It was honestly pretty comfortable other than a few hairy moments and us starting the second half very slowly. Div Wilson had a great chance that he really should’ve put away before half time. I think if we’d gone ahead, Stirling would’ve crumbled. I thought it was very flat from the home fans. They didn’t look like they believed they could do it.

You seriously thought that was comfortable? First half was decent as we took the game to Stirling when we had the ball. Second half it appeared the instructions were to hold out which I just don’t get. We had shown we could threaten yet in the second half made little attempt to attack and when we did our decision making was poor. Can’t help feeling that we got through as a result of Stirling’s failings rather than our own positives. No idea how the final will pan out but please don’t try and shitfest our way to a win

If we get through, we're at home on Tuesday and the 2nd leg is on Friday night which I wouldn't class as midweek.

I know what you mean but from the point of view of travel it’s like a midweek game. Seems pretty pointless to me and really takes away from the second leg having it in a Friday night rather than Saturday afternoon. All for the pennies that BBC Alba no doubt pay

Stranraer like many clubs in the SPFL do not live within their means.

They rely on handouts from the league called “prize money”.

They’ll end up in the SoSL when they have to be self sustaining!

So what should the league do with their money if not give it to the clubs

Dumbarton have already been relegated out of the Scottish League, so going down maybe won't concern them too much.

We also went out of the league for ten years  in 1897. Weirdly enough we reached the Scottish Cup Final that same season

I fundamentally agree with you, but rest assured that the shitshow at these two clubs is primarily the product of chancers, incompetents, cowards and in our case a criminal, and not the supporters themselves.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the worst thing to happen to DFC in my lifetime was moving from Boghead as it's seen property speculators gather like flies round shite.  Or make that shite round shite.

We’ve never really recovered from High Fraser dying at the age of 50

They've been able to get planning permission. Which should mean the ownership issue has been resolved.

If new SFA licensing applications are closed until the AGM. Why go to the expense of throwing them up just now? All that would change for them next season is more midweek home games.

They could have got planning permission at any time. They wouldn’t need to own the ground to get that. You can obtain planning permission over any land whether you own it or not

Disagree. The “SPL” was a great bit of branding and rolls off the tongue, so people go into autopilot and just say it. We all know what they mean.

The “premiership” needs “Scottish” added to it, to avoid confusion with south of the border. Nasty.

Im sure most of the people that say “SPL” know it is no longer called that but they are yearning for simpler times!

NB: those who correct people to “the Scottish Premiership” are virgins. No offence.

If they were yearning for simpler times they’d call it the first division

There's currently only two points between Peterhead, us and Spartans. Who knows what positions we'll all be in come a week on Saturday. But I'd agree that if it's Peterhead we face in the semi, then the away leg would be preferable on the Saturday from a fan and player perspective.

Might even be better being fourth and playing a Stirling side who are in poor form

In terms of numbers of consecutive relegations, below the SPFL, Vale of Leithen are about to suffer their third relegation in three years, matching Brechin's record. In that time they've won 3, drawn 2 and lost 78, conceding 396 goals. Still got 9 games left this season but they've lost every match so far.

They'd been circling the drain in the LL for a while, saved by Covid and before that by Selkirk going bust and the LL choosing not to relegate anyone. They've won 5 league games in 5 years.

In 1996 Dumbarton were 10th in tier two, 1997 9th in tier three and in 1998 10th in the bottom tier

Unreal had the gopros on behind the goals felt like lobbing them so many times. Some amount of clear cut chances missed by Stranraer. Watch out fir highlights. Ben Armour will be having nightmares about this game.

Yip. The header he put over from six yards was some miss

The guys has admitted guilt. I like your commitment to your mate, but all accept he’s been out of order in some shape or form

I don’t even know the guy. I just think that as the trust have investigated the matter fully and will be aware of all the facts they will be in a better position to reach a fair decision than people on a message board who won’t be as well informed

I see the Trust will take no further action against the board member who is currently on a year's ban from the stadium. I understand that it's a difficult situation for the Trust as the individual involved is important to the organisation but I do feel it's not a great look. A couple of weeks prior to this incident the Trust put out a statement reminding fans that they have a zero tolerance approach to abuse from supporters, to go from that to keeping a board member in place who is serving an actual stadium ban for abusing a player weeks later looks hypocritical.

I do not wish to turn this into a big issue or a witch hunt, I know the person in question and I fully accept he regrets what he has done and that he has apologised and accepted his punishment accordingly. Hopefully that's a line drawn and everyone can move on.

Do you know that the ban is for abusing the player?

    Definitely.

Games were even postponed e.g. AEK Athens-Hibs (Thu 13th Sep 2001).

I would have thought, in this instance i.e Edinburgh City go bust, no relegation from League One and 2 up from League two (Champions + winners of 3 way play off). Then - maybe - no relegation from League Two and LL and HL champions promoted. Or have I messed up the arithmetic?

Champions go up from league two and you still have a four way play off with second bottom in league two. Extra space would be in league two so probably no relegation from there and hl and ll champs play of for that extra space
