  1. The Kane stuff is horrendous. I go to all the home games (was ill and missed the Griffiths game) so last night was the first I’d heard it.

Tried to boo it down around me but too many didn’t. Needs to be stopped and folk need to wise up and folk need to help make them by booing/word in the ear of any folks in their company.

Genuinely dampened the whole game for me; just thinking about how many folk will have a disability or have a loved one who does having that rammed down their throat by folks that you are there to be united with as a Fanbase.

Fantastic initiative that I'm sure a lot of us can get behind. The description on the JustGiving page fairly tugs at the heart strings. Will fire over a donation 😊

Was just coming to post and say the same. Brilliant stuff and hopefully a lot can be raised.

  3. As always, the much important start point that everyone at Raith TV is a hall of famer and everything you boys and girls do is unreal. As a wee favour, i would put a vote on dialing down the wee lads under the camera for future highlights that would be great - cutting right through me (maybe cos I don’t have kids!!) but also think it’s obscuring the general atmosphere/crowd noise. Happy to go with the majority though.

On to the highlights themselves, level has been taken up a notch. Shots of the crowd and the HQ slow mos from different angles is really, really impressive. And hugely appreciated - tremendous viewing.

Also, the composure from Smith to square that 👏 the ice in the veins composure we lacked all day. Brilliant it came in time before the end!

Edit to add. Red all day

Kev was clear at fault for the first goal, but he nearly saved the defenders bacon on the second with a great first save. Every keeper has a howler now and then, but what a  time for it.

Im never one for getting on a players back as it’s usually counter productive. But he should have talked clearly to McGill to head it to him. 10 mins later Dick had the same ball and headed it behind him for a throw. And Dick clearly indicated that Kev didn’t communicate and tell him the easy cushion header back to the goalie was on. Shaughan McG on the terrace made the point I’ve said to my pals a few times; the centre half’s and fullbacks are getting on at him. Which indicates the trust isn’t there.

So whilst McGill, Watson and Murray all were dreadful for the second goal, I think it doesn’t happen without Kev. But Kev made an unreal save in that passage that was a ‘goal saving’. So there is something there (as his save last week showed too). So he will win us points, but at the moment looks like he will lose us more. Needs to learn fucking fast.

Edit to add: Big Kev is our Number 1 this year so it’s important we stay with him. He was apologetic at the end and I made sure to clap him directly. Nothing good comes of putting extra pressure on him. Need to get behind everyone. If he doesn’t do it and doesn’t learn a change will be made. But until then, let’s get behind him!

There are some challenges with stuff after the match. We have to get ready for post match interviews fairly quickly after the match and, with limited equipment, RTV basically have to pack up rapid and fire over to the interview area so can’t film for much longer after the final whistle. Not to mention the music playing at the end of the games can mean there are copyright claims on videos on YT if they are heard for too long.

When we have extra volunteer support and equipment, we’ve done celebration stuff in the past (see the end of the Motherwell highlights last year). Definitely something RTV will capture if we can though. You might also see some celebration stuff on social media outside of the highlights if captured elsewhere.

Ultimately, more content = more time to produce. Think RTV have been pretty good at getting highlights out at the earliest possible time the vast majority of weeks. We know there are a lot of people who like to see them then. It won’t be the case every single week because sometimes people have things on, but RTV will try to keep up the percentages fans have been used to again this season. RTV will put a post up on its social channels when highlights will be up later than usual.

Making the deadline involves working until late on a Saturday every single week, so there needs to be a bit of balance between making something good that is also manageable within the times volunteers can commit to.

Generally, the highlights won’t have comms and there will be a video on social media put up with the goals with comms on the RTV channels later when it is applicable. There are no plans for RTV to change this. If you hear the comms on the highlights in the near future, there is some sort of technical reason for it (for example we’ve been given footage with other comms on it or the sound on the video has an issue). If there is a decision to put comms on them permanently (to make them more accessible, for example) we will outright say.

Thanks for the great reply mate 👏

  6. On the highlights.

First off, Raith TV and all the folks involved do an unreal job - so grateful and appreciative of all the work!

On the comms/no comms - I can see it both ways. My preference is no comms (for the crowd noise).

One wee thing I would really enjoy seeing is a little more of the celebrations after a win. There was a couple of really good minutes at FT (couple of songs, freed from desire and then the players and Murray connecting) - a wee 30 seconds of the high points from celebrations after a win would be great viewing (and is good PR!). If the folks at Raith TV think it a good idea and its easily done, it would be great to see!
