  1. Surely by that logic having a youth policy becomes redundant. Plenty of youths arn't ready for first team experience but it's still worth keeping them for their potential.
  2. Don't say that you know him . . . look what happened to Optimistic
  3. Does no one else think that our goals against may have been as a result of poor defending rather than poor goalkeeping ? Murray has clearly decided that the defence needs strengthening with the signing of Taggart,Van Zanten and Mair so maybe the goalkeeper issue isn't as big as some are making out. With better defenders in front of them Grindlay and Ewings won't be so exposed.
  4. Why have a limit at all ? There is no reason to have one.
  5. Hibs have asked Everton permission to speak to Alan Stubbs. Good news hopefully.
  6. Playing Georgia at 5.00pm on Saturday 11th October
  7. How come there are games on the 11th October when Scotland are playing ?
  8. Seems a bit odd that both our Christmas and new year fixtures are away from home. Thought you were generally assured that one would be a home fixture
  9. Don't worry it won't happen again. I am suitably chastised.
  10. Do you think he would definitely go? He would be on a hiding to nothing. Fail to go up and they would sack him. Could finish his career before it's even started. Stay with us and even if we ended up going down it probably wouldn't do him too much harm in the long run
  11. Yes although hopefully he'll be sensible and realise its too soon for him
  12. On the admin side is there anyone other than Gilbert who is full time ? If not then you are perhaps being a bit harsh
  13. When Murray leaves it will be for a big club
  14. That's true. I highly doubt that the club would want to go to such an expense though. It wouldn't just be the stand. It would be new boundaries, turnstiles, toilets etc. The Alloa stand is within the existing ground. Ours wouldn't be. The only really comparable ground is East Fifes
  15. You can't really have a temporary stand permanently. It's either one or the other. Alloa have had that stand for many years. It was part of the refurbishment of their ground and there is no intention to remove it at some point in the future. It's completely different to what is being suggested at the Rock.
  16. Every club didn't do it. Only a handful did. And the fact you are doing it six times doesn't really help. The stand would have to be put up and taken down six times. We're hardly going to go to the expense of hiring it for the whole season. If you know it's a financial no brainer perhaps you could post the figures
  17. If the cost of supplying seats is greater than £20 per head it seems odd that other clubs did it. Anyway no necessity for seats. As to the temporary terracing being rejected on Health and Safety grounds do Fife and Aberdeensire operate under different laws ? There is no legal reason that I am aware of that would prevent temporary accomodation. The Council do have a certain discretion when it comes to planning though and that is probably where the idea that it is the Council who are being difficult comes from.It would also be a logistical challenge and to make it worthwhile the club would have to make a decent amount on it. There would be no point in doing it for the sake of a couple of thousand pounds.
  18. Not in the first season of 14 team divisions there wer'n't.
  19. It was basically the Challenge Cup of its day. It was introduced because the two lower divisions only comprised 14 teams and so there were only 26 league matches. Games were all played at the end of the season after the league was finished. It was such a success that it only lasted one season.
  20. Afraid we only reached the semi final of the Spring Cup where we lost to the bankies but it was great days indeed. In 1976 we played three semi finals within a fortnight
