Just something i heard....perhaps not him directly but people that he knew....and yes he did do a great job for the club and was by all accounts a crucial member of the board.

The loss of gilbert lawrie coupled with overspending would almost certainly bring about the above.I understand the club have been able to get the new players in on reasonable wages (very reasonable when you consider JT).This prudent financial approach will insure we will have a club to support.However whatever happens with BRABCO is anyones guess and it is a bit of a damocles sword from that point of view.Given we own our ground i would hope that whatever the fallout we will always have a club to support.

To be fair stevie did say a squad of 16 ......big difference in football from a squad of 16 and a squad of 20.I do believe they exacerbated things with those comments.

With 3 new additions our squad is more or less the same size as last year.Dont know why the club stressed the lack of cash situ so much.One thing is cutting away the DS , another thing cutting away 1st team squad places.Sounds ok to me.Now just to get the right team organized on the park.'mon the stevies.

The way it seems to be that JT didnt want to play for Annan but wanted to play with a club at a higher level.Given money being tight for most SPFL clubs not one of them was willing to pay Compensation ourselves included.So he signs as an amateur in order to do that.Annan can have no gripe with DFC about this.If anything their anger ought to be directed at the player.ITS WIN (JT)-WIN(DFC)-LOSE (AAFC).But as someone mentioned earlier he played 3 seasons in the Annan first team and his development was mainly with Carlisle.Of course AAFC are upset they wanted the much needed cash....

What position does kassarate usually play? I've heard him mentioned both as a striker and as a midfielder

Yeah someone on the Annan thread also said he could play as a striker...makes sense given ryan stevenson probably getting the play maker role.

Attacking midfielder mainly but scored 18 goals last season.

Delighted with the signing ...compensation is due(and us just a baw hair from administration)...think he will score goals.We now have a decent strike force.

FWIW i think barclay may actually be a good option as cover....will be cheap as chips and ought to take the chance to perform well at a higher level

Wonder if we will get cover for Barr as it appears he will miss the start of the league campaign.

More players expected in as Ewings and Barr are out for the trip to Forfar.We can field a good 11 but the bench will be lacking in numbers.I imagine Kassarate, clark,and mccallum on the bench.The rest of the team picks itself.

Hope they get a chance to shine in these sectional cup ties.

The winners plus the 4 best runners up i believe.Think we can do that even if we were to lose at dundee.

Dont you think we have a great chance of making the last 16 despite the reduced squad(which may be augmented by Saturday)???/First time in 30 years or so.

A player i would like to see at SONS is Nathan Austin....maybe we could get him on loan in January should he not command a first team place with falkirk.Think he would link up well with berbathom and stevenson.

Its possible they might prioritise but in terms of the number of fixtures we have played only 2 full friendly fixtures so i think concentrating seriously on these cup ties should be deemed a priority.

Think all cups are important to us this season.As it stands we are more than capable of progressing from our LC group and should try to do so.I wouldnt like these ties to be treated as friendlies.

I think our first 11 is good and arguably better than last season.My point is that we will have a 16 player pool plus 2 development squad players which over the season i feel is not enough.I think right now in July we have a great chance to progress to the last 16 of the LC something which i would attach a high priority to.We are still the best PT team in Scotland on the park IMO.

What i wrote was not scaremongering just an appraisal of the current situation re the playing squad at the moment.Notice i put in big letters SO FAR as our signing campaign is not yet finished.Hope that clears things up.
