  1. Little update.. Phoned ACAS and explained my situation and because I've only been there 6 months my only real option is to resign if I don't want to potentially harm future career prospects which is a complete gutter.

Managed to get myself an interview on Monday with the company I previously worked for before this one, so hopefully won't be out of a job for too long.

  2. Feeling so terrible right now.

Currently 'unable to attend work' due to allegations of money going missing and I've been stitched up an absolute beauty.

I was 4 days away from my probation period ending.

I've been told I have 2 options. Resign and still receive a reference or get sacked.

Resigning is the best option however IMO that makes me look guilty. I've been told if I fight it I have no chance of winning it.

My better half has been out of work for some time due to her profession being difficult to obtain a full time job (does homers though) and me more than likely being unemployed, I'm really worrying about our bills & rent. Don't know how I'm going to cope :(

  3. I keep meaning to sell my box set on ebay but may hang onto it for one more watch.

What kind of box set do you have? Is it blu ray? I'd look at taking it off your hands..

  4. Is it childish of me to suggest that if Stephen Hendry were English he would be referred to as "the greatest player to have ever picked up a cue"?

He'd have a knighthood if he was English.

I think the statement is in regards to his natural ability. He was never mentally in the same league as a Higgins or a hendry

Going by trophies won and records made, Hendry had the best natural ability. IMO of course.

  5. Or John Virgo.

Or John 'IMO Ronnie is the greatest player to ever pick up a cue (must say this at least twice every time I'm interviewed about Ronnie O'Sullivan)' Parrott.

  6. Fantastic clearance to win. How he kept it together is beyond me, my heart was racing just watching from home.

On the O'Sullivan v Hendry debate, one area where O'Sullivan wins by a mile is longevity at or near top of the game. Hendry really only had 10/11 years right at the top, whereas for O'Sullivan it has been almost 20 and he's still there. But nothing compares to Hendry when he was at his mid 90s best.

Aye but for those 10/11 years Hendry was unquestionably the best in the world. O'Sullivan has never dominated in the way Hendry did.

  7. Parrot seething in the studio, no idea how much he's mentioned that 'IMO the greatest player to have played the game'.

Delighted for Selby, got his autograph at the Scottish open years ago when he was around 18 and followed his career closely since then.

  8. Good points well made in both posts.

Agree with the argument against O'Sullivan's mental strength........If he had Hendry's mental strength & application it wouldn't even be a discussion.........that said, can you really say O'Sullivan's got "untapped potential" when he's won 5 World Championships?!

Highlighted in bold above would swing the argument in Hendry's direction for me tbh.

I'm not wishing to come across as someone who doesn't like O'Sullivan, some of his snooker at times is mesmerising but as good as he is, he wasn't as cold and brutal as Hendry was at his peak.

Heard Hendry talking about the mental aspect of it at the interval of the 3rd session, how O'Sullivan had Steve Peters in with him and Hazel Irvine asked Hendry if he had something similar.

Hendry's response was along the lines of 'i never needed it, the positive attitude just came to me naturally' and I think there's where the difference is. This is IMO of course but I think Ronnie needs to be told how good he is but Hendry just knew how good he was.

  9. I tend to agree.......but what if O'Sullivan wins 8 World Championships? Admittedly a long way to go but could be argued if he did.........as I, like a poster above stated, believe no's 6 to 20 is stronger these days.

I don't think Ronnie has the mentality to stick around for that long tbh, he's always been mentally quite fragile. Often saying how much he doesn't enjoy the game as much as he used to etc.

If he manages to win this one then possibly the incentive to surpass Hendry would drive him on but with players like Robertson, Selby, Trump, Murphy, Hawkins around it'll be difficult for him to do that.

Hendry winning 5 world titles in a row (36 ranking titles in total) 775 centuries and being number 1 for 8 consecutive seasons means he'll always be the best in my eyes.

  10. He's probably the greatest "natural talent" to pick up a cue......

In terms of being able to hit 147's in 5 minutes and being able to play left and right handed then definitely.

But Hendry is and always will be the best player to pick up a cue, it's not even close.

  11. The quicker the BBC get Virgo, Taylor and Thorne off their commentary team the better as they almost make the matches unwatchable with their shit 10 year old in-jokes that were never funny, wrongly called shots (and then moaning about the player not going with their one), fucking up scores for frames, boring stories that offer nothing, stating the fucking obvious, over-hyping everything thats ever done, and never shutting up the f**k up.

Ronnie demolishing Hawkins 10 - 3 at the moment. But we all want Barry to win some frames because he deserves it as he is such a nice chap according to Taylor.

Thorne and Taylor I don't mind but f**k me Virgo is absolutely brutal.

His shit jokes always get a giggle out of those arseholes who wear the little headsets. Why would you pay to listen to commentary when you're watching the bloody match live in the arena!?

  12. You say Hector annoys you, but wait until the last episode of season 4 and his involvement in that. Scenes, scenes everywhere.

    That is the scene.

Scenes don't come anymore scenes than that very scene.

  13. He didnt take defeat well...

Can't do that on the Xbox one, Been a while since I got a 'ur fukin shyt m8, I fukd ur mum last nyt n u get fukd frm ur dad' type message.

  14. John Virgo is the worst commentator, he just saps any enthusiasm out of this viewer with his dull tones and even worse commentary.

The crowds at the crucible get worse every year, even more so when Ronnie O'Sullivan is playing. 'COME ON RONNIE' when it's 1-0 in frames and he's potted an easy blue. GTF

  15. I just bought two of the big packs worth 15k and the best players i got were Altidore and Seb Larrson.

    Get tae EA.

John O'Shea & Tom Carroll in mines.

    Raging.
