  1. Why not? Someone who managed to score ten goals in a team as bad as that must have something
  2. That means out of 28 players that we used last season only six have signed on again for next season. Don't think I can ever remember such a high turnover before.
  3. The pedant in me was going to make a similar post but I decided against it. Mind you, your sarcasm seems to have bypassed BBPF and Kyle
  4. Why have a training session on Sunday rather than Monday? What is the actual point of that other than change for change' sake
  5. It says the stadium will be owned and controlled by the club. it doesn't say anything about the land the stadium is to be built on.
  6. Have to say I'm a bit surprised that he's gone to St Mirren. He's on a hiding to nothing there and failure to win promotion at the first time of asking will put him under great pressure. Given the other teams that are likely to be in the league and St Mirren's well documented lack of finance I'd be very surprised if he managed that. Still, good luck to him, apart from four games of course.
  7. The most obvious reason is that he will want a full time post. We can't give him that. Yes he probably does want a new challenge but that doesn't mean he won't give his all for Dumbarton if he doesn't get that new challenge.
  8. It indicates that he is looking for a higher profile job. It's hardly unexpected. It doesn't indicate that he is unhappy in his present post.
  9. Applying for another job and still being motivated to do the best you can for your existing employer arnt mutually exclusive. Nobody will be surprised that Murray is interested in a full time post. However if he doesn't get it there is no reason why he will then be less motivated to get Dumbarton as high up the table as he can next season. After all it's still in his interests to do so.
  10. That's the part that intrigues me. St Mirren are unlikely to pay any compensation and we would undoubtedly be looking for it. Still it was always likely that Murray would move on after 2 - 3 years so if he is going to go I'd as soon that he goes now and gives a new manager some time to prepare for a new season.
  11. Never mind that O'Kelly. Two new Todd Rundgren albums in a month. That should keep you occupied over the close season
  12. I'd love to expand our core support but its been about the same since 1980. I have no idea how we regularly get more people through the turnstiles but genuinely don't think the current prices have a great deal of effect on them.Dropping them to say a tenner would just lose the club money so doesn't really make sense
  13. £250 is still less than £14 per game so not too bad really
  14. If Turner has the chance to play in the premiership he's bound to take it. Doubt if he's good enough mind you. As for Linton and Campbell it looks like they have decided they want to move rather than being given a free. Surprised at them going to Clyde though as they are both too good for League two. Can only assume they have received good offers
  15. Thought it was pretty poor that Murray didn't even have Grindlay on the bench on Saturday. Could have brought him on for the last fifteen minutes and given both Rogers and him the chance of a send off from the fans.
  16. I see Dunfermline are looking for a new manager. That might just be the sort of job that would attract Murray. Full time, can only improve them and nearer Edinburgh.
  17. Bit harsh given that the season hasn't finished yet. Personally I remember with fondness the days when you could roll up at 2.30 on the first day of the season, tell the turnstile operator that you wanted to renew your season ticket, be allowed in and then pop in to Alex Wright's office to get your ticket while having a wee chat about that days team selection. Happy days.
  18. I see West Dunbartonshire Council have pledged £500,000 towards Clydebank F.C.'s new stadium. Can anyone remind me how much they put in to Dumbarton F.C.'s stadium?
  19. Don't think there's many in the squad that I'd be actively looking to get rid of as most can do a job. Equally I can't think of any that I d be particularly disappointed to see leave. It really depends on who we can bring in because the squad undoubtedly needs freshening up
  20. Which has been one of the main problems in our defence for the last couple of years. Findlay simply emphasises how slow everyone else is.
  21. Had heard some time ago that he wasn't getting a game because the club didnt want to give him a contract next season. Bit unfair not to speak to him though
  22. The St Mirren job is hardly attractive. No money to spend and a tough job to take them up given they will be up against at least one of Rangers or Hibs and a current Premiership side. Fail to win promotion though and any new manager is likely to be sacked.
