  1. Murray has had 2 excellent years with us. I'm sure he is aware of where we need improving and will take appropriate action. Too soon to be having a pop at him in my opinion but relative success sometimes brings unrealistic expectations. Also we can't assume that finances are available just because we have reduced the wage bill. Murray doesn't control the budget and other forces may be constraining this. Still no update on the new stadium?
  2. I wouldn't take any of the 07/08 team in place of what we have today. They had a phenomenal run up to the end of the season but for two thirds of it they were average at best. Admittedly they were a vast improvement on what we had seen for in the preceding seasons but that wasn't difficult.
  3. . Buy one next season and support your team or go and watch East Fife. It was obvious that 6 games this season would be all ticket.
  4. Very happy with the Danny Rogers signing and the confirmation that he is our new first choice keeper. Most agree that this position needed improving and Murray has seen this and has taken action. I'm sure he will also have a plan to keep our goalkeeping budget at a reasonable level. I haven't seen the boy in action but trust the manager's judgement on this one.
  5. Tommy Coyle was my favourite ever Sons midfielder. Pure class. Magnificent in the Tennents Sixes too. Often an unfair target of the boo boys, his crime being always trying to play creatively.
  6. Wow, I was right! I'm not the new source of all knowledge though, just had a lucky source on this occasion. I think it's a good appointment - he has a very good reputation for bringing through young players.
  7. No, but you are on the right track with the nationality.
  8. Sons will be going "continental" with their replacement for Jack Ross. There should be an announcement in the next few days if it comes off.
  9. I'd have thought Houston would be a decent appointment for Falkirk. Did a decent job at United for which MacNamara for some reason gets all the credit. Also I can remember when he was an average midfielder with the Sons he remained popular with the Bairns fans. Means we hold on to Murray too - win/win!
  10. Apologies for the shorthand. Every club in Leagues 1 and 2 with a restricted capacity like ours put in additional accommodation. Obviously Queens Park, Clyde, Rangers, Airdrie, Ayr Utd, Dunfermline, Elgin, Stirling Albion etc didn't have to due to their existing capacities.
  11. The financial argument against extra accommodation can be shot down straight away. Every club in League 1 and 2 did it based on 2 games at their gate prices. We have 6 guaranteed games at Championship gate prices. Financial no brainer. Even a few grand is a tidy sum when multiplied by 6.
