  1. The guy Lithgierose that keeps posting stupid comments about BU is an embarrassment. The posts aren’t funny, not topical just garbage from a saddo
  2. Bo’ness the better team, deservedly 1:0 up but came under a lot of pressure for the last 20 mins and lost a sloppy goal in the last min of normal time. The manager got his tactics spot on. We didn’t have a great bench tonight and this cost us. A lot of good performances and on this showing only a couples of players away from a good side. where had McCormack disappeared to.??
  3. That was the perfect example of a game of two halves. First 45 mins we were absolutely honking. After half time there was only one team going to win it. A bit of spirit and credit where it’s due.
  4. I’ve had a go in the past about people posting negative comments about the club but I’m now joining them. That East Kilbride side yesterday have been struggling of late but they turned us over. We had outstanding performances from Musa and McArthur which kept the score down, it could have easily finished 5 or 6. We were ok the 1st half but completely overrun in the 2nd. Not only can we not score goals but the midfield never laid glove on them, not a tackle, never won a second ball and were totally outplayed by the two slightly overweight EK centre mids. If we can’t win the ball, how do we create and actually score some goals. Locke roasted and wasted at right back, Jacobs out on loan, Gemmell warming the bench for 90 minutes contributed to a performance more suited to relegation rather than climbing the league. If the manager is still in charge and puts out yesterday’s formation and tactics against the Rose, we are in for a pumping. Awful !!!
  5. Thanks for the info, should now be sorted. So back to the pies. Are they up to Lowland league standard someone might ask.
  6. You’ve lost me, I’ve been a Bo’ness supporter for over thirty years
  7. Game off- nothing to moan about this week, unless we have a go about the pies.
  8. I accept that forums are all about opinions, but I find that Number Seven posts have become tiresome with his constant sarcastic comments and criticism of players and management alike. They’re not up to Lowland league standard, the management needs replaced, the signings are poor, now Michael Gemmell seems to be the latest in his line of fire. The club is running on a tight budget, it needs positive support, instead of the constant backbiting from a minority of “supporters”.
  9. Really enjoyed the game today. There wasn’t much between the teams but a good win for us considering they beat Tranent midweek. Musa is playing with a lot of confidence and we defended well. Our midfield was very effective in closing them down which forced them having to play a lot of long balls which were dealt with by our defence. Thommo, Dan and Nicky struggling to play a full game and with McCauley and Walker injured we’re a bit thin on the ground but we’ve picked up 6 points this week against two good sides so well done boys.
  10. The Uni team are training full time and this shows in the speed they move the ball around but I guess once their university course is finished they move on and the next group come through so it’s maybe difficult to get that “leader” on the park
  11. Thought we played well last night. Goalkeeper was confident, defence solid, after they got over a couple of scary moments early on. The midfield was very good, got through a lot of work but still not convinced with the attack. The Uni are a very good team, young, fit and fast but seemed to lack an experienced leader on the park to give them the necessary drive to sometimes win ugly.
  12. On balance of play we could have won by 4 or 5. The old saying of “couldn’t score in a brothel” comes to mind. When will we sort out the piss poor penalty taking, it’s getting past a joke!!
  13. Don’t think we can judge much playing both Old Firm B teams in the space of three days. The full time training is an obvious advantage and the finishing is clinical. On Wednesday we were undone by a dubious offside decision and today’s assistants were rank. This didn’t help. We’ll get a better picture of performance over the next few games where we should be collecting points.
  14. Thought the team played well tonight and can consider themselves unlucky to lose the game. Max’s tactics were spot on and the midfield three held the line brilliantly. Musa back in goal played well but their left winger roasted first Ryan then Dev and was a constant threat. We also created a number of chances which we didn’t take but this has been an ongoing problem for us. Don’t want to disagree with Dave, but Gemmell was outstanding tonight and a stick on for mom. Hopefully the team can keep this level up on Saturday against Rangers and get a bit of luck which they didn’t get tonight.
  15. Thought first half Lenny was brilliant but he doesn’t get a lot of protection from referees and tends to fade towards the end of games. We fully deserved the win but we’re still shipping stupid goals and both should have been prevented
  16. I thought that Celtic B against us at Airdrie was the best performance I had seen in the Lowland league up to this point but the standard of the Rangers B in the first half on Saturday was a different level to any Lowland league side I’ve seen. We did better in the second half but that was only after they changed half of their team at the interval including Alex Lowry who was on a different planet from anyone else on the pitch. Think he should have been at Paisley instead of Dumbarton.
  17. I actually thought we played quite well last night. We dominated the game, controlled the middle of the park and nobody would have argued if we had been 2 or 3 up by half time. Once we gave away another terrible goal it gave Cowdenbeath something to hold onto and they just kept hitting long balls. Watt is a good old fashioned number 9, but he’s not a goal scorer and this is still the missing link as it has been for a long time.
  18. Just watched our goal again on twitter. What a superb strike!
  19. Think most people were surprised when they saw the team selection before the game and although we were the better team in the first half, there was nothing up front to add to our lead. The two Talbot centre backs never broke sweat. Totally different when Watt came on and he never gave them a minutes peace after that but why did we wait until Talbot scored before we made the change. The biggest disappointment is that we could and should have won the game.
  20. It was a good chance to give game time to players who haven’t played much, but it was a poor performance against a team who had to play their sub goalie outfield early on. Not much else to say.
  21. I fully expected us to win comfortably on Saturday and we should have been goals up at h/t. Our record at penalties is awful. The red card / penalty changed the game, but our attacking midfielders were non existent and we started hitting long balls which just kept coming back. I thought that I cried out for Watt to come on to win some headers and hold the ball up which wasn’t happening. Miller and Smith are nowhere near ready to cause teams problems so that’s another dilemma for Max to sort out. We need to get things turned around and quickly
  22. It’s almost Saturday again and the start of 3 big home games on the trot. Goalie and centre half both suspended for the first one but let’s get right up for it and give us the three points to start with.
