Regardless of yesterday this was always quite likely. The cups have been shared by a few teams in the last few seasons. We'll be doing well if we reach the LC final and finish 2nd. That would be a reasonable return from this season.

This was always going to be a big game in this campaign, but surely it now falls into the "must win" category. 3 points here and again in March against Gibraltar would put us in a good position for the Ireland return in June. It would also be handy if Poland dropped points in November against Georgia, and then drew with Ireland in March. All ifs and buts, but its good to be in the mix.

Presumably Ash Taylor is a long-term replacement for Anderson. Which potentially raises a question over whether Considine (and Shaughnessy) are kept. Its also unclear what McInnes' plans for Clark Robertson are.

As echoed by others, Vernon leaves with his head held high. His goals saved us from relegation a few years ago. And he was a huge contributor to our trophy win this season. Logan would be good business. Wonder what else we can pull out of the bag before 3rd July.

There's a Graeme Shinnie rumour doing the rounds as well but as that would involve a fee, unsure if that is likely.

Suppose it depends on the futures of Magennis and Zola. Punting three strikers out would leave McInnes with a big task of replacing them with three better players.

Now that I'm a bit less distraught after yesterday, can now think ahead. Would sign up Anderson and Robson again. Low too. Vernon probably deserves another year, with a proper run of games. Made a huge contribution when called upon this year (Falkirk away, LC final). Would like to see us sign Logan and Hector permanently for starters. With our season starting so soon its important we snap up the players we want asap so that we have an established XI by the time the Premiership kicks off again that has played together in a few Europa League qualifiers (hopefully).
