We have a good first 11, although they’ve had no time to gel really, but absolutely no depth in quite a few positions. Our signings so far have been pretty good on the face of them. We’ll probably start a bit shite then come good and be safely mid table/challenging for a playoff place. If we sign an actual striker, and get some cover in defence I’ll be a lot happier. Agreed that last season, the summer window was an absolute disgrace. Hopefully that can be put down to complacency of thinking the squad was already good enough and the injured players would come back at the same level as previously. Given we’ve got about 9 players, they can’t possibly think that again.

To be fair, United have known what league they’ll be in for longer than we have, so could start recruiting earlier as I’m sure our targets will have changed now we’ve gone down. That said, I’m sure the management will have players in mind and will be working towards bringing them in. If you want a spurious rumour with no substance whatsoever, we’re in for Fouad Bachirou on loan from Malmo.

Please note that Thistle4eva is about the only Thistle fan who was even remotely disappointed Booth left. He loves giving away penalties, and a ball in behind him takes him out the game every time. He’s good at getting up and down the pitch, but not so good at either end of it.
