  1. I think Gary Fleming can work as a striker and midfield player although the amount of bookings for dissent is annoying. Mitch Megginson is well worth keeping for the same reasons. Archie Campbell is like a Jack Russell and just chases everything but not much outcome. My comments about Mark Gilhaney and Scott Agnew are the same in that during my short time (end of third season as a season ticket holder) is simply they have had in my opinion the least productive season. Perhaps my first season they had Jim Lister and laterly Chris Kane to connect with in the attack. Easton and Petrie have not done it and Jordan Kirkpatrick who I have enjoyed watching when he was match fit for his first 18 months is the most productive midfield player. Chris Turner is great when on his game but sadly this year he has over committed on challenges, picked up an early booking that virtually ruled him out the game. I did like when we played with Hugh Murray as an experienced holding midfield player along with Turner that allowed players like Aggie and Gilhaney to use there preferred attacking option. For me Andy Graham has been terrific in most games I have seen.
  2. Andy Graham for my player of the year. Our midfield are so inconsistent Aggie never even entered the equation for my player of the year. I still support every player on the park and keep my complaints until after the game on the way home. Our team needs us to support them every week for the full 90 minutes.
  3. Easton,Petrie, Gilhaney and Agnew. Mark might have just had a bad end to the season and Aggie is so inconsistent. The other two are not even worth a mention. Would rather give Mitch and Garry Fleming a role in midfield before Easton and petrie.
  4. I think Antonia should write a letter complaining to the League about the kick off time. As some others seem to be doing. I think Andy Graham has enhanced Stuart Findlays time at Dumbarton as he has for Danny Rogers. I think we have had achieved our goal for the season. Jordan Kirkpatricks injury came at a bad time for us. I do think some of our signings have not been as good as Ian Murray and we anticipated. I do think we are ready for the start of building a new team like he did when he arrived. looking forward to a new season and hope we keep some of my favourite players and let some of our midfield lightweights go. For me we need a new solid midfield holding player as Chris Turner has disappointed me for most of the season. I can say this as I am not going to the Player of the Season dance as CT might punch me or give me a Glasgow kiss.
  5. My opinion is that many teams have a small sectarian group of fans. Not seen any at Dumbarton, a terrific example of a family club.
  6. So why Dons players? Actually I supported Celtic for over forty years. For the last three or four years I went to support my local team. I enjoy the non sectarianism and the expectations to win every week and I love it. I declared myself to the dumbarton fans I sit with and I am a fan of the Sons.
  7. Think if you look at Aberdeen post. I have written a similar post about our loaned Dons Goalkeeper.
  8. All I can say is this young man is a great goalkeeper. Would love him to stay with us but think he could be currently The Dons number 1.
  9. Alex, Jim Leighton is here at Dumbarton regularly and he cannot be any more impressed by a Goalkeeper who is playing under 21 football. Danny has helped us stay in the championship again this season.
  10. An update for the Celtic fans who are worrying about losing both the current central defenders. At Dumbarton we have a young loan player from Celtic Stuart Findlay. This bhoy will make it at Celtic if given the opportunity. He is the best central defender I have seen at his age (probably) 19 or 20 in my life, even better than John Kennedy.
  11. Just a wee note to say that the young loan goalkeeper Danny Rogers that we (Dumbarton) have is an excellent goalkeeper. Won't be surprised if he wins player of the year. Think he should stay with us for a while longer however he has a fantastic career ahead of him.
  12. Surprise for me as Alloa,s forward line let him down today. Could easily have scored three goals, two in first half and one in second. It was one of Dumbartons worst performances of the season but we had the luck that you lacked today.
  13. Wonder if anyone else noticed the cowardly Iain Russell flicking the two fingered salute to the Dumbarton fans after the game ended today? I had a wonderful day in hospitality and delighted to take a point from a decent side.
  14. Heard someone saying Jason Scotland was a possible replacement.
  15. I wish I had your faith raith. Our squad is as bare as a Kojaks head. We need more numbers in it. If we get a few injuries we could be in bother.
  16. What is the issue with mortgaging the stadium? It is still Ibrox home of the Rangers. You just need to pay the money you borrow and then own it again. It has no value to anyone other than rangers as it is a football stadium. Please note I am not ripping the pish. Celtic did the same thing with wee Fergus.
  17. Good times to be a football fan. Ferguson had a great team as did United. I think it all changed in 1986 when Souness came to rangers. He splashed the cash and from then it wiped out the challenge from the north east and Ferguson going to Manchester. I am a Dumbarton fan just sharing my thoughts. More sponsorship the more money for my team.
  18. I was at Celtic Park on Sunday with my son's. The atmosphere was non existent. Talking to friends who go to watch Celtic are bored. Like you one of my son's initially laughed at the liquidation but even he is fed up going to watch Celtic sauntering to another boring league title.
  19. I hope he does spill the beans and perhaps donates the cash to one of the trust's. I am far from being a rangers fan but let's face it Scottish football is Donald ducked without them.
  20. I am giving up. They bought out Rankine therefore could have saved the club from uncertainty of a future.
  21. I was in attendance last night. I am sure brabco bought out the last chairman, who I understand was ready to do a Jack Steadman. Sad story yes. He watched his team play in the Championship not 2nd division. A happy Sons fan enjoying watching a successful team. Maybe it's just me that gets it.
  22. Look at last season's table. In the championship for three years and fighting chance of four. I tried to help a man, a grandad with his grandson who had a heart attack leaving a game last year, he sadly died later. His last few hours spent watching Dumbarton playing in the championship with his grandson. Would we be in the championship without this board of directors and Brabco? I think not. So don't greet, enjoy today it only lasts 24 hours.
