The Ultimate Super Ayr Thread

Can see this going to the last game of the season for us though hopefully we will be safe before that. Listened to our game on the radio and the BBC were saying how well Partick were playing in their 4-0 defeat of Airdrie. Graham back to good form apparently . Queens Park are away at Arbroath next week - don't think their draw at Dunfermline helped us. -

Thought Tomlinson did okay today and added a bit of an attacking threat to the team. Not sure I would give pass marks to anyone else... -

What a weird league this is. It looks like Dunfermline are hitting a bit of form at the right time. Good chance we will be in 9th spot this time tomorrow. I am concerned that Brown still doesn’t know his best team and we are giving away too many easy goals. We need to get ourselves out of danger and not depend on others losing. -

Just curious but does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get money from games like this one? Is it usually quite quick or does it take the home team weeks to work out the income and costs? -

Worth a watch - Andy Walker comes across as a friendly and professional guy. -

Was thinking we might get more folk attending our matches because we have Scott Brown in charge. Probably more interest from the media (as others have mentioned), lapsed Ayr fans coming back, folk wanting to see if he succeeds or fails, etc. Would not surprise me if we got some Celtic fans want to see him. -

Wonder if the new management appointment will significantly increase our home & away attendance figures? Would hope it will attract Ayr fans that had given up this season as well as folk just curious to see what happens. -

Did we have Boric on loan for a game or two a few season back? -

This game is almost as good as the last one up in Arbroath -

Article says Ayr’s board was hoping to make a decision today. I guess they would then have to get back to the successful candidate to confirm he wants the job and sign a contract, etc. before announcing anything? -

I did not get to that game but remember reading about it in the papers and being delighted at the result. We used to play some big English teams in the Texaco & Anglo Scottish cups in those days. Beat Newcastle 3-0 in 1976.. -

Looked like a penalty to Arbroath there... -

Think an Amaretto would be of more interest than the game so far... -

Find it strange that Jack Young does not know whether he will be with us this time next week. Not good for the club or the lad. You would think Wycombe would either be happy that he is getting first team experience or tell us they want him back. -

My thoughts were that Albinson had been dropped following the scrappy goal we gave away at Dundee United. In his defence, there was almost a gale blowing across the pitch where us away fans were and also rain. I vaguely remember a few fans on here saying that he was not playing well this season. Whether or not he deserved to be dropped is another matter though. I also wonder whether this is part of the strategy where LB wanted competition for every position that he has talked about in the past. ? -

Still think the current situation may not have come about if the club had appointed a good assistant to Bullen. Not sure what Neil Scally is doing nowadays but he might have been a good choice. Internet seems to suggest he had been out of football since Feb 23. -

As did the play off semi finals where we lost 8-0 on aggregate and PT could have scored many more goals in both games. Losing 5-0 at home live on TV and in front of our biggest crowd for ages. Honestly did not want to think about football and the team for ages after that... -

Mr Smith should be seriously concerned that we will be opening the new stand in Division 1 in front of a smaller crowd next season. If we manage to stay up in will only be because QP and Arbroath were slightly worse than us. I know that Bullen's contract is up in the Summer but do we have many players still signed on next season?
