Ah, OK - lazy me, I never checked that.  I would rule him out too then (although granted Murphy may favour a keeper he knows well).  For me this should be about rebuilding for the future - and whilst we will need a good bit of experience in the mix I don't think that should necessarily be players at the last knockings of their careers.

Also think Fleming has a decent job outside football so (if we stay completely full time) he may not be interested given his advanced years.

Nah, too old now - aye, I know 38 not completely ancient for a keeper, Gordon at Hearts etc, and all those good cup final memories, but not for me. As someone else has said, good chance Murphy might want the Annan keeper. Time to move on.

Annan goalie Greg Fleming will be 38 in September, just saying like.

Is that a kinda Nicola Sturgeon i honestly don’t remember comment? Wullie got dogs abuse from you guys.

Wullie Gibson has attracted abuse from just about every team's fans he has played for and played against, no need to single out QoS. He's not exactly innocent from dishing out abuse himself.

We train in the central belt though, so that is probably just making it harder for us to recruit players from down Carlisle way.

Ahh! Remember the good old part time days when Weatherston, Bowey, Atkinson, etc, etc, travelled from Newcastle area to train midweek at Palmerston, surely a worse journey than full timers having to get from Carlisle to Hamilton. Does the West Coast Main line not pass through Hamilton.? Might be a problem if you want to get it at Lockerbie though.

Stenny manager’s been at Queen of the South before. Not sure he’ll fancy another crack at them

Not sure we'd want him back anyway, had us sitting at/ near the top of the Championship around Christmas and down in the relegation playoff position at the end of the season. Completely chucked it after New Year, we went from an attacking team going out trying to win games to a try not to lose team, and we inevitably did start to lose. Quite rightly binned on the night of our end of season awards do.

The thought of Yogi taking over makes me want us to keep Grant Murray...yes that's how highly I rate him. Just imagine his post match interviews, another comedian we can do without. I would go for David Martindale were he to leave Livingstone. A good track record on a low budget. And he displays a passion and honesty which I think would resonate with our fans. Otherwise would be happy to see Lee Bullen take over.

Imagine Martindale getting the job and Bartley coming back as one of his coaching staff, that would be a hoot. Don't think I'd want Martindale anywhere near the place tbf.

Went for Billy Dodds.  Hope I'm proved wrong on this one but our board seem to like the media darling type.  Wouldn't rule out Efe Ambrose either as our club have previous for going for the cheap already at the club option.

Efe doesn't exactly sound Managerial material, it would be hard for him to discipline players when he's proved not to be exactly professional himself.

I think Murphy would be a reasonable appointment, though I’m not sure if him being a close friend of the new director makes it more or less likely.

Otherwise, it’s a pretty uninspiring list.

I'm sure there will be a few instances of Directors and Managers being friends,  it shouldn't really matter if they both behave professionally.

As for the list, hopefully some of the names are just fillers and not serious.

Edit: Is Berra not coaching in  the US now, can't see him jumping on a plane to rush to an interview at Palmerston.

    Yes, quite possibly.

It's another typical interview performance, but we should maybe allow it now.  He makes the right noises at the start.

The whole discipline thing reminds me of what a rookie teacher might face in trying to lay down the law, perhaps out of insecurity, but finding it needs done a little differently.  I don't know if Bartley ever reached that realisation.

Ach, good luck to him.  I'll not pretend I'm not delighted he's gone, or that I warmed to him any after the initial optimism.  No real ill will though.

I can't criticise the appointment of Bartley because to me, it looked eminently sensible.  I hope the next one proves more successful though.

Quite agree, I don't hate Bartley like Falkirk fans seem to hate Hartley, actually hating someone because of what they do at a football club is a big overreaction and not altogether healthy imo. I'm disappointed in how he's gone about things, disappointed at  the position he's left us in and disappointed it took so long for the decision to part company to be made.  I was happy enough with his appointment so can't turn round and say " I told you so " now it's all gone so wrong, I won't follow his career in the hope he fails at whatever he does after this. I'm not saying we should scrub Bartleys reign from our memories, not easy cos it was so bad, but we move on, it's going to be a big summer for the club, lots of things to be sorted out both on the football front and behind the scenes, no need to dwell too long on what's just gone before, I'm looking forward now to see what happens in the next few weeks.

For as shite as we've been all season I don't think our goalkeepers have come under much if any criticism. Quite impressive tbh. Stone has the makings of a good goalkeeper and will be at a good level next season like you say.

For us, I'd be happy enough with Botterill next season.

Aye,  you'd think with the poor results we've had that the keeper would be getting some pelters but can't really think of any major blunders that Stone made. (obviously someone with a better memory than me will come on to point out one or two.) He stopped us getting a pummelling against Dundee Utd and probably kept the score respectable in other games too.

I could be wrong but I’d be very surprised if McGlynn has signed a boy to rock up twice a week and play on Saturdays in the championship. We are a full time, serious, professional club.

If it’s true that he’s a self-employed sparky then I’d imagine he will be either taking time out from that career or only doing it in the afternoons and evenings after training.

Have you tried to get an electrician? Most I know are either golfing or away on holiday. When they put in the hours to pay for the golfing and holidays I've no idea. You'll train about 3 - 4 hours a day max and not every day, plenty of " full time" footballers have other careers outside the game.

New manager , new season , still full time gotta be title favourites for next season

^^^^ Not sure if serious. We'll need to see how the play-offs turn out before we start thinking about that. If they're relegated, Inverness may be considered favourites, Hamilton could still be here and also Cove are still here. Queens have got a lot to sort out in the close season on the Boardroom side and playing side, depends how those go before we can think about the new season.
