  1. I’d imagine a lot of clubs will be doing the same thing or have already done the same thing in the current climate. lough has hardly played from what I’ve seen, injured more times than he was fit
  2. I don’t know magoo, they might have fresh eyes, different contacts within the game, know of players who could improve the team, I haven’t a clue. Chuck your name in the hat and find out
  3. I agree last season was poor, being honest, since hislop and Bingham left in my opinion the manager choices have been poor. the likes of strollers, gala, vale, they will all be relegated in the next few seasons that’s a cert, they don’t have the resources to stay in the LL, and neither do WW. You could also argue that all those teams don’t have the resources to compete with the likes of Tranent, hill o beath, etc, all good clubs with big support, unlike WW, vale etc im not getting at anything with committees, the guy said the club was a shambles, that falls to the manager and committee, I’m simply offering a little support to the small committee that are in place at the moment. I agree previous committees have done well that’s shown with the trophies, the club, the changing rooms etc, but I felt they were left a wee bit behind in recent years with the introduction of social media etc i also WW should not have been relegated from LL after the Selkirk debacle. I don’t live local so I don’t know much about the social club opening hours or previous committee members you are referring to so I can’t comment on that I agree clubs followers and supporters should be rallying round especially in the current circumstances even though it’s difficult when we can’t get to games
  4. Do you know what is a shambles? You’re comment. From the outside looking in the guys on the committee have done a cracking job the past season or two, granted results haven’t been great, this season they’re only 4-5 games in, still early. off the park the club, like many others are working in difficult situations with no fans through the gates, I assume the social club will also be closed which would be additional revenue. the current committee have also done what previous committees haven’t done, and in my opinion should have been done years ago and actually fitted floodlights at Ferguson park. I seen the effort that was put into the fundraising for that. There are some on this forum that said give them 10 seasons and there would be no floodlights. Job done! by getting the floodlights that secured the sfa license therefore meaning entry to the Scottish cup, don’t see much credit for that. I also seen their plea for additional committee members and volunteers, they’re obviously toiling in that respect. If you feel they are that much of a shambles carnethie street, step up and be counted, get yourself on the committee and help improve the club.
  5. Who said anything about relying on 16-17 year olds? If they are good enough they are old enough surely? the rules to me are pretty clear as posted earlier in the thread in relation to the playing and travelling of 16-17 year olds. That’s why I’m curious about the east of Scotland league over ruling the sfa guidance. id be interested to know more about it.
  6. When was this confirmed if you don’t mind me asking? I’m surprised that the league have over ruled sfa guidance.
  7. All due respect buddy, the guidance from the SFA suggests that’s not the case and no under 18’s should be travelling outwith their local health board areas to play games. Doesn’t matter who they are signed with, who their parent club are.
  8. The full announcement is here....clear as mud mind you, but I don’t think they should have been allowed to play unless the lads are from the lothians area? https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/scottish-fa-statement-on-new-government-guidelines/?rid=13929
  9. The age of players has certainly hindered the team on Saturday but nobody could predict the restrictions that have been placed on all teams as a result of COVID. Not something that can be helped, on the plus side I don’t think WW are outwith the lothians until later this year/early next year. agree that discipline could be better though. onwards to Wednesday now where the team will have players back from suspension and younger members of the squad available to play.
  10. Short of players today due to injury’s, suspensions and players due to their age, not allowed to travel outwith the lothians due to COVID restrictions
  11. Match report from today’s game v Dundonald Bluebell https://www.whitehillwelfare.co.uk/teams/207515/match-centre/1-6447024/report?fbclid=IwAR1eptw7-qKKYYOTGjJHakYHKDxSX2YrJAuKPLx6p92BGGqhIBr-NlfKNGQ
  12. As far as I know there were 7 first team players unavailable through injury and other commitments. I don’t know what the issue is. I would imagine the that’s why the under 20s team has been brought back into play this season, to develop them and make the step up to the first team. I don’t know what being from the toon has to do with things either, if they are good enough does it matter where they come from? By all accounts the you g guys have performed well in the games they have played it’s not the 90s/00’s anymore, success is not an automatic right for WW like it used to be
