  1. I got the 18yo Jura from my brother which was a lovely surprise. Never tasted any Jura in my whisky journey to date. Wife decided i had too many bottles already to get me one. Crate of Tennents from her more than made up for it.
  2. I bought it on release day well aware of the issues and can normally turn a blind eye to a lot of them. I played about an hour and didn’t turn it back on, when refunds got offered i then took it. It was a shambles from my point of view.
  3. A slightly stronger Bunnahabhain 12. I need to try some of this. Edit to add that I’ve just realised it’s 11yo.
  4. Arran is a brilliant and beautiful island with a fair amount to see and do and with ferries to Ardrossan or Claonaig you can either leave there for the football or the mountains. Heading to Claonaig leaves a short drive for the ferry to Islay too.
  5. Entry Level has lots to choose from if you’re looking to avoid the peat. My first few bottles were fairly standard and i pretty much started on the following. Glenfiddich 12 Glenmorangie 10 Cardhu 12 or Gold Reserve Aberfeldy 12 Aberlour 10 or 12 Highland Park 12 Tamnavulin You will always find at least 1 or 2 of them below £30 and they will all be relatively easy to drink for a starter.
  6. It was season 2014/2015. We left our U15s in Scotland and they finished an incredible 7th in League 1, while we cruised up and down the Costas.
  7. Heading over to Arran on Wednesday. Like the sound of this. Hopefully I’ve got time to have a snoop around [emoji106]
  8. I plumped for the 2 ultimate packs since I’d got lucky with the 85+ pack. Seems I’m in EA’ good books at moment
  9. 5 x 85+ pack. Also got Kimmich, Fabinho, Eriksen and Marquinhos. Wow
  10. Chunky every time. Mrs prefers blended which means i have to make it more than I’d like to or it comes as a tasty browny yellowy sludge. Don’t get it personally.
  11. Originally for £280 but took the £212 as had the feels. Crawley conceded a 90th min equaliser. Roond ye 365 and see you tomorrow
  12. Take the doors off the hinges and switches off the wall. Once the troll gets bored it’ll move to somewhere else.
  13. Bunnahabhain is my favourite, and the 12yo is pound for pound an absolute gem. Never without it. Going to have one now tbh.
  14. It’s definitely a pleasant whisky. Maybe once I’ve had 2 or 3 I’ll change my tune a little but that’s my first impressions.
  15. Review of Ledaig Sinclair Series as requested [emoji16] Visually it looks the part, although significantly lighter in tone than other red wine cask variances I’ve had before. Nose: the rioja is very subtle, and you’d be forgiven to miss it tbh. A little bit of an old wood smoke coming through which is right up my street and also a bit leathery. Pallate: don’t get the rioja at all which is disappointing. Never had a Ledaig before so I can’t compare to any of the others. I nice smokiness which isn’t overpowering in the slightest Finish: rioja comes back in the aftertaste, mixed with a a tad more smoke and saltiness which is pleasant. Finish doesn’t last very long though. Conclusion: a nice dram which isn’t too complicated. Everything is quite subtle which makes it easy to drink. At the price point i would say there is much better though. If it’s £30 or under I’d be tempted to get it again, but anything over, I’d avoid. An extra year or two in the rioja barrels could have made this a solid 8/10. As it stands it’s a generous 6.5-7 from me. Underwhelmed.
  16. Having only listened to 3 albums that were released this year, my favourite of the year would be Holy Moly by Blues Pills. Tremendous band and a very good album.
  17. I wont be home for a couple of days so will be sure to have this reviewed by end of week. I refuse to try it out of a hotel cup [emoji23]
  18. https://www.whiskybase.com/whiskies/whisky/71770/white-horse-fine-old-scotch-whisky Never had but it scores well from reviews. Worth a few bob too, maybe.
  19. Had a brief trip to Mull today for work and nipped into the gift shop. Anyone tried this?
  20. Tamnavulin Red Wine cask has been available in coop for £22 for a while now. My favourite budget whisky at present.
  21. https://reallygoodwhisky.com/bunnahabhain-18-year-old-islay-single-malt-scotch-whisky-70cl-46-3/ Near enough [emoji102]
  22. This is a wonderful thing to happen to any man. My £100 bottle of choice would be the Bunnahabhain 18yo each and every time. Majestic stuff.
  23. Can we not talk about my dead mothers breasts?
