paying anything and not sure how you have managed to take that from my post. Im saying that the lack of another sponsor from outwith the club looks like we are having difficulty attracting interest which must be put down to the two highly publicised issues with Goodwillie and Love.

The details of just how much both Advance and Rock Regen CIC are investing in the football side of the club is what I would like to know. Investment in the community projects, whilst welcome, doesn't pay the players wages.

  7. In among Colin's ramblings and Stewart Mackenzie's outburst there is a warning to Clyde in there.

Five years ago the Colts were top dogs as far as NLL were concerned. Why? Because they brought investment in the form of the pitch, refurbishment of the dressing rooms and regular lets.

The Colts thought that would last forever but now Clyde are bringing the investment in the form of Innes refurbishing the Arria Lounge, facilitating a music festival, general stadium improvement works etc. Clyde are now the top dogs in eyes of North Lanarkshire Leisure because they are useful to them.

What happens if the SRU turn up with cash wanting to develop the away stand into something else or NLL appoint a CEO or stadium manager who loves their rugby? The SRU will then become the main partner leaving Clyde and Cumbernauld Colts (if they are still here!) down the pecking order again.

North Lanarkshire Leisure will rightly always place their own interests above anyone elses and I think that the Cumbernauld Colts are now realising that.

The Colts got complacent and thought they owned Broadwood and now they are suffering. Clyde need to learn from their experience and work to continually assert their usefulness to NLL to ensure they always remain the main partner.

You are right about us not advertising our activities enough but we don't want to be seen as bragging about things we do in the community. For your information though, we do run a disability section and were, I believe, the first in the area to do so but because of the nature of it we don't feel that it is appropriate to promote it other than to those who it is aimed at.  See the OfficialCcolts twitter feeds for details of all our activities such as the Lunch Club and after school club in Eastfield Primary today.

Broadwood is our home although just as Clyde have stated in the past in relation to moving south of the Clyde we are exploring other options.

As for other community work you are corrrect in what you say and in this respect I give you the Colts sleepout in support of Glasgow City Mission and the Simon Community not forgetting our annual foodbank collection in aid of The House of Bread in  Cumbernauld Town Centre. Oh, and the various outreach programmes we are involved in. Oh, and the GoFitba programme which is currently ongoing at Broadwood at the moment.

I suspect that the comments made in the previous tweet are bourne from the feeling that we have served our purpose as far as NLL are concerned and that despite constantly being referred to as stadium partners the reality is that we are just tenants and third in line to the the Clydes and SRUs of this world. A shame really.

This meltdown can only lead me to believe that tweet was yours and you are absolutely raging that someone screenshotted it before you deleted it.

Diddy club with a diddy chairman.

Stay off the internet when you've had a beer.

Just read the extended details on the specific section on our website. Sounds a fantastic idea and the club should rightly be shouting about this from the rooftops.

It's an excellent scheme building on the scheme launched previously with North Lanarkshire College. It seems to be better marketed this time and hopefully the club do promote it better and attract some better players.

Having said that, the logo on the website is fucking awful.

Easy to say that, but wasn't there a bigger lump sum paid by only sport to have the rights to sell the Clyde stuff?

Sure as part of the deal, Only Sport provided all First Team and U20 kit free of charge. That's a lot of kit.

Regardless, £1-£2 a shirt is more than we have had for 6 months. Why not keep Only Sport until there was an alternative? Sorting the club shop out has to be a priority before I need to tell my nephew that the Clyde shirt I promised at Christmas time won't be coming for his birthday either.

Stephen McGowan from the daily mail.

    Explains a lot.

Derek Ferguson from Show Racism The Red Card was the only one saying that Love didn't necessarily need to be sacked but they didn't really give him much chance to speak. Arguably the most qualified man in the studio to comment.

  13. Innes requesting a meeting with 3 Labour MSPs to discuss Ally Love was a strange use of time and not something Owners were made aware of.

Have to assume that was more to do with Innes's own reputation and his day job rather than Clyde FC. The MSPs named couldn't find Broadwood on a map and their opinions on Clyde, like most things are totally irrelevant to anything.
