  1. I suspect that it suits the SFA to have those 160 clubs separate under a different body so that they don't have to split their money more thinly.

Its a total farce that clubs with no support are deemed to be more worthy of SFA hand outs than clubs with hundreds of fans.

Its true that the majority of Junior clubs don't have many fans as well but why does that mean that they should be starved of funding whilst the chosen few get cash lobbed at them just because they`re based in Dumfries and Galloway?

The area with the biggest population base in Scotland has no "senior" feeder league into this mythical pyramid system!

There are Highland,East and South Leagues but none in the West?

  2. Given that it was our 1st game of the pre-season with a lot of new players I was expecting us to take a bit of a doing.

Del should be back in a week or two I`m told.

EDIT : Nice reception for big Josh when he came on for the 2nd half too.

  3. That's rich or should I say ironic coming from a Clydebank person since you lot tried to do just that. You lot seem to have a thing about east Stirling . If I remember correctly it was the courts who stopped you not the sfa, they were happy to let it happen. ES Clydebank!!!! Thing is East Stirling weren't in administration or about to go bust. But that didn't stop the bankies from trying.

And all done by the Steedmans (not you lot) who owned the Shire at the time.

The fact still remains that Dunfermline can survive in any number of ways as the SFL are a joke.

  4. If the SFL chairman let The Rangers enter their competition in their highest league...what's the point of the competitions continued existence?

A league is a league, positions have to be earned via achievements on the field, not by how much money you bring to the table. Airdrie and QOTS and Ayr and whoever else are desperate to play in the SFL1 next year but they won't due to on the field matters.

Why should a team with less history than the average toe nail be reinstated ahead of these clubs? Because they have a potentially bigger fan base? Utter farce.

I am of the opinion they should not even be let into the SFL3. Cove Rangers, Gala Fairydean and Spartans are desperate for admission. They have established infrastructure, fan base and accounting procedures. The Rangers have none of these things.

Let's hope the SFL chairman see sense and tell these bunch of chancers where to go. I'm sure they'll find a space for them in the Junior West Region Super League next year. They can go there, establish 3 years accounts and prove that they can run a football club to an appropriate standard before applying for admission.

They cant join the Juniors at the top level either!

Newco would need to apply to join the West Region District 2nd Division like we did.

The SJFA AGM was last week and thats when new membership applications are considered for the coming season, they`d have to wait another year.

  5. And yet the SFL considered Clydebank a "non-club" and a "thorn in their side", with one of them describing the "plans" for their future as "the stuff of fantasy".

So yet again you have avoided the main point: the SFL were convinced for quite some time that Clydebank were utterly finished and took no action - and yet you yourself are now berating them for taking no action against Livingston??

You can't have it both ways.

I havent avoided the point at all. They had assurances that we would continue so how is that utterly finished?

They may have thought our plans wouldnt have come off but the club werent involved in liquidation talks.

The people who were running the club were arseholes but certainly no worse than that looney Massone!

  6. As has already been pointed out to you (well ignored, by the way) going by your own logic the SFL should have got rid of Clydebank years before they did, especially since they referred to them as a "non-club".

How come you were so outraged at the actions of the SFL when it involved Clydebank, but reckon they should have taken action before now regarding Livingston?

The SFL had cast iron assurances that Clydebank would continue for the following season.

Half of the players that played for Airdrie United in their 1st season would have been playing for Clydebank.

    McGeown,Brannigan,Gardiner,Gow,McVeigh etc

We`d have played in Div 2 at Cappielow.

We were told by the David Low that we had that entire season to come up with the money to take the club out of administration.

    The rest is history.
