Thats the first I've seen us play this pre season, and i thought in spells we played some really decent football. Definitely some positives to take away from last night. Sure - there was some scrappy rubbish in there as well, but that will gradually improve as players get their foitness and sharpness back up. Someone earlier said 2 of the better performers were subbed off - Totally agree - Osei looked very lively, and had plenty nice touches - unfortauntely he seemed to do something good followed by giving the ball away or fluffing a shot... but their is definite potential in him. Johnston likewise - lively down the right, got in to good positions, and played a few decent balls in to the strikers. I was actually surprised that Vaughan wasnt subbed inplace of one of the above - thought he looked a bit of pace, but maybe worth while leaving him on to get his match fitness up. Roberts looked keen to get involved when he came on - a few good runs down the wing, and looked to create - just needs to remember when to beat another man and when to cross/pass it away, but liked what i saw. A few concerns - one is still where the goals will come from. Another is cover for defence, where we seem a bit light... Also, the cenrte of midfield. A lot of youth in there - If Davo plays centre half, we lack both experience and a bit of dig in the middle. Callaghan really needs to step up into that role this year as someone who can get stuck in in the middle, and play a pass rather than giving it away, which i seemed to spend half the year moaning about! Still - plenty to be positive about, and prob feel a wee bit more positive than i did when Locke was appointed.

Pleased with the Perry signing - i saw him 5 or 6 times with Scotland U21s and looked reallly good at that level. He was solid yesterday - him and Watson could form a really good partnership a few rumours about Brian Graham and a possible loan signing for us - anyone heard anything more concrete?

Calm!!!! Its only the 11th July! ok, we have a couple of cup games at the end of the month, but the league is 4 weeks away from starting - thats ample time to bring in 2 or 3 more players. There wll be a few premier league clubs who will wait to see their young lads in pre season before deciding who they will loan out, and thats probably where we will have an opportunity to pick up a couple of players

I'd imagine we will add another 1 or 2 signings and potentially another couple of younger guys on loan.

i'm fairly positive about our squad reconstruction over the past few weeks. I still feel we are light in a few places - If Anderson re signs then that fixes one of them, and then we only really need to be looking at a starting left midfielder for our starting line up. It would be good to add a bit of depth to bring in both cover and competition, but there is 6 weeks still before the season starts proper, and I'm sure we will see a few more players brought in

i still have the image of the goal kick against Cowdenbeath implated in my head - took a bye kick from the lefth and side of the penalty box, squaffed it so badly across the face of his own goal it trundled just past the right post and went out for a Cowden corner - scary stuff!

spoke to a few Cowden fans and they rated him as their POTY, and said they would be gutted to lose him.... From what i saw in the Playoffs, looks a big phyiscal guy who looked really comfortable at the back. I;d be happy adding him to the squad

last seasons squad being the 12/13 squad, or the season this seasons just finished 13/14?????

nothing wrong with having 2 able keepers - McGurn might be back, but he hasn't kicked a ball in 8 months, and might take a bit of time to get back into the swing of things

if we have offered a deal to Robinson, i;d like to see Laidlaw loaned out to get some game time further down the leagues. the lad looks like a decent prospect. useful to have 2 good keepers capable of starting, espeically if McGurn is not fully fit come start of the season.

i think some folk are getting way too excited ov er the early goings on.... we are a week and a half into the close season - not a week and a half before the season starts! Plenty time, and i am prepared to remain patient for the time being. Hutton has already said the squad budget will be increased, so lets hang fire and see what happens!

Club website has fraser mullen and Gordon smith released as well now, along with Donaldson which we all knew. No mention of spence.

i had heard last week Smith was on the verge of signing for the pars had they been promoted..... wouldnt be surprising if he was released

maybe it wouldnt be a bad thing if we lost a few, as long as we brought in suitable replacements..... we won 3 from 20 from December - i know we are all quick to blame Murray, but the players contribute to that as well. Maybe some forced changes like this will give us a chance to bring in some good quality replacements and change things up a bit.
