The people who slate him for not signing players are often the same ones who slate him for not developing youth. McHugh will do very well but we still need a goalmouth predator or a target man to lay off balls to Baird or McHugh. Our normal game is not a big punt up the park but against teams like Alloa we need more option than trying to walk the ball into the net.

In 78 first team games for 4 clubs ( two loan spells ) Loy had only scored 10 goals. His career as a scorer only took off with us. Was surprised to learn that McHugh has already made 88 first team appearances but has only scored 11. He is three years younger though. The stats ( for what they are worth ! ) are hopeful that we have signed an asset instead of an ass. That is wiki figures so I not sure it is exact!

If Sibbald was injured/ sold we have Blair and Grant as raw replacements and both show promise. Whilst Loy worked his socks off every game lets not pretend he was a goalmouth predator. When he was isolated up front he spent most of his time in midfield trying to get the ball. When he did get it there often was nobody in front of him. We needed on out and out front man then and we still do. He will be missed for his industry not his prolific scoring

Baird needs a player who can draw defenders away from him or a big target man. I was Talking to Billy Reid and he told me about this 6 ft 5 in centre forward who plays in Sweden. I think Houston should have a look. Sounds a prospect

Dear Peter, Please try to give Falkirk fans a few new faces to look forward to soon. All we have to interest us at present are women playing football and Andy Murray. We need something to get us in the mood for next season now our tickets are bought. Even a few daft wee rumours would help
