  1. If we kept Gilhaney we wouldn't have had these problems!!

IMO Darren Barr had a good game on Saturday apart from switching off along with others for the second Morton goal.

We need to get behind the team and if they get the basics right the results will come, the worry for me is the lack of chances we are creating.

Highly competitive league this year, look at how St Mirren are struggling and their fans expectations are far higher than ours!!

  2. I've wished for it every year and still it has not been granted - Wick away. Quite why you'd prefer letting the Wick fans have a tremendous day out rather than the other way around I do not know!

I was up that way the other week and have to say the likes of Wick Academy, Brora Rangers and Golspie all have cracking wee grounds.

Fingers crossed we can get a decent away day!!

  3. Lol.

Crazy stuff and as a supporter questions have to be asked but this is basically a new team and he needs to work out his best formation.

Saturday should have been a breeze and ultimately we should have taken all three points but if you can't take your chances you will no doubt get stung.

A mixture of Frazer Wright comedy defending and the ref getting another decision wrong cost is and Alloa scored with 2 of their 3 chances.

I would say in Aitken's defence that last season we would have had no chance of beating Hibs/St Mirren so you have to be happy with that.

We now have to beat the likes of Morton etc as that is where we should be competing.

My fear is a cricket score against Rangers if we defend like we did on Saturday!!

  4. No disrespect to either player, but we shouldn't be signing players from queens park and stirling albion.

Now we've probably had to pay one off and no doubt will be paying a bit of smiths pay till january at least. I appreciate we needed players in, but these guys will have been told that they would be squad players pushing for the first team about two months ago. Aye, Aitken seems to be decisive about ditching players, but he may also have done himself a diservice in signing players and giving them false hope.

Smith would not get a game on a Wednesday night eck!!
  5. Scott murdoch! a supposed quality player who gave away a daft penalty and looked miles off it. What dodgy manager signed him?

it was oor Tam that signed the donkey, he soon saw sense and punted him.

According to a work colleague bankie , he was a great player!!

  6. Having seen the fella Craig up front for us 3 times now, I've not been overly impressed with him tbh.

Reality check required IMO, would you prefer Nish up there? Or maybe Andy Brown if you can remember any of those prolific scorers.

Craig is maybe more of a goal maker up front but he will score his fair share I am sure

  7. I couldn't give a hoot what the Stadium sponsor is.

I think it's a real pity our trackside advertising has been so poor in recent Seasons though. You'd think local businesses would back us, and get their name our there, especially since Sons are playing at a decent level, occasionally on TV etc

Their seemed to be more trackside sponsors last night so hopefully that will continue!!
  8. Can't see the problem with getting sponsorship in that means more funds for the club, this can only be a good thing.

The ground will still be called the rock by most.

I thought the sons were very impressive last night and they looked fitter than years gone by.

Feet planted firmly on the ground as that was not a full strength Hearts team but you can only beat what is in front of you.

And an added bonus was I got a sneak preview of the away strip which I think will be very popular!!

  9. I had a fight there the day we won 4-2 in the Premier League in 84/85. Probably the only time in my adult life I've fought anyone. It was a right result because I decked the guy and managed to get away just before the polis came and lifted him. Happy days.

I am sure sons r us is the wee kid with the hat behind the goals
