Hopefully this now means Red Bull now have two drivers that can challenge Mercedes not just Max. That’s part of the reason Merc were so dominant as they only had one RBR driver to worry about and use Bottas to cover him off, now maybe with Perez it might not be as simple.

Have to admit the social media banter between the teams has been superb this year. Kinda gutted that the season is done as it definitely (for me anyway) brought back some normality into a shite year. Bring on 2021.

Pay drivers have been around since the very beginning of F1 when you had aristocrats buying their way into races. It was probably at its worst in the 90s when you had some dangerously unqualified drivers at the back of the grid. The pay drivers these days are all of a fairly decent standard due to the super license points needed to get into an F1 car. I would say Rio Haryanto in 2016 was the last complete diddy to buy himself a seat, although Mazepin has real banter potential for next season. I would say Maldonado has to be one of the worst I’ve seen and was only there due to backing from the Venezuelan government. Still baffles me to this day how he won a race.

When you spend the weekend with a 10/10 you met at a bar on Friday night and have to go back to your wife on Monday morning...

Looks like Mazepin may have screwed his F1 career before it’s even started.

He said he was waiting till the end of the year, and that the people who he would be negotiating a contract with weren’t in his “bubble” so couldn’t sit down with them during the season as he wanted to be in contact with as few people as possible. Like I’ve said before, I think another three years then he’ll call it a day.

There’s something seriously wrong if Perez isn’t driving for Red Bull next season.

I’d imagine the race tomorrow will be a bit of a clusterfuck if there is a big field spread early on, the back markers could be getting lapped after 10/15 laps and could be lapped 5/6 times.
