  1. I have been actively following The Dons since the late 70s and am trying to remember feeling this low about the team.

I know I felt gutted after losing the league cup replay to Utd in 79 as we had beaten both of the Old Firm en route and was sure this would be the first trophy I would see us win. (I was too young to fully remember 76).

Then when Hamburg put us out of Europe after we had destroyed them in the first leg I remember the ribbing I got at school the next day.

At least in those days I felt that the team had done their best and we still went into a season expecting to win something and regularly beat Glasgows finest home and away.

I was overseas when Stenny beat us but we had beaten Rangers the previous week so felt that was just a freak result.

Watching the game on Monday night was embarrassing, the team was second best in nearly every department on the pitch. No one seemed to be showing any leadership.

Every player should hang their heads low and be made to apologise to the fans for such a performance.

Losing in a final is worse pappa jack,Aberdeen will be lucky to make the top 6 each season if they keep sacking managers IMO.

If you lose in the final you will at least have had the joy of winning the semifinal to secure the Final place, the build up to the final itself and the hopeful optimism of actual day out.

I admit that I was gutted when Rogic scored right at the end of that game especially after having been in lead at one point but I was also immensely proud of how the team had performed that day.

last night was without a doubt the lowest point that I can remember for the club. What made it worse was that the players didn’t look like they even cared.

I’d go back to days of Saturday night  Sportscene and Sunday Scotsport!

Fcuk live TV fitba unless it’s cup finals! 😂

I agree, though I would ban Scotsport from ever showing curling again.

Many a Sunday afternoon at my Grans was ruined when that show would open with Arthur Montford sitting in an Ice Rink and the realisation sink in that the football was now going to be on later and would clash with Sunday dinner! 😂

Can’t remember the exact year but Ally McCoist’s penalty against Aberdeen in a late 1989’s League cup final.

Penalty awarded because sally sat down on Willie Miller’s knee!

Actually, who am I kidding, CAR would still have given them a penalty.

1989-90 season, the ref was under instructions to award them a penalty and make sure it’s a Mason who scores the winning goal! 😉

    3pm kick-off confirmed.

Also plenty of teeth gnashing from the Celtic fans that it's Rangers v Celtic and not Celtic v Rangers. For some reason they think that reaching the final first makes you the "home team".

Presumably that comes from the same book of nonsense as "first semi out the hat is played first".

Have they decided which ends of the ground each teams fans will be at yet? 😂😂😂😂

I see that the prices are pretty outrageous as well but if it sells out then there can’t be any complaints.

Unfortunately it would also set a precedent for prices at future finals though.

Cheers mate. I only have myself to blame as I am an SSC member and have had plenty of time to do it.

I have been holding out for the South Upper and thought that might open up at the public sale.

I didn’t see it so when the tickets were flying this morning bagged two in the East. However after I put my payment details in and submitted. I thought it had completed.

I am sure I will get some nearer the time but thanks for confirming my suspicions.

I am a SSC member as well and that’s one of my biggest moans re the South Stand Upper tickets. Apparently most are held for Debenture holders and only become available if they aren’t taken up by a few weeks before the game.

Last year I took up the 5 match package but was in the upper wing stand above where the visiting fans usually sit. My older son got tickets for the Ireland game two weeks before the game and they were for the central upper stand. So you may get luck with tickets for that area as it’s the best view in the ground.

I have just bought individual tickets this time in the west and east stands for a change this time.

A quick query for those that bought tickets. Have you had a confirmation of purchase?

i bought tickets for the Cyprus and Norway games but didn’t get a confirmation on the payment hub on the website. Nothing by email and my debit card isn’t showing anything pending. I have a feeling it hasn’t completed for some reason. All the tickets are gone now too.

I reckon I will still get hold of couple nearer the time but just checking.

You should get a confirmation email almost straight away and it always show’s pending on my credit card as soon as I complete the purchase.

Last year there was always some tickets became available near to the date of the match. Sometimes the better seats in the upper stand as well.

You forgot to mention that it finished at 11pm, they played the national anthem and then it went to a white dot.

All those drunken patriots snoring anyway to GSTQ.

Did all channels do that or just the Beeb?

I also remember the religious spot every night ‘Late Call’ which was the inspiration for the Rev I M Jolly.

Thankfully we had all night TV by the time I was working overnight in Casinos or I would have had to talk to the other staff in the staff room on my breaks!

It's basic things that make it shite.

Having just one set of turnstiles is pish and when they inevitable draw Hearts, Hibs or either of the OF in a cup it's going to cause big problems.

Having three crappy portaloos for the entire away support isn't acceptable. They barely flush and have no hot running water, so you can't wash your hands (thankfully I had some hand gel with me yesterday). There's no separate ones for women so they have to deal with the inevitable pish everywhere on the seats. They're small so folk with kids will struggle. The queue for them is beside the queue for the food van, so folk were sometimes confused as to which queue to join. Horrendous planning.

The worst of course is the view. Flat all round, so if you aren't at the front you will have an obstructed view all game and may miss certain incidents.

It's not a ground fit for SPFL football.

I totally agree with everything you say but what makes it even worse for me is that this is a new ground.

It’s almost as though there has been absolutely no thought whatsoever for any standing spectators.

We have better toilet facilities at our Scouts campsite.

It’s certainly not a ground I would want to have to go back to.

I don’t think it would be able to hold a game with either of the big Glasgow or Edinburgh teams without any temporary stands put in. I would expect they would have to move any game to Easter Road or Tynecastle

  10. Visiting a ground is visiting a ground there shouldn’t be any rules.

When I was a lad and was on holiday in London my dad spent a day taking me round a lot of the main football grounds in the city.
We went to Chelsea, Fulham, QPR, Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham.
At all of the grounds we managed to get inside to see the stadiums and get a photo taken. As we were walking away from Upton Park a car pulled up and Trevor Brooking got out, he was more than happy to have a photo taken.

Nowadays you would probably have to pay a silly amount to have an official stadium tour.

I later got to see actual games in all of these grounds when I lived in London a few years later.
