Read it was Liam Boyce - wouldn't have thought they'd want to involve him in any swap for Quinn unless we're also giving them a fee. For what its worth, I think we'll sign Don Cowie on loan and then sign him permanently in the summer.

Would be pleased if we signed Bannigan. Even if not until the summer.

Gutted if Ward is going back to Liverpool. Though he looks like he'll be their No1 in years to come. Or sooner. McInnes rarely talks about transfers but a no-nonsense midfielder must be high on the priority list in January, and possibly now a keeper. Would also expect to see some planning for a Shay Logan replacement in expectation that he'll be off in the summer.

Rumour on Twitter that we are looking at Cardiff striker Federico Macheda on a loan deal (based on absolutely nothing). Still think we need another striker in the squad though.

I'm still surprised this has made the papers at this stage. The first we've heard of many of Derek's signings are only when they are actually a done deal. Are season long loans for the next season usually arranged in the middle of May? (No pun intended). Hope it happens, though.

Thinking ahead to post-split fixtures (and I know there has been some discussion on this already) are we due Celtic and Hamilton/Dundee/St Johnstone at home and ICT, United and Hamilton/Dundee/St Johnstone away? If its only 2 home games presumably we require a 3rd visit to someone not likely to be involved in placing the European spots.

Our consistency against the rest is incredible this season. The 3 games where we've been unlucky have all come against Celtic. Really quite frustrating. Would be interesting to see if we could close the gap going into the split, as presumably (though post-split fixtures are dangerous to assume), they will be due a second visit to Pittodrie.
